Thanks for the nice review Seth Rogan
Came here for that 🤣🤣
God dammit I can’t unimagine this…
I’m getting the feeling mindlessly getting the Apple TV 4K may have been a suboptimal decision.
I´m still using the pro 2015 (3GB ram) 500GB storage with sd card slot etc.. game controller with rechargeable battery still holding too.
The best Android TV hands down had this device since it came out never bought another android box since.Peace love and Respect.
You dont know what you are talking!
I've got all brand tv boxes . Is full of bugs , and image quality is one of the worse, compare to any other box.
@@danieliorga2000 Name a box that stand up to the sheild? smhh u just looking for conversation peace love and respect.
@@brentknow292 you're absolutely correct!!! I still have the 2017 pro version and I may get either this or the 2019 Pro version for my room when the new 2022 televisions hit the market. This is the best streaming device on the market and it's not even close. You can play not just modern games but also retro games if you download a simulator. Great device indeed.
Are you from Trinidad 🇹🇹? If so, my father is from Belmont.
Bro I born and raise in Central go back to labrea area.Big up to Belmont Love is love through out Trinidad and Sweet Tobago big up your self and family to mah brother.Peace love and respect in the house.
skip this and get the shield pro, you'll be glad you did......
why?
@@jsomhorst do your research and you'll see why
Better design and something something something USB and 64 bit the experts will say .. I dunno for just streaming games there’s no difference so I don’t get into all that other stuff.
I don't game, should I still go for it? Seems like a waste of money to me.
@@Filip_Phreriks buy it and try it out, if you don't like you can return it simple
Just bought one for a gift, which happens to avoid buying a new, "smart" TV. Thanks for the video
Pro for the home. This for frequent travellers. 👨🏽✈️
So is this what is needed to stream HD Audio to my tv? Long story short, I finally upgraded to a full 5.1 home theater setup, but some of my ripped files on my computer won't stream proper audio to the tv (roku). From my limited understanding, the tv can't passthrough HD audio like this to the ARC connection to the AVR to play. I have a DTS HD track but the plex media server forces the second, stereo, commentary track to play instead.
From my little bit of research, it seems this shield is the only device capable of taking lossless audio and passing it to the avr?
From what I've read this seems to be correct. This is also why I'm looking for one
Only reason I'm shopping for this is because Smart TVs don't have the apps an Android TV has. And this is much cheaper than an Android TV.
Would you recommend it for those who want to play old games on emulators
I thought there is a 2021 release? Is that a pro version only?
The minimal ad interface itself enough to buy this device.
Has no competition, it's the best by far...
I bought it and i don't recommend it at all why, first sometimes it glitches with the new Android update and second the problem with some games not running or having some issues is because this Tegra X processor is a 32bit some app will not run well. I highly recommend the pro version that is 64bit
What about Kodi?
@@jedimojojojo1603 it run fine with Kodi, the problem is when Google started to add ads in there new update in Android tv. I just don’t like Kodi app in the NVidia Shield I prefer using Plex.
@@jedimojojojo1603 Plex and Kodi suck vs Jellyfin.
@@jenovaizquierdo Jellyfin is superior to Plex.
@@PSYCHOV3N0M thank you I will check Jellyfin to see how it is, but for me Plex doesn’t suck at all I love the user interface and how easy it is to use, and about Kodi I don’t think it suck because there is many things you can do, I just do not like it that all for me.
So you prefer a rechargable battery (which goes bad eventually), instead of easily replaceable AA batterys?
2:39 "It doesn't support Plex Media Servers" ?
...meby that was 1 year ago...but i can see from this video the Plex apk !
Can someone confirm if it supports Peacock, Paramount+, and Disney+?
Does it work well for streaming games from my second bedroom to my tv in the lounge? I want to get this or a ps5?
I have a good pc in my bedroom.
Yes it works. You can even stream 4k content from an AMD system. There are absolutely ZERO issues
I had problems with nvidia shield tv when using my IPTV provider, i had to switch back to using my Formular box and ive not had any issues since.
With no RUclips hdr, hdr10+ or hlg I have finally retired the shield to the bedroom tv. My go to steamer is now the fire cube tv 3rd gen. Much faster interface, supports all the latest hdr formats, don’t get me wrong it still has it downfalls being usb 2.0 and no gigabit Ethernet but I connect via Wi-Fi 6
Awesome video. I want to check andriod tv
Android build-in TV sucks. Search for blurry issue you find tons of threads
Can it run from hdmi to usb c? I’m trying to setup a portable monitor for streaming at my desk and they only have usb c or mini hdmi
dont play games ,cant install it under the tv ,stream provider tells me to dump the amazon tv box i have atm will this be ok for what i need just tv viewing
I got the PRO version just for Dolby TrueHD and DTS Dolby HD MA passthrough. Best decision I ever made.
I thought this one have those lossless formats too?
@@jcdizon7435 I believe the Shield will bitstream anything without any processing. So yes.
Great with emulation with the skinnier shield controller hrhe
Can I get free sports from around the world like on a Superbox?
i thought the whole reason it was a tube was that it would go behind the tv down with the wires, never to be seen
Does the shield tv stick support gigabit Ethernet???
Yes
The fact this 3x the cost of the competition and doesn't come with an HDMI cable is ridiculous.
Nein
What i hate about it is the way you connect the wires at each end. It looks tacky. You cant hide them because you need line of sight for the remote. Other than that it's great.
This one is designed to be inline with power cord of the TV. Remote doesn’t need line of sight to the streamer. IR on remote is for TV and AVRs
It’s perfect to zip tie it behind tv stand no need to see it works great just get a Bluetooth mini keyboard and it’s great.
I buy it mainly for the ai upscaling. None does this… yet with casting shady streams or just videos with less quality. Ai upscaling does wonder especially since i use it on my BenQ 4k videoprojector
32 bit mosty hype It both pro and tube should not be worth more than 125$
Wow that looks like sht…… kan we please go bak to the rektangular design.
The cylindrical shape of the unit and triangular shape of the remote is really weird, impractical and unattractive at all.
