That's good, my switch was $199.99 and has physical controls while being portable. Also didn't have to waste time tinkering with anything. Atm: steam deck> switch> ps5 (PS5 is nearly dead to me).

People always try to compare Playstation and Xbox as if the two companies have the exact same goals which makes absolutely no sense. Also, Starfield still made shit ton of money, bad games can still sell really well with good marketing. It would've been the highest revenue game of 2023 if not for Baldur's Gate 3 and Hogwarts Legacy. The only people who lost money from that game are all the unfortunate souls who bought it. Sorry to say but Starfield made Bethesda over a billion in revenue.

Eventually the process gets refined enough and they find ways to cut costs so that that number is either shrunken or eliminated, e.g. the PlayStation 5 having achieved a state where current units are actually sold for more than they cost to make individually, but between the MASSIVE R&D costs up front, and the fact that at the very minimum at launch the consoles themselves cost more to produce individually, than they're sold for, they're not a profit producer directly. Cutting themselves out of the hardware game entirely and just throwing their games everywhere that can run them is actually the strongest move they can make in terms of sheer customer acquisition to profit conversion.

Xbox isn't about consoles... it uses its consoles to get people in to they brand but never about they console. I got so many friends that only have Xbox consols because they can't afford a PC and it's amazing that I can cross play with them a ton of games that we play together. PS has a really good line of games but most of their player base play sports games and only play the "popular hyped" games at the time. It actually does make sense... At this point people have already decided what platform they're gonna play on, so exclusives won't really sell that many more consoles. Xbox stands to make more money from selling games to a bigger audience at this point. Could also build a bigger fanbase for xbox owned series for when the next gen rolls around, so they can become exclusive and sell more consoles when it counts.

Tbh, I don't care. I play Xbox Series X, Nintendo Switch, Playstation 5, and PC. Yes, PC is above consoles on the fact you have the fact you can upgrade the PC a LOT easier as parts become worn, obsolete, or broken compared to consoles, especially internals. But as well, one huge and I mean HUGE downside to PC is the modders/cheaters. Especially to well known games like GTA5. Consoles don't have that bad of modders. The modders on consoles either are on old gen consoles, making them rarer to encounter or most find a way to mod for offline play.

Have to say it seems the digital storefronts are offering much better deals on consoles now which is nice to see though and ofc not against anyone playing a game on the hardware that is accessible for them just wouldn't say it wasn't worth it getting a PC just for the exclusives. A lot of games come out on PC first and eventually get poor console ports but it's often the other way round too both platforms have pros and cons but PC is definitely the most complete gaming experience imo at least at this time.

Gamepass and turning gaming into a streaming service has been their focus as it proved to be far more lucrative. People always try to compare Playstation and Xbox as if the two companies have the exact same goals which makes absolutely no sense.
Also, Starfield still made shit ton of money, bad games can still sell really well with good marketing. It would've been the highest revenue game of 2023 if not for Baldur's Gate 3 and Hogwarts Legacy. The only people who lost money from that game are all the unfortunate souls who bought it. Sorry to say but Starfield made Bethesda over a billion in revenue.

Eventually the process gets refined enough and they find ways to cut costs so that that number is either shrunken or eliminated, e.g. the PlayStation 5 having achieved a state where current units are actually sold for more than they cost to make individually, but between the MASSIVE R&D costs up front, and the fact that at the very minimum at launch the consoles themselves cost more to produce individually, than they're sold for, they're not a profit producer directly. Cutting themselves out of the hardware game entirely and just throwing their games everywhere that can run them is actually the strongest move they can make in terms of sheer customer acquisition to profit conversion.

To be fair Xbox could be just turned into a massive game studio and just release stuff for pc and share with PlayStation, mostly because at the time consoles came out it was because not everyone could afford a pc and if they could it wouldn’t run games to well but currently most of everyone has a pc and if they don’t or don’t have a strong enough one they could just add more cloud gaming support and then not only do they sell games now they also have more people paying for a subscription that is actually good and being that Xboxes are sold at a loss that means that their total revenue would actually go up by a lot

It actually does make sense... At this point people have already decided what platform they're gonna play on, so exclusives won't really sell that many more consoles.

But as well, one huge and I mean HUGE downside to PC is the modders/cheaters. Especially to well known games like GTA5. Consoles don't have that bad of modders. The modders on consoles either are on old gen consoles, making them rarer to encounter or most find a way to mod for offline play.
PC is also really expensive

It's not being divided, it's just that new Spiderman games are made BY Sony. So they would literally not exist if they weren't exclusive to Playstation.
Also it isn't really a console wars issue as much as it is Sony owning the Spiderman IP. They are not gonna let a third party develop a Spiderman game if they can make one themselves, arguably more effectively
