- "Bringing The Highwaymen to Life" is a behind the scenes look into the making of The Highwaymen. On Netflix March 29, 2019.
From director John Lee Hancock (The Blind Side), THE HIGHWAYMEN follows the untold true story of the legendary lawmen who brought down Bonnie and Clyde. When the full force of the FBI and the latest forensic technology aren’t enough to capture the nation’s most notorious criminals, two former Texas Rangers (Kevin Costner and Woody Harrelson) must rely on their gut instincts and old school skills to get the job done. THE HIGHWAYMEN also stars Kathy Bates, John Carroll Lynch, and Kim Dickens.

My stepfather - who grew up in that era, is nearly 100 years old, and normally can't sit through a whole movie - was captivated and watched this film from start to finish. He highly enjoyed it and said that the filmmakers absolutely nailed the costumes, cars, sets, and general feel of 1930s America. I think that's a pretty high compliment to the people who made this film.
One of the best films I've ever seen. Beautifully done, by everyone involved.
I’m excited I just wish it was a 3 or 4 part limited series
That would be pretty much the same in length. I don't get it. You can pause a movie on Netflix anytime you want. Don't kid yourself, you'd binge that limited series.
It's so cool that these actors get to drive these awesome cars.
They costumes and settings were really good! I love what they did with the actual location.
Really cool how the actual stretch was used and dirt was spread across the pavement.
I watched it twice this week. I’ve always been fascinated with Bonnie and Clyde and this was a great look into the how their own families stuck up for them and how the rangers perused them.
One of the best movies I have ever seen
I enjoy a good period piece because there has to be so much attention to detail- not just cars and clothes but locations, backdrops, props, set decoration, subtleties of speech and mannerisms, and even things like haircuts. Great film
In my top 20 all time films. I've watched it 20 times. For me that is what makes a great film, if u can re-watch it and love it. Bravo job
One of the best movies I’ve seen
I love this movie. Superb acting and beautiful cinematography. I've watched this probably a dozen times. And I could watch it again another dozen.
I thought this was TWD's Highwaymen. So sad they called the main guy off last episode. They had awesome potential. Would've made a cool story, though.
Kathy bates is an incredible actress
Before disliking do you even think how much effort is put into this.
I live in Louisiana so I’ve been to the ambush site it’s so overwhelming
Seen it a couple of days ago. Thanks to the whole team for making a believable period drama.
Love this movie, watched it afew times all ready. What interested me is watching the men who and how they brought down Bonnie Parker and Clyde Barrow. I will watch it again soon.
This movie was a Masterpiece ❤❤❤
Yes it was. Watched it 20 times
Wow, I honestly can’t wait!!
Nothing better for a historic film than shooting on location.
Love it cant wait to watch it
very excited for this movie! looks like a dang good time
Class ... nice hats nice suits ..... and of course the nicest guns and riffle ......⚜️👍
Awesome 👏
Definitely an underrated film.
I just watched this it’s my new favorite movie
Damn. The actual Frank Hammer was almost a twin of Kevin Costner. His partner looks similar too… they got the casting just right!
Fabulous
When he takes that Winchester 94 and cranked it ..... 👍😁
Looks good... I'll watch it... bring it on...
looking forward to watching it -- wish this segment wasn't so uhmmmm..... spoilery
Yeah, I was so disappointed to find out that Bonnie and Clyde died at the end before I even got to watch the movie.
It’s not a spoiler; this is based on a true story. It’s like if somebody told you that the titanic sunk before you watched the Titanic and you accused them of spoiling details.
@@jAdTheMister wait --- what?? haha JK
@@jAdTheMister wait the titanic sank?
good chemistry, there are still visible inconsistenies.
Man, I did not know they filmed the ambush where it actually happened...
This alone makes me want to go back to Netflix.
The Untouchables 2
I thought it's the story of the Highwaymen from The Walking Dead 😫😂😂😂
Srh Sgna *Spoilers*
RIP Ozzy😭
Srh Sgna Lol I'm embarrassed to admit, I did too🙈
THGamingHD He died a hero though😭😭😭
3 days!!!
Remember when Kevin Costner was one of the top actors in Hollywood? Woody Harrelson as well!!
Young blood has to take over
What's your point? Last decade, Paul Newman and Robert Redford were originally attached to star and they were once top actors, too.
Yes, I remember. And I'm glad that he has done almost all very good movies.
Cool
Wow
True Detective 2.0
Anyone else here from Netflix's tweet about historian's roles in film?

Great, underrated film. It got mediocre reviews from some critics I think because they can only be entertained by lots of spastic action and gratuitous sex and carnage. There is definitely violence (some of it graphic) but it is entirely within the historical context. It isn't exaggerated. The acting, dialogue and sets/costumes are entirely respectful of the period. I like the way the story builds up slowly. The main characters have to put thought and effort into tracking down the criminals. It isn't a first person shooter, because real life isn't like that.
Like si pensabas que era una serie o pelicula para los bandoleros de twd, porque los bandoleros en ingles se escribe "the highwaymen
My husband wants to see this.
How did they hide the monument at the shootout scene in the movie?
I wonder if they edited it out digitally, or maybe covered it with brush.
I thought this was for the walking dead
You can certainly spell...but you can't read?
@@merickful i just saw highway men and just clicked
Lol just the words walking dead, that's basically right, Bonnie and Clyde were those kind of people
netflix
I liked the movie. I wonder how much Hamer smoked. Every pic I have seen just about has him with a cig lol. That said, it is a wonder he didn't die of cancer instead of sun stroke, I think is what it was
La colline au lapain un autre épisode
I thought IT was the highwaymen from far cry New Dawn
Bonnie and Clyde killed by their own fam............ movies looks great.
hype
It's funny how when movies are set in the "olden days" have words and sayings from modern days. For example: Costner's says " Oh Judas Priest, get in" to partner. What?! I thought this movie depicted the 1930's, NOT in 1969 when the band was formed! Blooper!
Are you joking? "Judas Priest" has long been a euphemism for "Jesus Christ" even before the band came along. People have said it when they don't want to take the Lord's name in vain.
@@musicaltheatergeek79 Thanks. Never heard that before.
Well the highwaymens heads are on pikes now sooo
Ouch.
Who?

Um... spoiler alert?

What i want to see is the Teen Wolf Series on Netflix as they did once before and then they removed it and never put it back on again PLEASE PUT THE TEEN WOLF SERIES BACK ON NETFLIX
I saw this last night. I liked the character development of Hamer and Gault.
However as a historian, I had a hard time watching it due to the inaccuracies. Bonnie Parker never killed or even shot at anyone; Hamer never got in front of the car and told them to surrender; Ted Hinton was not a young rookie; and Bonnie and Clyde were not celebrities. Drawing attention to themselves would be the last thing they would want. They did not even have friends or connections that would hide them.
Just trying to keep this real before people start thinking it's historically accurate.
I think the "Bonnie never killed anyone" is debatable, especially regarding the highway patrolman. B&C biographers, who tend to sympathize with them, tend to believe the family version of events, that Henry Methvin was the shooter. Of course, their families always lied for them! But the official story of the Grapevine Murders according to the monument dedicated to the fallen officers, the Officers Down Memorial Page (which keeps track of all the nation's fallen officers/dogs), and the recent Frank Hamer biography is that Bonnie was responsible. Even the Biography Channel documentary on B&C, which you can watch on their website, blames Bonnie.
Also, Ted Hinton was a rookie sheriff's deputy when he was assigned to track down B&C. Previously, he had been with the post office and then became a deputy in 1933 upon the election of Sheriff Smoot Schmid, who had been a sort of mentor to him.
Furthermore, Bonnie & Clyde were very much criminal celebrities with admirers, especially after the sensational Joplin photos were published nationwide. Afterward, they were constantly on the road, trying to keep a low-profile, but their fame only grew with every gun battle/escape and murder. That's what they were known for, being elusive and always getting away. They made it known that they would shoot their way out of every trap, so they also developed this fearless reputation. They did have many people aiding them, which is partly how they were able to stay at large for so long. Less than a year after their deaths, 20 of their family/friends/accomplices were put on trial for harboring them.
Was gonna say a few things in rebuttal, but the other person here pretty much nailed it.
@@musicaltheatergeek79 Highly doubt that northern light is a historian. For a historian, his facts are highly warped. you did a great job rebutting it. I watched this movie during the christmas holidays and then watched this 2 more times to assimilate all the details. I am not from the US, so i had just the wikipedia perspective of bonnie and clyde. I am glad i came across frank hamer and maney gault's perspective. great movie based on great characters.

Bring Daredevil back to life or I’m canceling my subscription by Friday!!
I love daredevil myself but i think netflix doesnt care about your 10 bucks a moth
It’s true.....
Netflix IS trying to takeover RUclips 😭 NETFLIX GO HOME!!!
Why?
Doubt it gets much attention even thought its actually good. Feminist not interested because there is no over the top non-existent strong I know everything women dominating the men. The wife is a little bit and makes sure everyone knows its her new car but that is nothing for wild cat feminist. But weird hot it got made without some skinny 100 woman cop doing more and much smarter like most TV/movies. Fiction at its best.
Why bring up feminist? What are you talking about? Frank Hamers wife in this movie was a strong woman.
Please give me Netflix account I need it 💔💔
this movie sucked
Cool
