I have the same staywet pallette. It's just too big to be useful. Copper pennies help keep your paint from getting moldy, but you need way more than in the smaller staywet palettes. Also keeping the palette in the fridge helps. Liquitex has a palette rewetting spray if it dries out, or a drop of vegetable glycerin in each color makes acrylics dry much slower like golden open acrylics.

Woah, you are a wealth of knowledge!! I’ve never heard of the penny thing 🤔 the more you know! I think I’ll need a bigger fridge if I’m going to keep my palette in there 😂

@@pepostudios I just use a smaller staywet palette. I think the ginormous one is more for muralists, but even then you need an assistant :P I mean the paper you are using is smaller than the palette. I also found that I liked regular watercolor gouache instead of acrylagouache because the whole staywet situation was too much of a hassle. Turner's is great and m.graham is great too. You might also look into squirrel brushes. They are very soft but hold lots of water. Natural brushes will help giving you larger more even washes. Chinese calligraphy brushes are also good ones to try.

I have the Prismacolor col-erase but haven't tried painting over a sketch yet; I'd love to see how you use the pencils with your painting practice.

The holbein acryla gouache is really very nice. I have tried turner acryla gouache and it is nice too but holbein is much more creamy and it just feels nicer to use. And I have also tried Liquitex and it also nice....but holbein is still my number one.

I think I need to keep giving the Holbein some more tries! I found it to be surprisingly more liquid than I expected, but likely just need to keep playing with it! I am curious to get a few more colors, though.
