    Great recommendations. I love playing Spatter House is great. I own it digitally on PS4 and Steam. Namco is one of my favorite retro publishers.

    The thing I tell people about Super Potato is that yes they are more expensive but when you are on vacation and don't have a lot of time and just want to make sure you get those few games you want and ensure they are in great condition and work its one the best places

    Great video. Learned something new today, a few titles I never heard of. The design "game" was very interesting indeed. Especially considering the time it was developed, where you had to re-invent the wheel when you coded something as there were no tools like that for a lot of systems.

    Interesting list. I love Ballblazer on the 7800; the Famicom version is not nearly as impressive.
    GersuFumaDen has been rereleased; on Steam, there is 'GetsuFumaDen: Undying Moon'; the Deluxe edition includes the Famicom version.

    • @ScruffyLookinRGB
      @ScruffyLookinRGB  10 месяцев назад

      I'll have to give ballblazer another chance when I've got the time. Oh man undying moon is so well done I really enjoy the look of that game a fantastic successor to the original. The only travesty is there is no physical release for the switch.

    Great video, man! I need to keep an eye on Moaekun and Getsufumaden. Cool games!
    Also, Dezaemon was released in Japan for the N64 as well. A shooter that lets you design your own game. Cool that it was for the Famicom as well.

    Oddly enough Parodius Da wasn't a Famicom exclusive. There was actually a European PAL release of it as an NES game. I have both the PAL NES version and the Famicom version. My favorite Famicom exclusive is the Famicom port of Gradius II.

      Joy Mech Fight is very interesting, but kinda hard if you're not used to the kind of slightly mushy fighting system. Many of the moves are very slow, which makes it quite hard when the computer can roll out moves perfectly ^^; But I did enjoy playing it all the same.

    I was helping clear out the estate of an older man from Japan that passed away as a favor to his wife. She told me I could keep anything I wanted & one of the things I grabbed was a Japanese Super Famicom system with carrying case & numerous games, most of which are Japanese titles that I can't even begin to figure out the names of, in order to look them up so I know if I have anything rare, in order to price the whole set-up accordingly for sale. Does anybody have any suggestions or any interest in checking them out?

    Do you know how Nakano Broadway and Osaka Denden Town compare to Akiba in terms of price? I also saw that theres a HardOff in Sakai south of Osaka which I could fit into my itinerary. I'm going on a trip in April, and i'm not deep into game collecting, so not looking for anything super rare.

      I've never been to denden town but I've heard the prices are the same as akihabara. Nakano Broadway is also not any better for prices. If you want deals go to a bookoff or hard off anywhere except akihabara.

    Super Potato has a fun selection of Famicom games, but theirs is far from the best selection in Akihabara, I'd say. Both BEEP and Suruga-ya Game-kan have a lot more to offer, and honestly, so too does Trader #1. And all of them have better prices than Super Potato, to boot.

    • @ScruffyLookinRGB

      Surugaya definitely has a solid selection of games. Beep has a lot of cool pics but not so many famicom games tho.

    • @Wyrdwad
      @Wyrdwad 10 месяцев назад

      @@ScruffyLookinRGB Hmm. They always seemed to have a nice selection of Famicom games, I thought, but it has been a while since I last looked for Famicom games there. I collect for MSX, so for me, BEEP has always been the #1 spot, and I'm usually pretty laser-focused on that section. The MSX section there has shrunken in size in the last couple years, but is still really solid, and I sort of assumed the same had happened with Famicom, too.

    Paused at the 0:21 mark - ok, I'm genuinely curious, can someone please explain to me WHY Gimmick is that expensive?
    As a reddit user, I've seen people recommend Mr. Gimmick on the NES sub, and after I started buying Famicom games in 2022, I thought, look that one up... lol yeah, nope, I'm never going to be able to buy and play that one.

      It is just one of thoese rare games that came out at the end of the Famicom's life that turns out to be a legitimately good game. This game is one of many good reasons to get a flash cart so you can play these games on real hardware.
