    I adopted one of these in parts from the local weavers guild in Ottawa, I was terrified I had no castle but then after searching I found the original counter balance picture. Now I find this video and am super happy. I still have to restore the parts, but am excited as I think I have everything.

    I have the very same loom named Greta after the original owner who passed away and handed it down to a friend, whom I then bought it from. After many hours searching videos, and the Leclerc site, I found some archived manuals with instructions on how to put her together. Then I discovered your video and it was like wow! That’s my loom! I am a new weaver, learning from RUclips and I so appreciate all your videos! I started with a 16 inch rigid heddle and now have my Greta too. I can’t thank you enough for your videos, I am very grateful you are sharing your knowledge😊

      Oh wow!!! That's awesome 😄 Maybe Greta and Marjo are some long lost twins 😂
      I'm glad to know that you are enjoying my videos! This means a lot to me and it encourages me to keep making them! Thank you 🥰

    Thank you for the assembly demonstration. I have a loom like this, but have no idea how to use it. I hope to learn . Your videos have been helpful and encouraging.

    Thanks for this video. I too have acquired a Leclerc Nilus II Counter Balance that is from the early 80’s or earlier. It’s all in pieces and needs cleaning as I go along.

    Today I cleaned and assembled. I didn’t quite understand what I had when I watched your video last night, but have the same exact loom. I think a few pieces were swapped out but I have the same stamp and construction. I was thinking I was missing parts because the more modern brake system is different. This one is much simpler. I look forward to watching you set the warp on your first project.
    Thanks for making this video. I am not sure what I would have done with out it.

      Wow that's awesome! I'm so glad that I could help you out 😄 I'm currently about half-way through putting my first warp on this loom! Hopefully, I can get the video out in a few weeks 😊

    I need to see the break section mine does not have a tension coil or mine might be a little older than yours

    • @Curly_n_Yarny

      Mine also doesn't have a tension coil. It's just a long metal pin attaching the break pedal to the break system. They are oldies but goodies :D

    I wish I'd seen the S-hook adjustable roller a week ago, I've been making a floor loom and I spent SO LONG trying to make two identical roller cords!

    • @garybenson
      @garybenson 3 года назад

      PS if you do anything like this again, it helps them go in if you put wax on screws, I use beeswax but you can just scratch them on a candle to get a little on the point

    • @Curly_n_Yarny
      @Curly_n_Yarny  3 года назад

      Oh no! I least now you know for a next time 🙃 It still takes some time to adjust them to be identical though, but it probably goes faster than with normal cords. And thank you for the tips! I'll have to try wax next time 😊

      Oh!! Vous êtes chanceuses! Le cercle de fermière pourrait peut-être vous aider à figurer le tout! Sinon, il y a plusieurs videos sur RUclips. Personellement, je n'en ai pas encore fait sur ce métier, mais ça s'en vient un jour 😊

    Hello, I've just acquired this very same loom and I am struggling with the roller cords. could you please share with me the length of the lower roller cords (in inches if possible)? Floor looms are new to me as well, and I am anxiously awaiting watching a video on you warping this beauty! I don't know what to do first!

    • @Curly_n_Yarny

      First of all, congratulation on your new loom!
      I'm currently in the process of warping my loom and it might be hard to take the cords out to measure them. Still, I can tell you that I bought them at Camilla Valley Farm. Here's the link www.camillavalleyfarm.com/weave/loomparts3.htm#16. I bought item "88800-0081 lower cords set" and they seem to work. I hope this helps you!

    New subscriber. :) Thank you so much for this video!!
    I have bought a Inca. I found the manual on the same Leclerc site as your's.
    I am a total newbie to floor looms. I can't figure out how to connect the brake bar. There is a screw hole near the brake and a tapered block near the pedals. Does the brake bar go on top or under that block?
    Thank you again!! I had no idea how to put the shafts in. :)

      Welcome to my channel and congrats on your new loom 😄
      I'm not familliar with their Inca loom, but maybe the break system is similar to mine. I find it hard to understand/explain without seeing it. If you want, you can send me an email with pictures at curlynyarny@gmail.com 😊 and I'll try to help you as much as I can!

      On this loom, I cannot change the height of the top bar. It sits at the very top of the loom. I hope it helps!

      Bonjour! Est-ce que vous savez sur quel modèle de métier Leclerc votre métier a été copié? Le mien est une vieille version des Mira et le frein n'a pas de ressort. Je doute que nous aillons le même modèle. Je vous invite à m'écrire par courriel pour que je puisse vous faire parvenir des photos. Mon adresse est le curlynyarny@gmail.com

    Please go much slower in the talking as well as the demo. I wanted to focus on the tie up but you went so quickly that I couldn't follow. I wish you would show one step at a time slowly.

    • @Curly_n_Yarny
      @Curly_n_Yarny  2 года назад

      I'm sorry, the focus of this video wasn't how I tie-up a loom. I understand this is something you would enjoy seeing. I can try to film that for another video. I make those videos in my spare time and it takes a lot of time and effort to make them. I try to give as much info as I can while still being interesting. I appreciate knowing what you would like to see.
      In the mean time, if you feel like I'm talking too fast, there is a way to slow down the playback of the video in the settings. I hope this helps!
