    Thank you for posting this. I am a single mom and I lost my Dad 4 years ago. Its been a number of years since I had to use a caulking gun and I forgot to puncture the canister. No wonder it wasn't working! RUclips videos are so helpful now that I don't have my Dad to call and ask.

      I struggled with the same issue! I lost my dad almost 7 months ago and I sure miss him for this same reason!! He was always a phone call away from helping me, or a visit from him and the issue was solved!! I’m a single mom with 3 kids and I’ve been trying to fix my bathroom floor around the tub, and putting if off bc I am unsure of myself and being afraid I’d mess it up!!
      Thank you for your help with this! Also, sorry for your loss of your father!!

    Glad to see someone covering simple things that a lot of us take for granted. We all have to learn sometime. A couple of tips if I may: TAKE YOUR TIME AND GO SLOW! This will give you a nicer job with less waste. If you are caulking more than one thing or taking a coffee break, twist and pull back the cup arm. if you don't, you will have a nice puddle of caulk to clean up! If doing a bathtub, either sit in it or fill it with water first. If you caulk an empty tub, the weight of the water will pull it away from the edge. Caulking it with weight allows it to compress when the water or you are removed!

    Its great that for all the how-to videos on caulking this is the FIRST one to show how to poke open the tube after cutting it. Not too many nails the length of that tube end. I can see other people watching other videos wondering why the caulking is not coming out. LOL

    • @heiditaylor6206
      @heiditaylor6206 2 года назад

      Yes!! I have thrown so many tubes away because caulk explodes out of the tube because I squeeze SO hard wondering why it doesn’t come out! I figured I had a bad gun or tubes so I gave up Oh my gosh!!🤦‍♀️ Now I’ll use my gun and it’ll work!

    I had forgot the tube needs to be punctured before placement in the caulk gun. Thank you for saving me more aggrevation with your easy step by step instruction. I also learned to read clean-up with some caulks just need soap and water while some silicone caulk will require mineral spirits for clean-up. Again thank you.

    When you use silicone caulk and it dries up, just put the tip in a glass of boiling water and it'll melt it and it comes right out.

    Thank you for this tutorial. I heard that if you push out a bit of caulking when you're done, it will act like a plug that when you're ready to use again, you can pluck out of the end of the tube and the fresh caulk should be ready to go. I'm going to try that too.
