Just stick a screwdriver under the exposed end, and it pops right off without twisting it. Then heat the tubing just a little with a heat gun so it comes off easier.
Hi! Great tip, I just need to know what you mean when you said the exposed end. Is that where the steel clamp pinches, to stick the screw driver at where it pinches?
Very often maybe in. A house under a sink or in a basement? Try the back of these new RVs with Nautilus System is A Cluster fk of Hot and Cold hose with all cheap junk plastic fittings! I just redone mine with brass and Copper with rubber seals!
Yes, if it’s no damaged. Don’t use a knife to cut off the pipe, which could damage the fittings, instead use lighter or torch to soften the plastic and it will easily slide off.
Dont ever use stainless crimp rings, especially if you are on your own. You will have more failures than you will with copper crimp rings, i guarantee you. Lawsuits, lawsuits, lawsuits... trust me. I learned my lesson.
Not true, stainless clamps are superior to copper clamps. Copper corrodes. Stainless does not. Also copper cinch is flawed in design clamps pex too tight.
@@Xena_420 you're*. You + are = you're If you're gonna tell me I'm wrong, can you at least please try to use proper grammar? Contractions are like 3rd grade level.
People say the stainless steel rings only cover 3/4 of the pipe but it covers the whole thing. Look past the crimp part it wraps around the entire pipe and it has a tight seal just like the copper but better because the copper rings will corrode
You do you. Lawsuits? They have to prove liability. So using an approved up to code component to a tried and true installation? I don't see how that would make you liable as the installer. Unless you crimped it together using a pair of dykes then yeah that's on you.
So its probably not recommended but in certain situations with certain crimpers you can turn them sideways and "bite" the loop off without twisting on it. Would only recommend if you have nice hardened jaw crimpers that didn't cost too much and obviously as needed only.
It's very common, and mainly because they're able to be installed in tight areas where there's no way to use the copper ring crimping tool due to the handles needing to open up nearly 180 degrees to get them over the ring. I can't figure out why no one's designed a tool with a ratcheting mechanism or something to enable it to be used with less than 90 degrees of clearance.
@@irfanfarid Bhahahaha... I know what it really stands for... My point is the if you work with PEX be prepared to buy a bunch of special equipment that is only useful when working with PEX
Yeah, I have one of those tools. It doesn't work that way. I use a small flat head screw driver and then I use a pair of dikes and remove the ring gently so I can preserve the fitting and The water line.

That tool works great as long as you're not unconfined space like working on an RV
@@barryrainey556 yes that is true, and that also applies to most other types of tools. 👍

Just did my basement with copper. I love that stuff.
Thank you! Pex is, well chez.
Do you also do your drain lines with cast iron & leaded joints?😅
Then I use my lighter to warm up the pipe and it comes off the fitting
I just spray some gas on the whole tube and burn it all till it melts to the floor

Can you reuse the fitting

if brass yes
Knipex makes a pair of pliers that work great for these and they save the clamp so you can reuse it
Wire cutters always work perfect
Hello , what is the tool you are using , thanks
“pex cinch clamp removal tool”
I got mine from home depot
Thank you
Try the actual crimp tool, it works and no damage to the tool.
Every homeowner that uses PEX knows where the closest hardware stores are at.
Screw a Screw with a drill into the hole on the clamp and it stretches it out. It works great And you're not pulling on the hose or the clamp.
where can i get the tool or whats the name to the tool?
I got mine from Home Depot but you can search “PEX-B Pinch Clamp Removal Tool” on Google to find seller near you.
What's the difference between using that socket tool vs pliers and twisting it off the same way?
Yes but it’s little harder with pliers if you don’t have a strong grip.
Pair of side cuts work great for me
This is hardened steal, the side cutter won’t cut through them easily.
I give it a try anyways. 😊
That is so formidable
they both scrap the clip no?
Don’t understand what you’re asking?
Crescent wrench not Channellocks
You must mean adjustable wrench.
You must work for Crescent.
So, squeezing pliers and twisting doesn’t work? I wish I’d known. Particularly after all these years of using pliers and not having any problems.
A blow dryer works good too to take the hose off
What about an adjustable wrench , it would do the same function
I use a dremel and a thick-ish slotting/abrasive wheel
Where do I get one?

Thanks just did 7 showers, I will get one, thanks for replying back to me.
Linemans pliers, screwdriver or my favorite-side cutters.
Wouldn’t the wrench be able to do the same thing???
Oh wow. I used linesman cutters with an ape grip for too long lol
It would be nice to be able to see the tool longer than you showed it because I don't know what it looks like
Sorry 🙏

I just use wire cutters cause I would not want to reuse anyway.
That works too and also a flat head screwdriver 🪛:

You can get the correct pliers to remove those clips
Home Depot has it. Apollo pinch clamp removal tool. I thought there were three methods. Cinch, Crimp and Expansion.
I just use the cinch clamp tool that clamps and removes clamps
That is one of the reasons these clamps leak because some people ruin their calibration on their tool buy using the tool the wrong way.
@irfanfarid not me. The tool has a setting that is for cinch ring removal
Or use the tool that was made for it…..boot clamp pliers would work also cuz it’s meant for those
The First time you tried to twist stainless clamp on a plastic fitting would probably break not the stainless clamp

The correct way would be to use copper rings. Not them junk things.
Not a lot of difference of a special tool rotating / breaking the clamp or a pliers doing the same motion & I already have a pliers.
Yeah, a dedicated tool for that one little job. I just use a pair of end nippers at work...
Try it,
