The bass player on this is absolutely amazing. Her composition covers the bass, the drum fills, and the lead guitar, and she looks like she does it effortlessly. Astounding skills!
This is the best cover of this song I have ever heard. Vocals capture all the essence. Best cover of a strokes song I have even heard….no notes on this one wow
gran química que tienen ambas, la bajista muy segura de lo que toca y la guitarrista y cantante tocando lo que debe ser sin tanto adorno, la mezcla perfecta
I have always really enjoyed the part of this song that begins around 1:14 (and then again around 2:41). It's cool to see how a two-person group can pull it off with just one bass, one guitar, and one voice.
I honestly don't like his vocals, why is he using distortion. Don't get me wrong The Strokes was and will still be my favourite band, I loved their instrumental, it's very simple and good. But the vocals man
@@ForeverMasterless Exactly, I love the contrast or perky bright instrumentals next to dirty garage vocals. You can say the same thing for built to spill or Dinosaur Jr where the intrumentals are colorful while the vocals are really grudgy.
When have they used distortion? Especially on their latest album the vocals sound clear and crisp. I suppose on their older albums when it's more garage rock and the production is meant to sound messy. He's probably one of the best vocalists of the 2000's tho. I don't get this argument.
Pacifica! You have great chemistry together, the voice and the bass are so on point, I'm already a fan! Looking forward to hear whatever you'll make next.
@mikeymike4sophie yeah man I'm the same and I liked this too. Nothing about this felt contrived or for internet fame or anything. Felt like two girls playing a song the genuinely love and ziiiiing thats money. But hey like the Argentine man said, I hope more things jump out at you that you enjoy
i enjoy the covers you two do together so so much :) and this is one of my favorite songs aswell! i feel like you somehow imitate julians voice when you cover the strokes, but like in your very own way. So cool!!
I've been listening to The Strokes since the beginning, possibly before you two were even born. They are my favorite overall band and this is one of my favorite songs. Now here are two damn kids YouTubing a friggin' cover of it and... ...you did great. ☺️ Nice work you two.
This arrangement and mic'ing works much better. Having the mic that close captures much more nuance in your voice. The amps seem well balanced, so it's all more harmonious 🙂
You two rock! Greetings from St. Louis. If you keep putting your personality and heart into your performances, you will go far. Write YOUR music when your inspired to do so. Don't let anyone fit you into a mold. Keep rock alive!
I hope you've all heard Interpol from around the same time. Really I'm digging the Strokes new about. I'm from NYC and go back a long time. Both are great. I love the voice leading and harmonics of the Interpol setup with a Les Paul and a Casino, thinscale hollow and in a very melodic role, picked and percussive - also J-bass. Turn On The Bright Lights and Antics are the first two of six and most popular. I'm deeply into composition to production to building instruments. Never had this kinda time, the city that never wakes. And, to state the certain very strong performance especially without meter being delineated via the usual obvious pulses as some players simply cannot cope with out.
You girls are awesome. Being from NY and having a similar style to these guys I think it’s really cool you like them so much... The Strokes are great! I used to listen to “Is This It” on repeat
I love the singer's voice. She doesnt try to style it out all weird, like so many do, these days.
This comment 👌🏻
Romanticism is about taking responsibility for your actions fully, while fully rejecting irony and postmodernism.
I know exactly what you mean. This is a really good point.
“Welcoooome to myyeeee keeeetchen. We’ve gawt bananies..and avocahhhdoos”

Wonderful rhythm and chemistry between friends. A reminder of how fun music can be. Great job.

The bass playing the lead guitar licks is super clever, this is great you have a great voice
This simple bass and electric guitar cover of this song sounds so good and straight from a time long past
You have the most perfect voice for covering the strokes
Every time the base player does that head tilt an angel gets its wings…
This is the best cover of this song I have ever heard. Vocals capture all the essence. Best cover of a strokes song I have even heard….no notes on this one wow
this a vibe
best cover of pacifica - barely legal by the strokes
I just binged all your The Strokes videos. Thanks for reminding me how much I like them. Haven't thought about them in probably 15 years.
gran química que tienen ambas, la bajista muy segura de lo que toca y la guitarrista y cantante tocando lo que debe ser sin tanto adorno, la mezcla perfecta
The bassist has almost perfected Ron Mael's facial nonchalance whilst performing. Lovely!
Bassist nonchalent bored face in general see. Alex James of Blur
same hair too :P
She has stolen my heart.
Facial Nonchalance, new band name, called it
@@Alpha_7227 Indeed, Alex has a "resting bassist face".

your strokes covers are just the BEST honestly,

I love these two so much. They do solid solid covers in good spirit of the song.
The bass player did a great job of carrying the rhythm, keeping the timing solid. That was a fun cover, too :)
Yup, solid bass there!
@@Wayne_Robinson Considering the size of the bass in proportion...
I never usually like covers of the strokes because it sounds weird without Julian's voice, but your voice sounds great over this.

Incredible voices and cadence on this track. Beautiful
I like the way you sang it seemingly offhandedly. Great voice!
Ah this takes me back. This album came out when I was a freshman in highschool. Cant believe that was 20 years ago!!!!!!!!!!
They appeared just as I got clean… so my fav band for a while until Kings Of Leon appeared in the U.K.
daily reminder that their cover of "evening sun" remains the best version of that song ♡ even julian would say so
Glad this popped up on my suggested vids. Awesome cover!
Incredible cover as usual, I feel like you understand perfectly the essence of the Strokes
