      @@WordofAdviceTV After watching your outstanding videos last year, I took the initiative to do an electric motor course and another course in AC circuit analysis, in part to better understand how the potential relay in a split phase AC motor works. It's been a fascinating exercise, thank you Jay, for triggering my curiosity.

      @WordofAdviceTV  2 года назад +3

      Ahh I see! That must be another reason why some of the more recent videos on your channel are on motors and circuits! 💡
      It's great to hear that my videos sparked your curiosity! And even more commendable is that you followed through on that curiosity and actually took a course! May you and your channel experience even more abundant growth Dave! And in case you may be interested... If you make or plan to make money with RUclips, try to post videos at least once a week. When I was getting my channel going, for a while I posted 2 videos a week regularly and I believe that really helped boost my channel growth.

    A friend of mine had trouble finding an oven element, the model # wasn't found, after a bit of searching I was able to narrow it down to a similar model that was one letter different. Also knowing who makes the sub brand helps as well, IE; Kenmore, JennAir, KitchenAid, Maytag are made by Whirlpool. So you know other appliances use similar or same parts, it just takes some digging to find them.

    Great video but what site of the 4 do you prefer to buy from? I usually buy from Amazon but use the other sites to get the correct p/n. I stick with OEM unless the price difference is high.

    • @WordofAdviceTV
      @WordofAdviceTV  2 года назад +2

      What you said sounds exactly like what I do. 😄 My preferred site to look up parts is Deyparts.com and I usually buy them on Amazon or Ebay unless they are not available. Then I actually buy from one of the appliance shop sites, whichever one has a better deal.

    I recommend never ordering parts from Sears parts direct. Their system went down on me for months and they wouldn’t even let me initiate a return because I never got the part and their system was down. It was very shady. I had to record everything and report it to my CC company who agreed and canceled the charge on them.

      Thanks for stopping by Game Wizard! I agree that local parts stores are the best option. Although whenever I am not pressed on time, it is almost guaranteed that I can get a much better price on Amazon. 🙂

      @@WordofAdviceTV I agree wholeheartedly, Jay. Not discounting anything you say. This is a great video and I like the '2 Jays' green screen effect. You did this way more seamlessly than any of my attempts in video editing. LOL. The advice on the parts diagrams is the best part and one I've utilized often. I really enjoyed this video and I've learned some things. The first time I used Sears Parts Direct was when I bought a hard-to-find Rheem/Ruud evap 'N' coil from the early 90's for my own house. They are a great source. I haven't used the other 2. Another great source is HD Supply.

    • @WordofAdviceTV
      @WordofAdviceTV  2 года назад +2

      We all strive to better our craft right? Doing whatever works best! 🙂👍 The 2 Jays was actually a cloning/masking technique not a greenscreen effect. Maybe that's why it was more seamless? As always, we appreciate you sharing your experience!! 🙏🙏 I will need to check out HD supply as well. 👍 Have a wonderful new week Game Wizard!! By the way, I surmise from your username that you enjoy games right? And from the profile picture it looks like classic, arcade type of games are a favorite. I have been casually playing this little dungeon crawler game and it has been a fun challenge! Thought I'd share it with someone. Who knows, you might enjoy it too. 😄😎 I keep trying to complete the 5 day streak challenge and usually die on day 3. Frustrating. www.kongregate.com/games/Justin_wang123/rogue-fable-iii

    Thanks, Jay. Now I have a new site to search for parts. Dey's was new for me.
    Have you ever had problems with the Amazon parts not being as good quality as the OEM parts?

    • @chrisbadger8684
      @chrisbadger8684 2 года назад +2

      In my experience most everything I buy from amazon is an OEM part., just at a better price., and often no shipping charge There are times that you will find parts that are not OEM and most of the time they are are better. As an example you can buy a plastic front load washer or dryer door hinge that is OEM or you can buy a metal aftermarket hinge that will last forever and cost less.

      @Walter Bordett
      You're welcome! Glad I could introduce you to Dey's. That site is my favorite for parts look up.
      I often order from Amazon and had a similar experience as Chris. They are usually good quality parts. Honestly, sometimes it seems like most of the sellers/sites get their parts from the same place, just with different labels.

    • @WordofAdviceTV

      II mostly order parts from Amazon and they actually have been coming pretty quick. Within a week unless its a special order.

  • @elsachi1334
    @elsachi1334 2 года назад +2

    It better to go with oem part and not amazon or ebay part alone of the times they are cheaper for a reason and don't last as much as a original part, don't be cheap specially with stoves or dryers parts.

  • @velocity800
    @velocity800 2 года назад +2

    in our area ,AC and heater shops dont sell parts to public, they only sell parts to licensed ac repair technicians , so sad, i had to order from ebay and will arrive in 4-6 days. meanwhile its hot inside the house.

    • @WordofAdviceTV
      @WordofAdviceTV  2 года назад +2

      Unfortunately it is like that in many places.. Luckily these parts are usually easy to order online though otherwise the only option would be to hire a tech.
