@@stevenaamos hey Steve…it was the breeze yesterday evening that blew debris around and that weed got blow up into a spiderweb and that’s all it took for them to use it as a ladder to get up on the pallet.
Hey T&H!…yes, those pests have almost got me pulling my hair out, but the bees will make it. Also, there are 2 “M’s”. And the 2nd M have been thick this year attacking drawn comb I’m trying to store.
@@josephrawls Hey Joey…they flat out suck! If I stand in one place for a few minutes, I can look down and see an ant trail on the toes of my boots! They don’t go around, they will go over. It’s that bad
@@aCanadianBeekeepersBlog Hey Ian…I can and do with oil traps. I put used motor oil in them and the ants won’t get near it. The traps are on bricks at each corner of the pallet. The pallets rest on the traps. The problem this morning was that some debris blew around and got caught on a spiderweb and it connected the ground to the pallet and that’s all they need.
@@lomavistabeeco ah I see When I ran mating nucs on pole stands, I treated the pole with ant piston. One yard has a tree hang it’s leaves down and touched the mating nuc, the ants walked up the tree, down the branch , onto the mating nuc and cleaned them out!!
Todd forgive me if I've asked you this before but if you tried mixing Borax with powdered sugar? I thought maybe if it's literally sprinkle that around the yard it might knock the population down in general? Thanks for the update.
@@MinnesotaBeekeeper hey Mike!…that stuff will blow away with the breezes. I tried DME and it blew away. The problem this time was that the piece of debris the ants used as a ladder was blown up against the pallet. Nothing I can do about that. Oh well…gotta keep marching on. Have a great day!
As small as they are they sure can be a pain in the backside. Thanks for the video Todd.
@@russellkoopman3004 hey Russell…this year has been bad for ants and moths! I’m ready for winter to start tomorrow!
Sorry it's continuing! Cool seeing different pollens

Nice looking colonies Todd! Thanks for sharing🐝

Happy Thanksgiving Ian! I sent the same to Brad this morning
IT's always something! Good luck with the situation!
Hey Brad!…yes, always something. It would be boring if I didn’t have to deal with ants and the other pests.
The blasted A's, B's, and M's of Beekeeping! Hate you're having such a time with them heffers.

I wouldn’t know where to start with controlling ants. 😮

Could you treat under the pallet?
