New trader here. I appreciate this video. Just three months in and this has been my downfall, the mental stop loss. So now, I'm using a stop loss from here on out. The hard thing I think is for new people is when you set stop loss your saying im willing to lose this and that can be hard to accept. But I rather lose a small amount than be wiped out.
I am only part of the way through this video and I 100% agree with you on the need for a stop loss. I have first hand information about the "mental stop loss" not working and have blown a live funded trading account in about 1 minute. When you think it "has to reverse" it certainly doesn't have to. Adding to a losing position is another fatal mistake I have made many times. It is eye opening to realize while fighting to make a trade work, you could have simply taken the stop and hop on in the right direction. ***after confirmation. It happened to me… the mental stop loss… just blew up my account. Its time to honor those stop losses because I could have ended up getting out for a 2% loss and that next morning I could have re entered where I would have made upwards 80%

I have been trading forex for a year and a half now, i watched tons of videos about forex beginner mistakes but i made them anyway and i still make some but you can reduce mistakes after finding a strategy and building discipline to follow your trading plan, i have just turned consistent for about 5 months now and I’m still learning to increase my knowledge of the market, having loses doesn’t mean your strategy doesn’t work you can have a low win rate and have a better risk to reward ratio
