      It just has a notch that the crimped end fits into it. Does the same thing the players do but focuses the force a little better

    That tool works great as long as you're not unconfined space like working on an RV

    Just stick a screwdriver under the exposed end, and it pops right off without twisting it.
    Then heat the tubing just a little with a heat gun so it comes off easier.

      Hi! Great tip, I just need to know what you mean when you said the exposed end. Is that where the steel clamp pinches, to stick the screw driver at where it pinches?

      Very often maybe in. A house under a sink or in a basement? Try the back of these new RVs with Nautilus System is A Cluster fk of Hot and Cold hose with all cheap junk plastic fittings! I just redone mine with brass and Copper with rubber seals!

    Then I use my lighter to warm up the pipe and it comes off the fitting

      Yes, if it’s no damaged. Don’t use a knife to cut off the pipe, which could damage the fittings, instead use lighter or torch to soften the plastic and it will easily slide off.

    Screw a Screw with a drill into the hole on the clamp and it stretches it out. It works great And you're not pulling on the hose or the clamp.

      This is hardened steal, the side cutter won’t cut through them easily.

    Dont ever use stainless crimp rings, especially if you are on your own. You will have more failures than you will with copper crimp rings, i guarantee you. Lawsuits, lawsuits, lawsuits... trust me. I learned my lesson.

      Not true, stainless clamps are superior to copper clamps. Copper corrodes. Stainless does not. Also copper cinch is flawed in design clamps pex too tight.

      People say the stainless steel rings only cover 3/4 of the pipe but it covers the whole thing. Look past the crimp part it wraps around the entire pipe and it has a tight seal just like the copper but better because the copper rings will corrode

      You do you. Lawsuits? They have to prove liability. So using an approved up to code component to a tried and true installation? I don't see how that would make you liable as the installer. Unless you crimped it together using a pair of dykes then yeah that's on you.

    Home Depot has it. Apollo pinch clamp removal tool. I thought there were three methods. Cinch, Crimp and Expansion.

      That is one of the reasons these clamps leak because some people ruin their calibration on their tool buy using the tool the wrong way.

    The First time you tried to twist stainless clamp on a plastic fitting would probably break not the stainless clamp

    So its probably not recommended but in certain situations with certain crimpers you can turn them sideways and "bite" the loop off without twisting on it. Would only recommend if you have nice hardened jaw crimpers that didn't cost too much and obviously as needed only.

    Never knew pex had pinch clamps, always though you used a crimp ring and a crimp tool. This isn't residential pex huh???

      It's very common, and mainly because they're able to be installed in tight areas where there's no way to use the copper ring crimping tool due to the handles needing to open up nearly 180 degrees to get them over the ring.
      I can't figure out why no one's designed a tool with a ratcheting mechanism or something to enable it to be used with less than 90 degrees of clearance.

    Yeah, I have one of those tools. It doesn't work that way. I use a small flat head screw driver and then I use a pair of dikes and remove the ring gently so I can preserve the fitting and The water line.
