My heart is full of love after watching you all, God Bless You!
Amen
I'm really into the hexagon. It will be great when it's all done. Love this whole family. Sure miss all the other family members too.
Well we know this is not JUST a workshop, it is a going to be work of art!
Really enjoyed the soundtrack to this video.
So glad to see your "supervisor " 🐕 is back on the job🤣🥰
"Supervisor"? Do you mean Luna? Cuz, Bullet isn't in this vid.
I wish I could stay up to watch but the premiere isn't til 2 AM my time (I live in Belgium). So excited to see the progress in the morning, though!
Thanks for this weeks weekly peek 😊
Jared, I like the part of your haircut I could see from under your cap! And I love the ground level shot of the ants 🐜
Shelly and Bree, your wall design is beautiful. Bree I must say your blue line has the perfect ebb and flow around the shop.
Gary and Bryson, you two really work well together. Your skills complement each other.
And it looks like Bullet has taken a vacay from playing fetch and Ms Luna is picking up the slack 🐶
This is my favorite 15 minutes each Friday evening 💕
sweetest comment EVER!!!
Phenomenal! Looks great! Hexy
My brain is screaming that, if, for some weird reason, RUclips stops being such a success, you guys have your very own, family owned and operated, construction company. We've seen you guys build everything, including a few things that nobody thought were possible.
Great episode everyone. A lot of progress on the rocks over the windows and the hex tiles on the walls. If you decide to smooth out the texture of the hexagons you can spray them with water and then rub dry cement over them with a rag or burlap sack. This will fill the holes on the surface and give you a very smooth surface. Thank you for sharing your family and projects with us out here in YT land.
It looks so good! I can't wait to see the finished product.
So cool to see this thing progress. When you first started talking about it, I really didn't have the vision, but now I can't wait to see what it's going to look like all done. ..and I appreciate your commitment to keeping this channel going through life’s changes…
Another live chat thank you
I must say Gary and Shelly you raised amazing kids kudos to you. Have you considered doing an air BNB for the kids rooms? Or maybe educating volunteers on how to earth bag? If so sign me up for both
I wondered that and never verbalized it.
So what gives Gary & Shelly? Do we get education while staying in one of the rooms and volunteering on builds?
Really liking the look of the the rocks and pavers. You ladies are doing a great job.
I have used straight vinegar and toilet brush to remove the haze off the rocks. Remember to thoroughly rinse the vinegar off as you know it is on the acid end of the PH chart and your mortar is on the basic side. LOOKING GOOD!
Try swimming pool acid or cloor... A much better option.. I cleaned all my bricks in a much shorter time.. Just remember to rince Very Well...
..
It's looking really good. Luna looks like she is inspecting the building.
How exciting the building is coming together. Love the rocks and pavers!
The hexes are really starting to look like somethin'.
But yeah, if the cost isn't prohibitive, buy more molds. And you can use some of those leftover boards you have stacked up inside the shop, along with any concrete blocks you have lying around, to make some temporary shelves where the pavers can dry and cure. That'll take up less space than laying them out on the ground or on a table.
I'd love to see Bryson 3d print some items to stick into the molds and leave impressions in the hexes. Words, cartoons, bees, cartoon versions of your dogs, whatever strikes your fancy.
Really good idea! I like the cartoon dogs idea.
I love seeing all the love in your family!
Absolutely love the rock and hexagon look. It is stunning. Very creative and will be a piece of artwork when done.
we agree ...it is ART...functional art 😀
Love the Hexi’s and bee motif!!!!!
That was a cute clip of Luna standing guard in front of the building!!!! Like she's protecting you from all of the mean invaders like the lizards and the like! Hahaha 🤣😂🤣😂
Every dog BUT Bullet.
Maybe you should change Bullet's name to Waldo, because every episode I'm wondering where he is.
🤣😂🤣 most creative comment 😀
Looks So Beautiful!!
Coming right along!
I cannot wait until we get to make pavers. I LOVE PAVERS WOOT
Looking really good!!!
Looking good. Always creative
Great weekly peak! The walls are looking great. For the arches over the windows. Some of those rocks in you pile look a little big, who is going to be swinging the sledge to break them up or is another truck load in the future? I really love the variations in the hexi-tile depths. It really adds a lot of character to the walls. Is Gary going to add any bee inspired trim on the shed doors to stay consistent with the design? Thanks for sharing.
ooooh what a GREAT idea...like a winney the pooh door 😀
Bryson,
The proper way to practice mustache twirling is just after you tied a damsel in distress to some railroad tracks. When you have perfected that, then you will be an expert mustache twirler.
Everything looks so nice!! 🐝 turned out great!
You need a hexagon patio under the shade with the rocks and the hexagon wall design in the background.😊
When it comes to the mortar on the back of the pavers, I'd suggest trying to get it about the consistency of peanut butter to stick and spread to both the back of the pavers and "key" into the holes of the wall.
It will be awesome whenever you start installing the trusses. Should be soon!
Looking good!!! 👀
I love dad's joke about the salad and mom just tosses her hand out..... "aaand here's the next clip.
🤣😂🤣 we love his humor tooo reminds of u Shaye
Luna, Chip, and Salsa are so cute, but I didn't see Bullet our log carrying dog. Great job everybody. Shelly you are so creative. You all work together so well.
I've done that! Looked at a finished portion of a project through my fingers to see what the whole would be like.
Also, if you want to see what things that are every day familiar to you look like to others just turn your head upside down and look at it that way.
Good good y’all! 👏
Love watching the videos of your builds on Friday
Haven't seen Garin and Ellie in awhile. Hope they are doing well, any updates!
ruclips.net/video/CSU2wMkVkZg/видео.html here is a link to the pod cast where they give the update on Garren n Ellie
The dogs face at the end 😂😂
Hey you homesteading family. WOW such progress, miss one week and I missed a lot. Thanks again for sharing all your adventures. My favorite program really.
Hello from the Stanislaus National forest near Yosemite!
I've been following you since 2013 ish...
This may "bee" your most creative build yet!!
A "Honey 🍯" of a building for sure!
Loving the Asian-type rock behind the fast forward section - you are fair dunkum NINJA ARTISTS! LoveloveLOVING the way it's all coming together!
HUGE fan of the out-takes, too!
Muriatic acid will also clean off the grout/mortar from the stones. Keep it up, looks great!
Hey guys was watching another channel this week "Our Wyoming Life" and they were trying out a new implement for feeding their cattle. It is a "cake" feeder and boy would it make a magnificent bag filler. You should check it out not to buy but to get some ideas for possibly improving yours. There are 2 wheels with fingers on them that move as the auger moves and keep the cake from clogging up. Love watching how you make things do with what you have or flat out invent what you need!
I just love how you have always broken up area's to different textures, somehow you guys make it flow❤
Lol the ending!!!! Love the rock walls. And sure miss Garen Ellie and Shae.
You folks might want to look at the "Steele Cement Mixer" for mixing mortar and cobb.
I'm really enjoying the bee-hive affect. So cute..
Is there a link to a video and/or podcast where you guys discuss where the rest of the family has been? I'm just curious but I don't want to ask if there has already been a video I've missed covering such topic.
they answer this question often on the Monday Pod Cast video...u can go watch em 😀 i answered what i rem to a question above but i can not cut n past 😪 it and i have COVID n i am tooop tired to retype it but the basic facts r...everyone is OK just BUSY w their own lives.
ruclips.net/video/CSU2wMkVkZg/видео.html here is the link to the pod cast where they talk about Garren n Ellie
@@designdoctor247 Thanks so much
Loved the video 😘👍🏻💕
I really enjoy watching you all creating the workshop. One question as I have been off internet, where are Garin and Elli? Did the start their own channel?
I have been wondering also.. but was not sure if i just missed something or not.
ruclips.net/video/CSU2wMkVkZg/видео.html here is the link to the pod cast where they give an update about Garren n Ellie
To clean mortar use muradic acid watered down in a bucket and apply with a stiff broom. Like a wall paper pasting broom. It’s what pro brick and stone masons use to clean up the residue.
Maybe you could try a concrete dye that way you wouldn’t have to paint a lot just what you’ve already done
If you would wipe each rock with vinegar as you go you would find the after-cleaning easier. You could even use plain water. Then the haze is less and easier to remove. You remove it from a surface when it is wet. Use an old rag or sponge and rinse often. It just needs to be damp.
The rocks below the honeycomb looks like honey dripping 🥰🇦🇺🇦🇺🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺
The red bags make it look like a hotdog house lol
just an idea for your license plate blockers... if you attach it to the car you always have to remember to remove it every time before you drive. So don't attach it to the car. Attach it to the ground. If you have some sort of thing that is on a platform that you can move the sticker right in front of the license plate, then when you drive off you don't have to worry. When you get back, just move the lightweight stand thingy with the MLH sticker on it back in front of the plate.
Love your creativity. Wish my City wasn't so uptight. I want to create a ♿️ parking space near my front entrance, it's such a difficult process.
What is going on with Garren , Ellie and Shay?
They have been clear that that is not the case.
I just posted them same Question. Been awhile. Hopefully all is well.
ruclips.net/video/CSU2wMkVkZg/видео.html. here is the link to the pod cast where they talk about Garren Ellie and Shay
@@designdoctor247 Thank You for linking it. Had someone tell me the same but she said show. So I went back through a lot of shows thinking I missed it and it was a podcast the whole time. I don't usually watch the podcast. You are so sweet for don't that.
Looking really good guy’s 💞🦋🎈
Is the workshop's name going to be "The Hive "?
It's looking awesome.
Wasn't sure on what you were going for with the rocks. But it's definitely turning out to be nice. Better then looking at a cinder block wall.
Maybe try putting vinegar in a spray bottle and spray the rocks like a pre treatment 15mins before using the sprayer. Idk. I love vinegar. I use it for everything.
plastic wire drum holder empty one good for rope pulley you could stick it on scaffold poll to bring product to use easier use lawnmower to Paul, up pull the rope
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Shelly,
I seem to recall advising you to take a level, place it vertically on the wall, then take a sharpie and draw a vertical line on the wall to help you align your hex pavers so they will be straight on the wall. But alas you didn't do that and now you have paver droop.
💖💖💖
Wow that went really fast this week.
I'm sure you've given more info on where the missing family is on the podcast broadcast... unfortunately we can't watch that on the day and just never have time to catch up on those later in the week. Would it be too much trouble to ask you guys to put in a a minute to tell us what's happened to the rest of the family on a Friday episode? I know it's inconvenient and understand if you can't, but I'm curious what happened to Shae and Brian and family? I miss them too. Any how, super excited about how this is developing, we have played with aircrete too, it's pretty amazing stuff, the shop is going to be fantabulous!! Smiles and blessings...
Hello from Canby, OR
The sad thing about the plate covers is that you need them due to some people when seeing the plate will attempt to use the information to find you and some may have bad intentions.
Your Christmas 22 episode is amazing I watched it last month.
I am worried about the weight of the boulders over the glass windows.
NOOOO DON'T MISS THE MUSTACHE RUTINE! If you start letting that go, it'll be completely out of hand before you know it!
How would making a salad to put on the wall help clean or make the bricks pop?
One summer I mixed mud for stone mason company and they could burn through the mud filling in the gaps and of course mud can’t be to wet or to dry just right. All I heard all day long was WE NEED MORE MUD, TO WET TO DRY Blah blah blah.
Bryson check out Klondike Mike from the Klondike Days in Edmonton Alberta Canada. There is a stunning resemblance to you.
PLEASE make and cure a bee, then push it into a hexy :)
oh ....they did they did it was on the live stream...it was sooo cool!
@@designdoctor247 they put a dried bee tile into a wet hex and cured it as one piece??
Sorry I haven't been able to watch you since the inside bathroom redo.
Trying to catch-up on everything.
This new building is huge, what's it for?
My style is Cord wood
Will you be able to put the hexagons straight onto the bags or will you need to do some base coat of stucco first?
How often are you going to do what you did last week. That was neat to see. With the microphone
Okay, guys- what was the crazy noise at the end?
Did something fall?
Looking forward to that bit of the story!
Have you tried clear urethane on a rock and see if the color pops?
all I have to say is I miss the other kids too would be nice to see them... but I understand life... still miss them
At timestamp 0:19 you added a white powder to water for the aircrete. What was that powder?
😁
You gonna cut half hexagons for the top course? Or are they too brittle to cut
..
Did they finish the southwest house?
You know a lot of stonemasons use a wire brush to knock off that extra. Maybe instead of using a wire brush you could use a wire brush on the grinder? Make sure you use eye protection LOL
22nd to go
morning
License plates are aluminum, thus non magnetic.
You guys it is not getting to top heavy you are not worried about them big rock being over your head just asking ok love watching you guys i just love you all
It would be great if you could just do a special aircrete video. like an instructional video.
once you start a project who is the driving force to finish it ?Is it someone different each project ?or does mom just say ok guys lets get this done.
I don't mean to be critical...but why would you invest in license plate covers that you can't display while driving?? Will you put them on the trunk lid or the side of the vehicle?
I enjoy watching you work but I totally don't get the picture.
