    Would you consider checking out the DD Master class paintings? They are super expensive but look amazing.

      They are definitely on my list! The price point is the tricky bit, as you mentioned. But I have been keeping my eye on them, and hopefully I can get one pretty soon. 😉

    I think it’s important to compare. At the beginning I was certain that the renders were the same. It’s nice to see that it’s not. I have no idea what is going down behind the scenes with these two companies, however I’m glad that copying/stealing can be ruled out. If I’m being honest I think I favor the bigger more detailed render. It looks more accurate to the original painting. And next to art and souls render DAC’s looks a little squished. It might be just the way it looks next to the other one and the angle but from the video it does look squished. Anyway. Thank you for all your hard work. It is so valued and important ❤

    • @knits4sanity
      @knits4sanity  3 месяца назад +1

      I am glad you found this helpful. That was my hope! The dimensions are definitely a bit different between the two, so this may explain why the one looks "squished." I think, however, both will look good when completed.

    Great comparison and maybe I missed it, but isn't the first thing to note is that DAC uses 49 drill colors vs Art & Soul's 66? Either one has more detail or more confetti. I'd be curious about that but not curios enough to watch every second of a 50 minute video.

    • @knits4sanity
      @knits4sanity  3 месяца назад +1

      😂 Yes, the first thing I noted was the difference in number of colors used. What I say is that I’m not sure A&S’s is necessarily all confetti, given the larger dimensions.

    I absolutely love comparison videos and you did such an amazing job! Thank you thank you! Quick note: I am working on my very first Hannah Lynn from DAC which I bought from a third party. The kit was in perfect unused condition-no issues whatsoever. However the drills are hands down the trashiest garbage I’ve ever encountered. Something to consider if you have a DAC Hannah in your stash. The 310 is hopeless. I actually considered just throwing them out and buying new 310 from drill replacements USA. No color is exempt-they are all trashy and I am pretty annoyed. I’m only on my 3rd piece of release paper and I bet I’m pushing 500 trash drills already. Just a heads up for your subscribers.
    Great video thank you so much ❤

      You are most welcome!
      I have also had a couple DAC kits with awful drills. But I have had that with most any company that uses resin drills. It drives me nuts!! In many ways I prefer acrylic, but resin is super shiny!

    • @SingingDiamondDiva
      @SingingDiamondDiva 17 дней назад +1

      It really depends on how old the kit is. Their newer kits are heads and above their older kits bc they manufacture their own drills. I personally find their bred drills to be amazing but their older drills like in the princess panels and the older HLs like this ally kat are much trashier bc they sourced their drills for a 3rd party. 😊

    • @DiamondsandDobermans
      @DiamondsandDobermans 17 дней назад +1

      @@SingingDiamondDiva I agree. Some of my latest kits literally painted themselves because the drills were so outstanding. I’m glad they fixed the problem. Now they have to deal with the pink line fiasco 😖 which i understand they’ve corrected. I had to return two damaged kits and I was not happy.

      Please remember, I am in no way involved with these companies and have no firsthand knowledge of legal proceedings. Saying that, based on when this kit was released and knowing turnaround often takes months, the rendering would have been completed well ahead of any legalities.

      @knits4sanity  3 месяца назад

      I think you state it well- "updated rendering." The fact is, everyone knows what the DAC version looked like, and A&S had an opportunity to try to improve upon it. I am still not sure if they did-- I'm holding judgment until the pieces are finished.

    I don't want to bash companies but I have been a DAC customer for years and I have tried Art & Soul one time. I love how Art & Soul kits up their drills. I absolutely love that. I wish DAC did that. I don't necessarily like the increase in color for A & S. Art & Soul is confetti heavy on the kit that I did. DAC has premium drills. A& S has little tabs and imperfections on their drills. I did not like that considering the price. Then the A&S kit, I did square drills. As I got into the painting, the drills squished together and started to pop off. At this point I just threw it away. I will not deal with popping drills. I have never dealt with popping drills on a DAC kit. I have never thrown a DAC kit away. I will wait a while and try A&S again to see if there are improvements. Their canvas was nice and the rendering was good with the exception of way too many colors. Some extra colors did not add to the visual of the image. So that is my comparison. I know there is drama with DAC and Hannah Lynn, but they are the premium company imo. Thank you for your comparison.....that was a lot of work on your part. I do like the appearance more of the DAC piece. I am more of a color block person and DAC fits that for me. Again I will try A&S again as there are plenty of things I like about them.

      I really appreciate this added insight. Thank you! Truthfully, I prefer fewer colors, but I know some people absolutely love confetti. Popping drills, however … Ooo … I hope I don’t encounter that!

      I mentioned this to someone else too, but I had thought about trying to take a look at skin tones, but felt it was simply unfair to do that without having actually at least started the paintings. Thank you for this video. I've gotten my share from the various kits on Amazon, but once I realized I was hooked, I found DAC and was exclusively buying from them for about a year and built up quite a stash. Then I found a design I had been looking for on Dreamer Designs, so I ordered a few kits from them (have not started any yet - need to finish current WIPs first). However, around that time the DAC drama started and DAC no longer carried the Hannah Lynns I was saving up to get. I'd been wondering where (if anywhere) Hannah had re-licensed, and what the quality was. While this is not one of her designs I had on my list, I'm extremely glad to know where she went and to see the quality of the kits. I'm starting to look at other companies just for some different artists, so this video as a side-by-side was absolurely invaluable to me. Thank you so much for taking the time to make and share this video - and for introducing me to a new company that is now on my list of potential trusted sites for new kits. 😊
    (Now to save up to get the JWalls I want...international shipping from Germany is stunning!)

      This is correct. Currently, I believe only A&S actually has items currently for sale, but Bella Art Diamonds in the process of getting new images rendered and Dreamer Designs is supposed to be releasing four or so of her previously published paintings.

    This was great! At first i was giving DAC (manufacturers) the benefit of the doubt because HL (Disney) was "using their renders". And Disney, once their contract ends with, say Scentsy, cannot make wax warmers identical to the ones scentsy was manufacturing. But HL (Disney) is not doing that, she is creating a new render for her ip. DAC (scentsy) has no say since the renders (schematics) are different and they have no say how HL uses her IP. DAC only owns the original renders.

    I prefer the DAC rendering. I watched Shay do an Art and Soul for Oz in Aug. The skin tone on the A&S one looks strange. I will likely try A&S but not a Hannah Lynn or anything with a flesh tone of any sort.

      @knits4sanity  3 месяца назад

      I thought about trying to look at skin tones, but I feel like it isn't fair to do that until the painting is at least in progress. It's simply too hard to judge how something will look before the drills are placed, but I have some of these same questions and am eager to see how it looks!

    I think this was great but not completely fair. It’s really easy to look at a kit several years old and improve on that kit. Art & Soul has the benefit of looking over DAC kits and making major improvements. When DAC has 47 colors, it’s easy to add 17 more to make your kit (A&S) a little more detailed… I hope you’ll be able to compare two kits put out around the same time even if they are different to make a little fairer comparison… Great job on your video…

    • @knits4sanity
      @knits4sanity  3 месяца назад +2

      Yes, the fact is, everyone knows what the original DAC kit looked like, and A&S had the opportunity to improve upon it. I am not, however, completely convinced that they did. I have to reserve judgment until both paintings are done. I tried to keep this as unbiased as possible. Truth be told, I actually tend to prefer paintings with fewer colors than more.

    • @Solsiva
      @Solsiva 3 месяца назад +4

      I think that's easy to say, but I don't know if in practice that's true. I'm not a fan of this artist, but I do think the render is notably different. Is it different enough? I'm sure the courts will decide if it gets there.
