when I thought I had already seen a "better episode" you come out with this one... your adventures and misadventures along with Rose's special humor make it necessary to enjoy them with a beer and some chips!! Greetings and I hope you fix that clutch I know we are all generals after battle... but, that clutch screamed for attention jajajaja!!
Ha ha! Thanks, Luis... we appreciate the kind words and the support. Yeah, I honestly did not know what was going on regarding the clutch until I already had a half dozen people pushing and pulling. Wouldn't like me. I couldn't figure out why the traction control was acting up so much... 😬😅😡
Man, you had me on the edge of my seat negotiating the collapsed section of the pass ! Rose, you married a madman….. but you’re superb in narrating his antics 😂 I can’t wait to see the next episode.
There might be times when you'll eye that Enduro 790 with envy, wishing you could zip through tight spots, but hey, isn't that what makes the adventure? At the end of the day, the best bike for the long haul is the one that's got your back (and your gear!) right now.
While chances are we'll always have the AT, Rose has been pushed out of the nest and will fly on wings (or wheels) of her own on our next adventure, and I will transition to something much lighter!!
I was a missionary in Bolivia for 10 years. They were starting to build the new road when we left. We had a lot of adventures on that old road. I miss the adventures but it was a pleasure seeing y’all take the ride. 👍
Only ten minutes into your new video and I am already thanking you for the streets scenes in La Paz. I had no idea. Now you are heading for the Death Road? He he. I do not want this trip to end!
Oh no, another cliff hanger! You guys are killing me!! Kudos to Chad for handling a big loaded adventure bike 2-up on those crazy streets and now on the Death Road. Very skilled! Very impressive!
What a place to burn out a clutch. Chad is gutsy, maybe sometimes too. I'm not second guessing him but what I saw was pretty impossible to navigate. Wishing you both well and good luck. Thanks for the video, really good stuff with excellent commentary.
Thanks so much. Yes, there's definitely a very thin line between being brave and being stupid. And I step over that line way more often than I should! 🤣
Well, that helps me decide! I am never 15:01 going to LA Paz. Btw. The Death Road sounds less inviting than a swim in Leech Lake. Great video, I missed you while I was out riding. Take care!
Ha ha... La Paz is great, just be sure to watch your 6:00! And if there's ever an excuse NOT to watch our videos, riding is it!! Glad you were out there twisting some throttle! 🍻
@TwoWheelsThreeSheets It is good TV when you break down, but it terrifies me. I love how chill you are about it! I will watch part two and see if you died.
Chad showed he has got skill riding those hilly roads with two up and heavily loaded. I have said it before and I will say it again. I don’t trust Google maps. Happy you survived the Death Road. Not so sure if the Africa Twin survived. Looking forward to the next video.
Wow what an adventure ride it is, hats off to you guys😊 it was thrilling experience watching on TV can’t imagine what level of experience you would have faced 😃love from India
I thought the La Paz streets were crazy enough, not untill Death Road came knocking. I'm an andrenaline junkie but this one episode found me tightening my buts harder than any other. Taking into consideration of the weight of the bike, a "mad" man on the steering, and a cheerleader of a woman, at such elevation, on a strip of damaged road. I found myself mumbling that i cannever take such a risk come rain come sunshine. Kuddos man. I swear, you are a legend by yourself.
Bwaa ha ha! Well, thank you.. and yes, my butt it was puckered a bit as well. But hey, sometimes you got to just go for it. And sometimes, you've got a half-dozen people pushing and pulling while you're kicking and screaming!! 🤣
The AT definitely suffered on that one. By the time I even realized what was happening, I already had a half-dozen people pushing and pulling. It wasn't an ideal moment to call a time-out... 😅
Wow!!! Holy crap, let’s break this video down for the love of god, La Paz, that city, damn what do all these people do I wonder besides breed like rabbits, these people are really packed in there worse than sardines, road map hell, trying to get out of that maze is beyond comprehension, but you did, the death road, Chad, DEATH ROAD, my backside was puckered up u getting down that stretch where u fried your clutch, holy shit, of course if that nut from Australia can ride a friggin Road King on the death road, but of course that before road fell out from under itself, wow, I need to see this crazy video again, guess I like poking the bear, truly spectacular video guys, now hope u get out of that predicament your in, stay safe look forward to more abuse in your next video. Hang in there. Rob U.S.
Yeah, definitely a lot going on in this video. Back in the day, that used to run buses and large box trucks on the Death Road. The primary cause of accidents were people attempting to pass and rolling off the road into the abyss. So, when the road is "serviceable" (whatever that means), then a Road King would certainly be doable. Not sure I would want to try navigating that road slide on one, though!! 😬 Thank you for the kind words and for coming along for the ride!!
I realize that there aren’t a lot of options… but I am amazed at the faith you put in the Google maps that continually put you in places that you shouldn’t be
Bwaa ha ha! Yeah, we do complain about Google Maps a lot, and for good reason. But that said, it really is the best option for Latin America. Maps.me is our other go-to, but in many instances, we have found it to be less reliable than Google.
Another GREAT video. Thanks for sharing Bolivia..it may be very scenic.."romantic ".. BUT..limited fuel to foreign people..and this is 2024...just look at the roads.. ..and infrastructure of the city.. NOT to say the rest of the world is correct.. BUT surely the politicians and government can improve people's lives? Take care..enjoy the ride
Yeah, we didn't delve too deep into Bolivian politics, so hard to say what exactly is going on. That said, I do appreciate the ability to travel through countries that are a bit less tame. Bolivia certainly puts the adventure in adventure riding!!
I believe that when you arrived at the site of the landslide, you were unaware of the seriousness and danger of passing through that stretch with a loaded motorcycle. One small mistake was enough for a tragedy that could have been, at the very least, quite serious for Chad. Traveling by motorcycle is an incredible thing, but we can never neglect safety, as everything can end in a second... Congratulations on the incredible video and congratulations to Chad for his expertise in riding such steep streets with so much weight on his back. Rose has a lot of courage, few women would be so calm on the back looking at the cliff to the side. 😂
Rose is an absolute Trooper. I have yet to see her flinch! And yes, as soon as I came across that steep section with the baby heads and the loose terrain, the pucker factor definitely increased! The vantage point from Rose's point of view didn't look that bad, but sitting on top of that monstrous bike looking down into the abyss definitely got my attention!! 😵💫
Fantastic and well done me and the wife managed to fall off the bike twice in europe once at some lights into to a tunnel in the pyrenees the other at a blinking awkward junction at an angle in france, loaded up on an adv 😮😂 keep it up
Yeah, it's an issue with government subsidation of fuel and people coming in from foreign countries to buy cheap gas and resell it. I certainly understand their reasoning, but they do need to come up with an alternative way for foreigners to buy fuel...
I'm pretty sure the traction control was off, but that certainly didn't help the situation. I was certainly confused up until the point that I realized how screwed I was!! 😬🤣

Bolivian people are wonderful. We really enjoyed our time in the country. I realize that the gas issue is a law to discourage people from reselling subsidized fuel outside of the country. I don't hold it against anyone personally, it is what it is.... 🍻
