I am 54 and noticed my hands were getting crepey, so I started applying everything I use on my face, including sunscreen. I always apply the creams across not round and round, as this motion follows the lines and gives optimal coverage. Over the last few months the crepeyness is less and the back of my hands look smoother and younger. Now I am also moisturizing inner arms too as I noticed some crepeyness there too!
@ That's great! I live in a humid environment so heavy moisturizing is uncomfortable, however, little by little I have incorporated more and more. Winters can be dry tho.

Gold bond makes a crepe erase body lotion that I’ve really enjoyed using. I alternate between it and the retinol lotion and have seen improvement. I’m 44 and went through surgical menopause at 40.
I had eczema until I was about 40. I’ve used a lot of topical corticosteroids on my skin and have crepiness on quite a bit of my body. Thanks for the info and I will try the Amlactin first.

Plenty of other companies make red light body panels at different sizes and prices. I have a small one and just move it around to reach whatever you want. It just takes a little longer.
I love Glytone for this. It really helps with the glycolic acid. ❤️ Also Mito has body red light panels. I use their smaller panel and it covers face, neck and chest.
Hi Holly, I'm considering a Rojo full body red light panel mainly to combat other aging effects but also skin health. Did you find the mito useful. I'm surprised dr dray hasn't referred to these panels. Apparently also good for hair and brain function. Michelle (sorry, using my husbands phone)
I've been using the Gold Bond retinol, and it has helped. Not sure how much of the improvement is due to the retinol, and how much to the quality skin-care ingredients plumping the skin. Thank you for the excellent recommendation, Dr. Dray!
The two best moisturizers I have ever used..and I have really dry skin…are AmLactin and Eucerin with Urea..absolute game changers. My 63 yr old skin on my hands and inner arms are as crepey as my grannies were when she was 90! These two moisturizers are incredible. Over the past year+ using gold bond products high in urea (some actually do not have any), I’ve seen a subtle but important difference. The crepiness on my forearms is much improved, my upper arms actually look smooth if I maintain my regimen. I do also use goats milk lotion, the locally made kind that is loaded with it & not just a dusting of goat milk powder; the combination works fabulously, plus the prequel 10% urea lotion any time that eczema itch reappears, and anti itch lotion (CVS finally duped cerave!) for oddball itchies. My body skin has been so happy, barely any itchiness, no rough patches, no eczema flares, & I am pretty outdoorsy & everything heals fine (that’s my bath routine tho, & general wellness I guess, but also petroleum jelly lol).

Otherwise, Paula’s choice regime for face takes care of things. Face looks great except under eyes and squint lines (low vision) Only Botox helps those squinting headaches. Surgical menopause at 34.
Props to my mom. She used hand lotion all the time. Any time we got in the car, she’d use the lotion in the console, so I’d do it too. Never thought twice, just followed suite. Same with sunscreen. now in my mid forties, I still have nice elasticity… but don’t look at my lotion bill over the years.😂
I really hate the way my hands get more and more transparent the older I get. I used to have prominent veins on the backs of my hands which was fine, but now you can actually SEE the veins which is not. I'm forced to use a small amount of skin tint on them to conceal the variation in colour and make them look more opaque. On the topic of crepey skin, I've found that CeraVe SA Smoothing cream works extremely well to reduce this and it does also have Urea in it.
Same problem. Started using a small amount of Tretinoin on the backs of my hands and have seen some improvement. Also important, use sunscreen and for additional protection, gloves
Topical estrogen in a very low dose is used for skin problems due to genitourinary syndrome of menopause. It's a topical cream or a tiny suppository. It works! So estrogen must work elsewhere on skin, too, imo, but what do I know.
I lived in the Miami Florida area for over 8 and 1/2 years in the 1970s and early 1980s. During that time, I don't recall any of us wearing sunscreen, but I did wear a visor and sunglasses. The very fine-textured, fair skin on my face still has very little Sun damage, amazingly so. However, my hands became crepey even by my early 30s. My mother suggested I put some cream on them, and that's when I told her my crepey skin was due to the Sun. I'm now 70, and my hands are still crepey and have a few freckles on them, but my facial skin somehow escaped Sun damage. I wish I had known to put gloves on my hands or, at least, sunscreen! Thanks to you, Dr Dray, I now use sunscreen on my hands and face everyday.🎉❤
Try vitamin c and arbutin with resveratrol from the ordinary during the day before sunscreen and retinol on the backs of your hands at night. You will see a difference in the sun spots and crepyness.
At night I dispense one pump of Estrogel to the back of my hand and then apply it to the opposite arm, then vice versa. This way I don't waste the precious estrogen by applying it with my fingers (as per instructions). Also doing it my way means that I can still use my fingers without it transferring onto whatever I touch, until it absorbs thoroughly. "Estrogel" estrogen gel is prescription only, as is the estrogen cream such as "Ovestin". They are two different products that both contain estriol, but are not to be confused. The GEL prescribed for Menopausal Replacement Therapy (applied to arms/thighs) has a MUCH greater percentage of estriol than the CREAM, which is prescribed as a menopausal vaginal cream, but can be used to improve skin on the face & neck. I have just started using Ovestin cream on my face & neck and noticed immediate results. Of course I will continue positive skincare and lifestyle habits as there's no such thing as a silver bullet. 👱❤️

This has been a popular video topic lately. For the body, I believe Niche Beauty Lab (Spain) has a .06 retinal body cream. And of course there are hydrating body serums like necessaire, paula's choice, good molecules, etc.
The Paula's Choice product hasn't irritated my sensitive skin, but using it on my arms requires quite a bit of product & at this price, the container should be larger.
I love Paula’s choice products! Tested extensively. Better than the extremely high priced brands, but still expensive for amount , to me! I buy their sales when I can and get good discounts with their perks membership. Take advantage of free products with purchase. Gold bond and big bottle of AHA primarily for body, 12%, but that has had price increase and shrinkage of packaging for face product too. 😢
I seem to get burn marks on my cheeks when I use my red light theray mask. But think it maybe due to hypersensitivity to too many products and strong serums.
My legs have that crepey elephant skin look. They always feel rough no matter what I layer on top. They feel nice for a few minutes at first, and then right back to dry. I’ve tried the Gold Bond and it helped a little.
I have dry skin on my thighs, probably from too many cold winters, and also age. I was using the CeraVe moisturizing cream in the tub, but my thighs were still feeling dry and would get itchy. My sister suggested I try the Eucerin Complete Repair Moisturizing Lotion with 5% Urea. After the first use, my skin felt much better, and I no longer have the itching. I apply it right after my shower while skin is still damp.
Hi, nothing but a surgical solution will help that problem. I just had both my upper and lower eyes done. They came out great. You just to find a great plastic surgeon, that won't break the bank.
The site says it can be used on the face but since it's tested for the body, to do a patch test first and avoid the eye area. They do have a 5% lotion.
I started using castor oil on the first of October to see what it would do for my skin. After two weeks I noticed the crepey skin on my arms started to diminish. I. Keeping it up.

Otherwise, Paula’s choice regime for face takes care of things. Face looks great except under eyes and squint lines (low vision) Only Botox helps those squinting headaches. Surgical menopause at 34.
Thankyou so much @DrDray!!! Can you use estrogen cream after menopause if you are taking estrogen and progesterone pills? Thanks kindly!😊💕
Thank you. I have EDS and my skin is terrible ❤
thanks for watching
Props to my mom. She used hand lotion all the time. Any time we got in the car, she’d use the lotion in the console, so I’d do it too. Never thought twice, just followed suite. Same with sunscreen. now in my mid forties, I still have nice elasticity… but don’t look at my lotion bill over the years.😂
Can you use differin with amlactin. If so, how?
@@laurieparis2203 I might give that a try. I do use retinol on them sometimes, but I'm not very regular with it.
Dobar dan, koji tretinoin kupujete mozeli slika i jeli moze i za lice.lp
Can the lactic acid you spoke of be used on the upper eyelids? Or tretinoin?
Will a 12% glycolic acid lotion help as much as Amlactin?
A bit off the subject, but what Mascara are you wearing in this video please?
Topical estrogen in a very low dose is used for skin problems due to genitourinary syndrome of menopause. It's a topical cream or a tiny suppository. It works! So estrogen must work elsewhere on skin, too, imo, but what do I know.
Can you apply Gold Bond retinol to unwashed skin? I don't shower in the evening, only in the morning, so I'm not sure how I can incorporate it.
Is red light therapy safe for people with polymorphous light eruptions? Tnx!
i neeeeed this for sure! 💜💜💜
Happy Monday!
Does light from a fire produce a similar effect as a red light therapy device?
I think so , but I'm no expert. We get red light from the sun too I've read somewhere. Many experts with different perspectives.
@ thank you!
Hello dr dray old filipina here, can we use amlactin on our face thanks. Pls reply
My concern is the creepy skin on my upper eyelids - can lactic acid be applied there? I know 'the ordinary' has a 5% lactic acid serum.
Research castor oil. Safe to use. People have even reported cataracts diminishing. I use it on my eyelids at night. Hexane free glass bottle only.
Thanks so much for this information!
My friend and I were just talking about this yesterday and comparing our hands whose crepier 😛
What matters, is not ur hands, ur face.. what matters is- your here♡ & healthy ❤
Ps- I'm in 33326..fair , and the sun really bothers my eyes the most! VERY DIFFERENT sun from Huntington Beach,Cali where I grew up;)
Try vitamin c and arbutin with resveratrol from the ordinary during the day before sunscreen and retinol on the backs of your hands at night.

@nadab4750 Great idea, I am going to try this !

Off topic: what is your opinion on jade roller; useless or not?
This has been a popular video topic lately. For the body, I believe Niche Beauty Lab (Spain) has a .06 retinal body cream. And of course there are hydrating body serums like necessaire, paula's choice, good molecules, etc.
The Paula's Choice product hasn't irritated my sensitive skin, but using it on my arms requires quite a bit of product & at this price, the container should be larger.
Greetings d b hope u r well n Happy Monday😀👍💜….
Can the Omnilux Contour Face be used at the same time that you're using serums from The Ordinary?
I seem to get burn marks on my cheeks when I use my red light theray mask. But think it maybe due to hypersensitivity to too many products and strong serums.
My legs have that crepey elephant skin look. They always feel rough no matter what I layer on top. They feel nice for a few minutes at first, and then right back to dry. I’ve tried the Gold Bond and it helped a little.
Try the Cerave SA cream. It comes in a blue jar with a pump. I have the same issue with my leg skin and this has helped tremendously.
Maybe plain glycerin right out of the shower?
Add on some Vaseline afterwards. It is Dr Dray-approved.❤
Have you tried Castor oil? I've been using that after I shower and it has helped me.
What about creepy skin on the eyelids?
Hi, nothing but a surgical solution will help that problem. I just had both my upper and lower eyes done. They came out great. You just to find a great plastic surgeon, that won't break the bank.
Eye cream and led light therapy
@@sharkbites5472depends on how bad it is - surgery is great but may not be necessary
Happy Monday Dr Dray…see you tomorrow x💙🤩
Is the 12% Amlactin normally tolerated on the face?
The site says it can be used on the face but since it's tested for the body, to do a patch test first and avoid the eye area. They do have a 5% lotion.
Can the Omnilux be used on those who take things like methotrexate and prednisone? Could it make my sun damage worse?
It would be nice to get an answer, wouldn’t it? 🤷🏼♀️
Good morning Dr Dray ❤
Morning!
Can you use estrogen cream if on hormone replacement? (Dotti patch and progesterone pill)
Yes
Happy Monday, Dr. Dray❤
Morning!
I take corticosteroids for wu years now and have thin skin. Can I use amlactin on my face?
I started using castor oil on the first of October to see what it would do for my skin. After two weeks I noticed the crepey skin on my arms started to diminish. I. Keeping it up.
What brand i use castor oil since may ds year but it also contibutes, i saw result too but not that much i guess
@@alonaampuan6834
I live in Canada. I use the Naka brand. I believe it’s available everywhere. It’s important that it’s hexane free and cold pressed. Organic is good too but not essential. 🫶
Once a day after your shower? Or when do you use it?
@@kelleybjorksved729
I only use it once a day after my morning shower. If I show again in the evening I reapply.
Same. I started it in late September. There’s a remarkable difference since. I use Heritage organic hexane free. Truly great results.
Hi doctor can you explain what’s is yam cream?
There are beauty brands that have yam skincare products like Innbeauty Project, Isntree, Vegreen, etc.
@ but what’s it, and what are the benefits?
@@TheresaTrychanel5 It's a humectant (hydration/moisturization).

Are you talking about wild yam cream? If so then it is supposed to help to balance your hormone for people who are undergoing peri menopause or menopause or puberty.

Can you use estrogen cream uf you are on estrogen blockers for estrogen positive breast cancer?
I have had Breast Cancer, and I would be afraid to use the estrogen cream.
