In this video titled EU4 A to Z - Paradox NEEDS TO NERF Burgundy I do a playthrough as Burgundy in Europa Universalis 4 1.33 France. This is the series titled A to Z where I attempt to play every* nation in EU4 in alphabetical order. Of course I had to remove some nations so the challenge doesn't get too boring. In this video I play as the nation of Burgundy, I attempt to win the classic Burgundy vs. Liege war, I attempt to dismantle The Holy Roman Empire and I attempt to form the nation of Lotharingia. So let's see if I managed to do it! I hope you guys enjoy this series. If you enjoyed this video consider leaving a like and subscribing for more content in the future. The save file is available for all Tier 1 and above RUclips members in the save-games Discord channel.

can you stop with the click baity titles dude
Ooooooh, a sponsor, good job men 🙂
@@lifeuncovered6188 IMO, love the title as I found them funny. Can't wait for the "10 reasons to play this nations. #8 will take your breath away" or something ridiculous like that, lol
Watched sponsorship for you man
The next 5 nations are:
-Butua (in Zimbabwe)
-Butuan (in the Phillipines)
-Byzantium (in Greece)
-Candar (in Anatolia)
-Carib (in South America)
hearing “first goal: actually win the Burgundy-Liege war” made me crack up
also Burgundy is one of the top 5 most fun countries in this game fr fr
I suggested it on Twitch 😁
I got the Netherlands achievement as Guelre because Burgundy declared on Liege and i was able to dogpile on them for their vassals. Thanks blursed Burgundy AI
A2Z Redhawk: "huh abdicating triggers the Burgundian inheritance"
Guide Redhawk: "WRITE THAT DOWN WRITE THAT DOWN"
It's heartwarming to see hawk advertise and become big!
I appreciate the support!
I know!! As soon as I heard an ad, first I became enraged as usual, then I remembered its the first time I hear one from The Red Hawk so good on him 👍👍
Yes and no ... because this sponsor isnt selling something good due to the fact that you cant boil down good books or complicated topics to the synopsis.
As someone already said, by moving your capital to the lowlands region, you prevent the dutch revolt from happening like, ever
Yep that’s what I did
@@TheRedHawk yup, I just saw you doing so, so kudos to you dude
Wish I knew that in my first Lotharingia game😅. Luckily it never fired for me I just waited until 1650 to expand but I couldve expanded waaay earlier
As Butua, try to get the Rozwi Empire achievement and try to destroy Butuan (if they still exist) which is the next nation on the list and their name start with "Butua" so it's Butua's rightful cores anyways.
Does Butuan have unique ideas?
@@felixcroc It does I'm pretty sure surprisingly. I've never even heard of them until I checked the nation list
@@thereaIyoshi welcome to the Nusantara archipelago. I'm pretty sure many of us have unique mission trees around here
I like your profile picture, bro.
Up up up
When you eventually get to Liege you will have to vassilise Burgundy.
That's the most powerful "one-click" I've seen... triggering the inheritance event by abdicating: noice!
Then you never saw a lambda revoke roperly haha
That ending, watching you give your conclusion whilst letting the AI eat you was painful, please never make me sit through that again. Great video as always!
Been watching you since you had a few thousand subs. So glad to see that you are getting good sponsor deals by now!
Thank you for the support!
Congrats on your sponsor man I love your content and genuinely look forward to every new episode of A to Z
Now this is where the fun begins
You are one of my the most favorite RUclipsrs of all time, Ive never played EU4, but I feel like you are just a great guy in the real life. One you can chug a beer or a three or just talk about life. I hope you get bigger, because RUclips isn’t just about content, it is about people.
Same here lol
Stand down France, we have a new heir to the Karlings in town.
You know it!
Would have been a funny goal to go for the BERGundian inheritance and get a pu on berg as burgundy but its a little late now.
Finally! An end to the timeless Burgundy-Liege rivalry!
I had to do it tbh
@@TheRedHawk Don’t worry about it, everyone from burgundy is cheering for you rn
Burgundy and Liege are natural enemies like Burgundy and France or Burgundy and Austria or Burgundians and other Burgundians. Damn Burgundians they ruined Burgundy!
You can trigger the succession event with pretenders too
22:30 I had a game as Austria where Burgundy decided to become my junior partner, I inherited them, and had the Dutch Revolt disaster ticking myself. I just moved my capital to Amsterdam until 1650 and then moved it back to Vienna.
Burgundy: Perhaps the MOST legendary nation of them all.
As Butua you can form the Rozwi empire, which has the 'recruit the Nguni' mission, which you can then use to form Zulu. so do that
Evil Red hawk be like: now i will take curtail noble privlages
do you think it's better/more fun as lotharingia to dismantle the hre or to become emperor? in my latest burgundy game i went for the imperial throne
How do I get my EU4 HUD and map to look like yours?
As someone from there I was very impressed when I suddenly heard 'Aachen' pronounced correctly out of the blue! Usually my home city gets butchered af
Edit: btw, Aix-La-Chappelle is French for Aachen (we have a nice cathedral that was started by Charlemagne)
Its Aquisgran in my language lol, how many names does this city have
@@phunkracy Aquisgrana is the Latin name for it. It is an old city. It is called Aken in Dutch/Flemish, Aachen in German, Aix-la-Chapelle in French. Those are the ones I know off. A very beautiful city, rich in history, I lived there for 9 years.
I just recently updated 1.33. Do you have guide for the various mechanics you use? Some of them do not appear when I play. Trade league, estate stuff, province of interest are the main ones. Then there are mechanics like patriarchal authority, monuments, etc.
Does anyone know how to get the large peace treaty window?
6:17 England would be happy to hear you say that
Question! Are you gonna go back to play countries that retroactively receive flavor? Like how augsburg used to be too generic but now they have an achievement for them?
How do you get this graphics?
Always great to see your guides. I’ll make sure to declare into a massive coalition in my game too!
It's not a guide it's a a to z video
@@theravenclawpotter8114 yes that was the joke, congratulations on finding it
Aah the good old ol' accidental declare. I am having flashbacks to the Ainu video
Great to see you get a sponsor, Hawk.
I am wondering what graphical mods you are using. Nice video btw
Could you do a Korea Guide? Or rather is it planned so far?
The champagne release is super clever, never tried this before!
There is no hope under the Black Sun.
Tried replicating this, Austria demands the lowlands while I'm under the French PU and they always comply. RIP
Burgundy is fun and powerful nation, cant believe i used to was afraid to play as them. (:
That's such a nice color. Maybe I'll use it next time I do a custom nation
Love to see the new sponsors!!
"Strengthen Noble Privileges" yeeeesss
Is that Alan partridge in the thumbnail?
YES YES BEEN WAITING FOR THIS SINCE THE START OF THIS SERIES
Doing the outro as the country burns around you. Wouldn’t want it to end any other way
Butua:
The Zimbabwe Brid flies far. Conquer the lands which have adopted your great symbol as their own.
Modern borders of Zimbabwe, Namibia, Zambia, and South Sudan.
They need to undo some of their nerfs pillage capital and centralize state is useless now.
25 dev OPM gets pillaged you get MAYBE 1 dev in each category but 5-10 AE such a bs nerf
Hi, is it possible to form Belgium?
the red hawk, more like the red bag nice sponsorship man!
Aix la Chapelle was the capital of CHarlemagne's empire, it was a pretty big thing, before the empire disintegrate XD
And it's pronounced "eh-ks" ^^
I thought the electors had to be your allies in the war for you to dismantle. The more you know!
Pro tip for the PU under france thing: if you wait and keep Charlie around long enough to beat up france and make it your vassal, when you reintegrate with the French you stay free *and* inherit your subjects, at the price of having your ruler be that of France
As a side note, Aix-la-Chapelle is just French for Aachen, as it was the capital of the Frankish Kingdom
Dave Chappelle made me crack up lmao
When you're so powerful, that your allies prefer to see you as a subject of another nation XD
23:38 Let's beat up Millhouse...
Nelson Muntz: Haha
Why dont you pop a vassal to lover your developement and join the HRE?
because his goal in the run was to dismantle hre.
Maybe you will use the abdicating mechanic in your new Burgundy guide ;)
yo i didnt know choosing to be in a pu made you inherit all your vassals. i thought it was just the lowland pu's. that's wild, i should def try it in my next burgundy campaign
bruh 17:19 that nOOOooo got me 💀
I wanted Burgundy to do join the empire and get the cb all the electors as the third goal but oh well :(
22:41 you don't need to waste your ADM to move your Capital and main trade city you can just manually move your main trade city
The Dawn of Everything is a book I should read properly tbh. RIP David Graeber
I hope someone makes a compilation of Mr. Hawk saying "strengthen noble privileges" some day.
As Butua, try not to strengthen the noble privileges
Nice video!
Thanks!
you coudl also just move your capital to Flanders to prevent the revolt
26:49 I have never seen the name "Dauphine", is it a Southern French nation?
Awesome video as always!
dauphiné is a releasable opm iirc. the french heir was called the dauphin because they were granted the province dauphiné, which is named after the fact that its coat of arms bears a dolphin.
@@Jamie-st6of Ah, alright, thanks :p
As soon as your heir is below 40 legitimacy succesion event triggers as soon as he ascends to the throne.
"Lets name it something better, like Dave Chappelle" actual kek from me
“If you’re wondering how this helps us achieve our goal, it literally doesn’t” LOL
*Réveillez-vous, Picards! intensifies*
Always glad to see a Burgundy video, they're my favorite nation to play
I hope that paradox adds a lot more alt history missions because lotherangia is just so fun, imagine forming francia as france, and when you do it will create a new culture group (french -> west francian, lowlands burgandy and savoy -> middle francian and germen lands will become east francian) on all controlled provinces following the culture and region
Hi everyone,
I am a total beginner at this game and I would like to know if there is some videos on this chanel that you would recommand to me, to learn how to play this game properly ?
The moment he said that he was gonna seize the provinces of rethois from Nevers I knew this man watched Ludi's guide
That's been the Burgundy meta for several years at least
That's the meta way before ludi
Ludis burgundy guide is literally just a worse, more RNG dependant version of red hawks burgundy guide, though.
@@methyod yes totally agree
Funny thing is that Burgundy was actually the first paradox nation I ever played as back in EU3.
The one run you could have avoided a burgundy liege war and you charge headfirst into it. How sad
(Fr tho love the videos)
want an eu4 youtuber to form lotharingia and go down the mission tree to unite all of the former frankish empire
when i went under pu of france they released all my nations
"this campaign as burgundy HAS BEEN A SUCCEESS"
He says while being swarmed by the whole European Union he helped creating by dismantling the HRE
Aix la chapelle is the french name of aachen ^^
ty bro u are best
Props for Dave Chapelle.
Send the save game to Zlewikk to see if he can defeat the coalition
That was awesome. Burgundy was my first ever EU4 game (got stomped before 1500). Now with about 200 hours under my belt, I can't wait to give the Valois dukes another shot.
Since France update I can no longer win as Onondaga in 1650...might take abnother 100 years but France have 2100 points on the great powers tab. You wanna try this challenge?
I really hate to see when you're throwing at the end, like declaring bankrupcy for traditions sake or this coalition you aren't even fighting :'(
Nerd
Good content.
You should send this save to zlewikk I wanna see him save it or destroy it
I tried doing this, but I ended up with an annoying situation unlike this guide.
So I completed the Public Weal and then King of the Franks missions, got France's subjects, entered under a PU with France at the Burgundian Crisis and inherited all my subjects: both PUs and Vassals. But I should not have waited to declare my independence from France until the truce, because France decided to release all of the Netherlands as various nations, so Holland, Brabant, Hainaut and Flanders became their own nations. Not sure how France could do that. Maybe an event?
I still have my cores on these nations, so I'll take them back after beating France and gain my independence. I'll be doing the mission so I enter the HRE before reclaiming my cores.
I realise I also ended up losing Bar, Lorraine, and Luxembourg.
Perfect borders in thumbnail I'm gonna bust
Lord forgive me, for I’m about to buss
legit thought the guy in the thumbnali is Putin with hair
15:43 :O Wait.. thats illegal.
yes
I see many Burgundy videos talking about joining France. Is it because we can be independent later but with interest (making all French states actually ours)?
that's basically it! if you weaken france, there should be no issue at all getting independence.
@@Jamie-st6of Will you not lose Mary of Burgundy tho? I thought she's the one female leader needed for that Lotharingian achievement? (forgot the achievement name)
Its funny, Burgundy doesn't always attack Liege in my games.
with a little rng and your king dying early, you are able to get a fairly easy pu over Portugal within the first 5 years
damn i actually REALLY like this sponsor
It’s awesome I’ve been using Blinkist quite a lot!
send the file to Slavic for the ruin campains
Butua id a small country surrounded by Gold Mines. Gold Mines cause inflation, but we all know inflation is good! How high can you get your inflation as Butua?
Aim for at least 100%!
As Butua, form Rozwi Empire and actually expand as Rozwi until you can take empire rank.
