I had the 11’’ for about a year. Recently I upgraded to the 12.9 and I’m not disappointed at all. It’s a personal thing that depends on preference but when you factor in using Split View with a reference or anything else alongside your drawing app you can’t debate the extra real estate is a huge pro…and to be frank the size difference is not something that your brain/body will always be aware of. As long as you find comfortable ways of drawing it’s really not a huge difference in terms of mobility and comfort. But man the attention to detail and composition you can have on a larger screen just can’t be beat!
Love your insight! I got the 11inch after my M1 12.9 randomly stopped charging entirely. I regret not getting such a size sooner. I love that it’s portable and lightweight and for me who was born premature, it’s the perfect size for my little alien hands ✨🥰 I do think that 12.9 could be beneficial to some artists, but 11inch is perfect enough in terms of screen size.
I do a lot of writing and prefer the the 12.9 inch, I love writing in portrait mode and felt the 11 inch was too small. i got the apple folio cover to keep it light.
I do take it! 😅 but I have to know that I will have a chance to actually use it. Otherwise I will end up carrying it (and its own bag) for no reason. I hope that makes sense😂
If you are a pro, there’s no reason to go with the 11. I have the 12.9 and my wife has an 11. It’s not like the 11 is easy to carry anyway. If it’s not pocketable, then go big big. I can’t deal with 11 for painting now that I have this one
@@GgoldspiderS I just realized your comment is 7 months old so you must have something by now. That's awesome! Congratulations. What generation did you get?
@@XtianApi I got the 2022 with 265 GB, and I really enjoy the apple pencil experience and how I could draw with a single tab, and without sticking to the desk and wires 😅
I think I'll get a 11 inch ipad pro for drawing and general use outside home. Because 12.9 feels like a laptop and I'd rather buy an actual laptop instead for some heavy work and gaming
I am an artist and I've had my iPad Pro 11" for about 3 years now. I've been trying to decide if I want to upgrade to the 12.9" because of the bigger real estate, but I'm worried if it's too big for me! I do love carrying my iPad out to cafes to work on my art, so portability is very important for me. I think after watching your video, I will stick to 11" xD
I would say stick with it! You can always carry the 12.9 but it just isn't as easy. I take it out when I know for sure I will be using it. I take no chances 😂
I wanted to buy the 12.9 inch iPad Pro 4, because everyone keeps saying how more screen space is so much better. But I ended up buying the 11 inch model because I found the paper textured magnetic screen foil and I really didn’t want any non-magnetic foil for mine. And these comments make me glad that I got the 11 inch model.
It's tough because I want to use it professionally for illustration specifically, but I want to use it frequently for coffee shops... I don't like the big bulky attention from strangers that the 12.9 inch will give me but I don't know if I'll be annoyed of the 11inch being a tad small. I went to the apple store and felt like the 11 inch felt a little better for me, but it's never easy to tell unless you've been using it for hours
@@imhaydenmelrose It worked out, I'm actually happy with it. It's better to have too much space than not enough I feel. It sits nicely on my lap but I'll just have to deal with it being kind of apparent to those around me what I'm drawing, depending on how I'm sat. The 11 inch would probably be the same problems so 12.9 is worth it IMO
I would like to travel with the i-pad Pro and also draw or create with it. I own a 14" Mac Book Pro already that never leaves my house as it is too expensive!! It rarely leaves my desk.
Lmao the part with it doesn’t feel cute holding it thing… I totally get it!! I really do and no one talks about that with the iPads. I love taking my iPad Air with me everywhere. I feel the same about it like I do with my phone. The iPad Pro really isn’t as portable as the iPad Air/iPad pro 11 inch.
And now they have the 13 inch iPad Pro and I just got the Oct 2022 one in January for my birthday! I knew it was gonna happen sooner or later. But it beats the 1st 12.9 iPad Pro! I had something inside the first one that completely drained the battery if you used a bunch of applications. Nothing could fix that! I even had a new battery put in! That was a waste of money!
Thank you! It is 128gb and for about 2 years I am not anywhere near filling it up😊 butI strictly use it for art and media consumption and only have a couple movies saved on it.
Haha😂 I honestly have no regrets because I ultimately bought it for work and love the bigger screen for art. However I miss my smaller ipad as I said it felt more like a notebook that I would grab with me anywhere I go. A huge plus is that ypu can also use it as a laptop at some points. I used it to work with lots of google docs because my macbook was too old and slow😬
I feel uncomfortable if other people see my drawings while I draw in coffee shop or outside, I prefer draw without anyone seeing me. I also felt intimidated by the screen which was too big so it looked empty in some parts because it wasn't filled with images. does anyone think the same😂
I actually have fun with that! 😂 like I let them see the random scribbles I create, and watch their faces change as I move along! They are usually like:” how did you get there?!”😂
I designed a wooden stand for the 12.9 iPad and its working really well I can draw for 8 hours with no problems, let me know if you're interested to check it out.
If a device the size of a notebook sheet of paper is too big, what about newspaper or magazine size? I get it there are options and that’s great some may prefer different sizes for different reasons…..however too many claiming too big to carry my shoulder hurts! Planet fitness might be alternative? If a laptop of different sizes is classified as portable, positive this 12.9 can be carried around….and last but not least all of us do not require a keyboard constantly so why pack it….zugu
@@fike301 what I said is that it is too big to carry casually like going to the mall and taking it with me in case I had a chance to sit somewhere and draw. It will hinder the activities I am doing at the mall that day. And if I haven't had the time to use it I will be annoyed that I took it and wouldn't do it again. This has nothing to do with the gym really. I take my laptop out and it's bigger and heavier but I don't take it just in case that's my point, to help whoever needs it. Plus you clicking the video means you wonder the same too ;) only way to know is to try it out yourself!

yep - 11" is the best when you want to be mobile and drawing while holding it in your hand. the 12.9 is for the studio having a stand for it.

At first the 12.9 iPad felt huge after using it for a couple of months I feel it could be a little bit bigger like 16 inches
Wow! That would be a little too big. Unless of course you use it for art. This size ill then be crazy fun!
Well it says only 2 inch difference but the screen size is actually around 55% bigger than the 11 inch :D
Always brilliant Miss Aya,
Good luck 🌺

12 would have been awesome 🥲
apple is doing this on purpose to kinda force you to get the large one
When you held it it up, it looked WAY bigger than I was imagining it
I assure you it is BIG 😅

Ipad 11 or ipad 12.9 is best option for digital drawing mam?
Both are great, but the big one will be mainly for desk use. If you plan for taking it out on regular basis go for the 11”
