I, along with my parents and sibling, have been lifelong boxing fans; my father was a golden globes champion. Seeing you do this is so inspiring and so important not just for the charity but for people to understand the mental and emotional rigors that are unlike any other challenge. Hearing you talk about fighting asthma through your training and through the fight is a testament to your will, and your mental toughness. Thank you for being a part of this, for the charitable cause and for your insights on what this sport is and can be. You’ll always be a hero in my book.

I introduced my daughter to your content and career a couple years ago because you're such a powerful role model. She actually cried when you won😂 Thank you for being you.
With everything that you had to deal with in those months, from your family and covid, you absolutely nailed it! Such an inspiration, and all for such a great cause. I could see you were struggling with the asthma throughout, and to see you push through regardless and not let it get to you was fantastic. It wasn’t about who won in the end, it was just about having fun and raising money!
SO HAPPY YOU WON! When you weren't as aggressive as Mika I was worried but then on the last round you went in and landed a couple of hits which gave me hope you won and it made me nervous during the split decision vote! Also, loved your entrance, your energy and definitely you getting buffed for the fight has pushed me to go the gym more than it did before the fight!
5:48 yea I get this. I have exercised induced asthma that used to flare up when I ran track. I started having a hard time breathing during practice one day after a long run and pushed through wheezing and towards the end I really felt it but pushed through and once I finished the run I could hear how loud the wheezing was and it just started getting harder to breath and I panicked… and I didn’t have my inhaler. My coach who I was really close with talked me down thankfully and after a bit I started feeling it getting easier to breath. I can see how having that fear throughout the match could definitely have you worried coming up to the match. Awesome work! Epic you did this for charity.
I found you through funhaus back in 2018/2019. I'm glad to hear that you will continue boxing as a hobby/workout. something that I should share as I train in Muay Thai and Brazillian Jiu-Jitsu...it's ok to feel these things towards the person you are hitting, top fighters feel this way in all of the combat sports (at least, most of them do). it shows that you have morals, it shows that you have a heart, and one thing I could say for you mentally, is to train your mind to stay focused under pressure and keep your emotions in check. I also have asthma too, all my life I have had it. I don't know how severe your asthma is so I can't just go and say "well just control your breathing" because I've dealt with asthma attacks in the past. my asthma is much more controlled now than it's ever been AND I have gained knowledge on breath-work and how to control my breathing from various sources. if it seems like something you're interested in, yoga combined with meditation on a regular basis, even if just for 5-10 minutes a day, will work wonders for you. I will not claim it will cure your ailments, but it CAN treat them. I don't know if you even check your comments (I know I don't 😂) but if you do, I hope this knowledge from one warrior to the next, helps all. (using the word warrior is cringe, but I don't care LOL) edit: I also want to tell you about this product called the O2 trainer by former MMA fighter, Bas Rutten. you can buy it on amazon. I HIGHLY recommend looking into it and if you do consider buying it, use it as intended, every single day. it can help with the physiology of us humans AND with us so called "asthma niggas" (😭), might actually improve your symptoms of said condition.
Congrats on the win and all you did to prep for the fight. I hope the best for you and your family. Been a fan of yours since you were on IGN and Podcast Unlocked.
Oh damn. Thank you for sharing what was going on about the fight. It’s a lot more complicated that I imagined and how complicated emotionally it could be. It’s amazing how things end up and how it’s never what you expected, or how you expected it in the moment.
I thought you did amazing! Considering the pressure of having so many people watching, your family situation and health risk...you showed up, delivered and got the W. So proud of you!
DAAAM this is so dope! I have to show my wife. She's currently training and she is so self critical. Dam Alanah, you such a superstar!!! Awesome video. Not sure how you are with taking acknowledgements, but I hope you get how dope you are! Especially with all the life challenges you share with us!!
I was shocked how different the match was from what I expected. You looked so strong and well prepared that I saw a fast knockout coming. Thanks for the explanation and insights behind the scenes why it was so tough and different. Huge respect! 💪
As a cancer survivor, the end of the video brought me to tears. What an opportunity to put so much time and effort into such an obstacle and have it culminate into that moment of wholesome victory. All in the name of sport, hard work, and your loving family. Really a sweet story. Thank you for sharing! Best of health to you and your loved ones. Fuck cancer.
goddamn, at 9:16 just took a bomb and fuckin ate it, badass... hard to not be inspired by all this, this was awesome. Doing what you did in the circumstances that you are in your life and your work, nothing but huge respect, really happy for you and also sending positive vibes to your familiy
This is the video I’ve been waiting for. You trained so hard and you looked great, you really packed up some serious muscle which is incredibly impressive. Overall a great showing! Although I can tell your natural disposition is not prone to violence, it’s great that you still went ahead and confronted it and found a way to get through it.
Thanks for sharing, really enjoyed it. I am sorry to hear about what was going on at home; pray for the best there. Keep on at it. Enjoy what you create and appreciate you.
I have always struggled with pushing myself to do something new. But watching you put so much effort in to every hour that you are awake has been so inspiring. I genuinely feel the drive to do more with my time. You are an inspiration Alannah! Thank you for all your videos, and being so candid about everything. Keep doing what you do.
You did so well! You got so fucking jacked. Genuinely a huge fitness inspiration!! Also, as someone who also deals with some long-term stuff thank you for being so vocal on your experience and everything it entailed, it makes for such a refreshing perspective on these kind of stories.
Thanks for sharing your story, you don't often get to peek behind the veil and really have the mindset and context of a fight laid out like this. I'm so sorry for the anguish you went through for this, and am in awe of your ability to persevere, stay the course and do what needed to be done, both physically with the asthma and mentally with the empath thing. Like seriously you're so damn strong for doing it all given that cocktail of a scenario. Kudos to you and much love to you and your family.
Congrats! And like others have said you're an inspiration. I have bad asthma too and I'm starting on exercising and working out again to try to get back into shape, you getting ripped for boxing plus the videos you've done on gaming and exercise are a huge push for me to not give up. Also cancer sucks and I'm sorry you're going through that. I've been in that position too and it sucks. Sending love
this was such fun match to watch. I was rooting for you the whole time and I'm so glad you won. you both looked like you were trying your best and wow that's a lot to go through while training and also having a full time job. Incredible isn't a good enough word for it even. As many others have said, you are an inspiration.
Saw the fight live and you both did a great job, I was so impressed seeing you both get through all 5 round because that is an insanely long fight time.
I love the moment at 16:41 when you have your hands on your hips, the ref looks at you, then puts his hands on his hips and just looks back and forth at both opponents
Glad you had good time dude! I started boxing last November as well and it's been amazing so far! Also big shout out to rocking the Kobe 9's major ups to you
You're amazing Alanah. This was quite literally an up hill battle for you from the very start of training.... AND YOU DID IT! Despite having asthma, getting the flu, covid, having to go through therapy, as well as the family member dying (sorry for you loss). You are truly an incredible person! Thank you!
I've been watching your video game content for quite some time now and I stumbled upon this channel through that. While I greatly enjoy everything you do gaming wise and in that community, this video is probably one of my favorites that you've put out. You're a truly amazing human being and this is such an inspiration. It really goes to show that if you put your mind to something you can definitely accomplish it. When you first started discussing this as an upcoming event I was worried I wouldn't be able to watch, so thank you for including the fight here, thank you for being such an inspiration, and thank you for all you do! I'm a fan 100% and I can't wait to continue watching your ventures in life! Stay golden, because you definitely are!
Watching your fight live and listening to all of the struggles you were enduring in and around your match was incredibly moving and inspirational for me. I've been effectively bedridden for the past 2.5 months and trying desperately to heal my back without surgery. So thank you for giving courage and hope to this weary goblin.
You pushed through so much to get through this fight; it is absolutely something to be proud of Alannah. Not sad at all! And for what it's worth, losing your intellect is so typical in a pressured fight. You did amazing given everything you were up against ❤ and came out with a win!
That replayed punch she hit you with in round 4: you took that like a BOSS. Totally like, "Okay, ya got me; guard up". Loved that. Congrats. Great fight. Always exciting to win the first one.
Thank you for sharing so many aspects of this, Alanah, including your family stuff that was happening while you've been training and preparing, and then how much it was on your mind during the fight itself. I lost a parent to a pretty aggressive cancer a few years ago and my god it still sucks so much. We're all here for you no matter what. You've also made me think about trying some kind of boxing for the first time in my life. I've got hardcore cardio-activated asthma as well, so consistent exercise has always been challenging for me. I might give boxing a crack someday. I really want to get punched in the face and be able to laugh at it, honestly that sounds fun as hell!
I've been following RUclips channels and content creators since I was 10 or 11 watching the Creature Hub, to Rooster Teeth, IGN to Funhaus, to SugarPine, Cowchop, Smosh, back to Funhaus when you joined, and you've become my fav creator on RUclips. It's stuff like this that reminds me why! also everyone at CC absolutely killed it, wish I could've been there in person
Alanah, you da best. I have followed you forever (met you once way back at PAX too!) and will continue to forever because you throw yourself at whatever you do completely and are so genuine and intelligent in communicating your experiences and thoughts. This was VERY cool to watch you take on.
Sorry to hear about your family member Alanah. My nan passed last year, she had frequent hospital visits for years, but when I went into see her in hospital, as I was hugging her and leaving I knew in my gut I wouldn't see her again. Condolences for your loss ❤
Thank you for sharing your journey. I never would have known or appreciated the hurdles. Respect. You took this on for a good cause and saw it through.
Congratulations on your win, and very sorry to hear about your family member. I used to do a bit of boxing just for fitness, and there is a lot more to learning boxing than it appears! Well done, and thank you for sharing your story!
I love the sport of boxing and mma did it in my 20s and you did a phenomenal job it takes a lot for someone to step into the ring some ppl quit or just don't even step out but you came out with your head held high ready to throw hands. You put your body on the line and you took big shots and all that while battling your own demons you should be more than proud you're a true fighter.
Boxing is one of those sports where you need to be dedicated, determined and detached when fighting someone else and you did well to get in the ring one and then finish it. Whether you won or not you go in the ring that's the hard part of for anyone getting the ring for the first time. All of us that have watched you for so long know how sweet you are and that you don't fight and never would but to do this. Well done! the community is always gonna root for you and you breaking down how you're feeling is so normal and human its why people can relate. You're just being yourself. Great costume as well reping of God Of War, very appropriate it. 🙌💪

My little niece watched you. Good job. You both should be very proud of what you accomplished. It's both athletic and performance art, that can get you killed lol. Thank you for this.
Once again you covered most of every question I would've asked you lol. I'm glad you came out with a win, and I hope you and the family get through this sad time. As someone who's had multiple immediate family (mom and grandmother) get cancer, I have a small idea of how stressful it is. Keep your head up 💪💪
Everyone knows about how hard boxing is to train physically, but few realize how hard it is mentally as well. It exhausts you completely. You got a lot of be proud of - keep fighting the good fight!
That’s awesome. Glad you had this journey and it’s inspiring to see that it appears to forever be a life changing event even if you don’t punch anyone again. Had to be tough with the asthma but I’m proud of you for persevering.
Massive credit to you both you did amazing was a really great fight been a boxing fan for years and I've watched some great fights and some not so great ones so some pro's that didn't look half as good as you too the match making was clearly on point very well done
Well dang. I was not expecting to be crying so early in the morning. I’m so happy you got to say I love you to your family member after winning. Although we are strangers on the internet, I’m super inspired by you and proud of you, Alanah. You are truly awesome for raising so much for charity and overcoming so many challenges. It makes me want to push myself more to achieve my goals.
Never commented on one of Alanah's videos before but just wanted to drop a line to offer very best wishes, for what's it's worth, from the UK. And I mean that to anyone going through similar, not just Alanah. I know how tough it is. Three family members dead from cancer in five years, including two I couldn't even go and visit in hospital during the pandemic, plus also having to get my Mum through cancer/operation/chemotherapy during the pandemic. If Alanah sees this, you said the key thing in that video yourself. I have felt if I can get through the last five years without mentally capsizing, I can handle anything, and you said something similar in the video. Hold on to that. Get through the best you can. Keep looking after yourself mentally. Every day. You can get through. You'll never get over losing people, but like everyone, we just have to learn to live with losses over time and look after the rest of us who remain in the aftermath in the meantime. And that includes looking after our own selves. Well done on what you have put into your work and boxing, but stay on top of caring for yourself most of all. I wish you all the best, and also the same to anyone else in the comments experiencing similar.
Creator Clash inspired me so profoundly; seeing so many familiar faces taking up such a HUGE challenge. . . you all performed so admirably and I was damned near tears a couple times watching the fights. I recently signed up for kickboxing classes because of Creator Clash. And to hear your challenges while prepping and during, you have my empathy and admiration. Sending positive vibes to you and your family. You're one of my fav content creators and am excited to see what you work on in the future! (can you give Banjo a hug for us plz? lol)
With you since the beginning, yet this is my first comment! Fellow gamer & Batman, Witcher fanatic. What i've always loved about you is the girl on screen is the real you. There is no "character", no fake persona, your as real & genuine as it gets. A rarity in this world we live in. Makes sense that you & Skillup are buddies. Also from a family that has been decimated with cancer. I've always followed you for gaming but outside of that i absolutely love combat sports & spent some time in my teens & 20's training. Never fought thought. I've loved watching how you constantly seem to be challenging yourself, never afraid to take giant leaps no matter how daunting they seemed. So to see you make all those leaps & for all of them to work out for you the way they have is very pleasing to see. Even from training though & from being in many street fights, competing in front of crowds, i know this must of been one of the most daunting scary leaps you ever took. So very happy to see you pull it off, congratulations, it's great to see your bravery pay off. Keep being your awesome self. 👌
Great stuff Alanah! Your ability to push through your challenges is a real inspiration, I'm really happy that you're doing well despite all these things, but good luck with all of these. But in the mean time let's celebrate! This was awesome!!!! You were awesome!
Well done Alanah! I was waiting for this vid haha I wasn’t able to watch it live so I was hoping for a recap. Looks like it went well! Proud of ya. Going out of your comfort zone aint easy. Hope all is well with the fam back home. Love the content!
Glad to hear you're gonna continue boxing as a recreation. Boxing or any other combat sport or martial arts training is something I really swear by. Years ago, I started kickboxing and then muay thai as a workout (I got to the point where running and regular gym workouts just weren't mentally stimulating for me anymore and I was distracted coming off of a massive heartbreak lol) but now it's like the workout is just a bonus. The best parts have honestly been discovering early on that my body could do things I didn't think it could, that I have a skillset to build long-term, my sleep was better, and how it gave me an outlet that my mental health desperately needed and it ultimately solved my anger management issues. Fight training might honestly be one of the best things I've done for myself.
I always look up to anyone that steps up, but the fighter in me was just shouting - seeing you not bend your knees and putting oomph on your punches. Yet you were able to get away with it since you're tough as nails and can just walk through those punches being more worried about your opponent than yourself. It was frustrating to watch, but I was also just as amazed at how well you're doing despite all that for your first match - it's quite a show! If you ever do it again, it would definitely be worth the watch!
Watched it live! Super proud of you! Was a good match up. I felt like they did Chris dirty with the 6” and 15 lb difference at such a light weight was insane, but understand Chris had much more time to train. But at a certain point the physical/size difference is just going to be a clear big advantage.
I’ve been such a fan of yours ever since the IGN days. your literally a gaming legend as far as I’m concerned and your versatility as a person is really inspiring to me!!
Good fight! It took a lot of hard work and courage to do this, and we're really proud of you! I know the suffocating feeling of asthma but watching you push through the strain was incredible. Really good work, Alanah.
Your amazing and seriously inspirational. I'm so sorry about the family stuff it's hard and you will have a strength from it that you never knew existed before. Doesn't make it hurt any less but i see you and you accomplished something amazing
It was so much fun watching your fight, as well as everyone else's. Everyone did a phenomenal job, and the fact that you went the full 5 rounds while battling asthma and carrying the mental/emotional weight of everything going on outside the ring is truly inspirational. In fact, after watching your fight, I've been giving some thought to take up boxing myself. I've been looking for a way for me to get in better shape, and if I'm doing something fun like boxing, I think it will be more sustainable than just simply working out because I'll have a goal to strive for other than fitness for fitness' sake. To that end, I did want to ask you about how you protected your fingers and hands, both during training and in the fight itself. In the past, I've broken fingers twice while playing sports (volleyball and kickball). One finger never fully healed 100%, and although functionally it's fine, I'm concerned about re-injury, especially since on my dominant hand. Obviously, the boxing gloves and tape wrapping are intended to protect your hands, but I wanted to know if something like that was ever discussed in your training, and if the risk of re-injuring my fingers would be too high for me to pursue this. Thanks!
I'm glad you enjoyed participating in the event. I'm sorry to hear about your family member. It's a beautiful thing for you to have dedicated your fight to them. I had front row seats and it was awesome getting to see you and all the other fighters give it their all. I even managed to bug Rahul for a quick photo that turned out super goofy because I was nerding out way too hard lol. Hope they bring you back for next year 🤘
You're a bright shining star Alanah, somehow always managing to inspire me further than before. When I first started following your channels I'd just come here to vibe with some video game talk, didn't expect to be taken on such wild and uplifting journeys. For whatever it's worth from a stranger on the internet, I'm so god-damned proud of you. Wish I could give you a proper victory hug. I'd love to see you fight again, ideally undeterred by a close friendship. Technique aside, that intense focus in your eyes as you juggled your priorities was just so captivating. And damn did you shrug of some pretty powerful looking blows in that focus. Sounds like you doubted your odds. Mika's clearly a great fighter, but by now I know to never underestimate you.
I know we don't know each other, but I just felt the need to say I'm honestly so very proud of what you've accomplished.

(using the word warrior is cringe, but I don't care LOL)
edit: I also want to tell you about this product called the O2 trainer by former MMA fighter, Bas Rutten. you can buy it on amazon.
Women very, very rarely get knockouts, doesn’t really matter how you look!
@@AlanahIRL I legitimately didn't know this, is it because of the difference in physiological build?
As a cancer survivor, the end of the video brought me to tears. What an opportunity to put so much time and effort into such an obstacle and have it culminate into that moment of wholesome victory. All in the name of sport, hard work, and your loving family. Really a sweet story. Thank you for sharing! Best of health to you and your loved ones. Fuck cancer.
"I just had a lot of trouble hitting women."
7:05 - Alanah wailing on that other girl for like 10 seconds straight hahaha
Your journey, your honesty and your perseverance is just incredibly inspiring. 💜
goddamn, at 9:16 just took a bomb and fuckin ate it, badass... hard to not be inspired by all this, this was awesome.
Your introspection is amazing. Being so honest about your performance makes me want to see you fight again
Great perseverance and dedication! It’s been cool seeing your journey unfold. Thanks for sharing!
Congrats alanah! You did incredible, that walkout was badass too!
Thank you!!
Awesome performance on both sides, thanks for posting the fight and giving us the behind the scene insights.
I'm super proud of you, Alanah. That was a heck of a thing you did, with a lot of factors holding you back. Amazing work, and congratulations!
That replayed punch she hit you with in round 4: you took that like a BOSS. Totally like, "Okay, ya got me; guard up". Loved that. Congrats. Great fight. Always exciting to win the first one.
Lord knows I have been waiting for this video. Thank you for sharing, I'm sorry for your family member. Congratulations on the well earned win.
Definitely not a sad thing to be proud of! Just showing up is a huge accomplishment! Huge props to all the fighters. I could never do it.
Good job! I was a little worried about complications after your migraine surgery, but you did it and looked great out there!
So incredibly cool! Good on ya for overcoming such a mental and physical challenge, inspiring!
You did really well.
Congrats on the win, and that barbarian looking top was cool.
The pic with the family member watching on a tablet was the sweetest thing on the internet in a minute...
Congratulations on your win, and very sorry to hear about your family member. I used to do a bit of boxing just for fitness, and there is a lot more to learning boxing than it appears! Well done, and thank you for sharing your story!
This is a great breakdown - training, gameplans, techniques, in the moment vs checking afterwards
This is so kind, thank you!
@@AlanahIRL No worries Alanah, super happy for you and looking forward to the next bout if you do it again as well as anything else you take part in. Community Champion
Congrats on the win! Really interesting to hear your video gameification tactics to get through it. +1 point, -1 point, +1 point...
Serious amount of respect for overcoming everything you faced on your way to the match, really inspiring! Also that walkout was simply badass!
It takes a lot of grit to do what you did. Its a great experience that I think you will look back on as something you are glad you tried. Great win!
My daughter and i watch your videos since for ever i think, really happy for you Alanah!!
You continue to be one of the strongest, toughest, most capable and tenacious people I know of, Alanah. Congratulations.
This is so kind, thank you!
@@AlanahIRL Translation - "Yeah gee thanks pathetic simp loser, keep donating money to my twitch please"
Your boxing form was great.Them punches were solid.Props for giving it a shot.
way to go Alanah that's so cool I didn't even know you were doing this until just now. awesome.
Your are an Inspiration. I've been struggling with my own fitness journey this is such great inspiration fuel.
Cool you were able to do something like this, takes a lot of commitment. Congratulations on the win!
Thanks for posting this Alanah!
Great all-around performance & result Alanah
Thanks so much!!
Watched it live! Super proud of you! Was a good match up. I felt like they did Chris dirty with the 6” and 15 lb difference at such a light weight was insane, but understand Chris had much more time to train. But at a certain point the physical/size difference is just going to be a clear big advantage.
Chris also has pretty bad eyesight, I can’t even imagine doing it with limited vision.
@@AlanahIRL Oh right! That’s not even something I considered!
This isn't a "sad" thing to be proud of, you worked hard for this! You earned that win! Good on you Alahna congrats 🎉🎉🎉👏👏👏👏👏👏🧡
As someone who has been using martial arts and boxing to stay motivated dealing with many similar issues, you're an inspiration, congrats on your win!
Your amazing and seriously inspirational. I'm so sorry about the family stuff it's hard and you will have a strength from it that you never knew existed before. Doesn't make it hurt any less but i see you and you accomplished something amazing
That must of taken a truck load of courage. Congratulations on overcoming any obstacles during all of this. Wonderfully accomplished.
Thanks!
Was there any concern about your scalp with the recently open area there? or did they try to protect it with the hair?
That was a year ago, no concern
