It's crazy. I taught myself the exact same thing. I was winning and losing consistently until ,through my screenshots and screen recorder,, I saw the difference between what I call trending and ranging markets. I realized I had to apply a different trade strategy to the respective markets. Made all the difference.
Im still only about a year into where I’m trading on a daily basis but once I discovered how to identify support and resistance and supply and demand zones I started to have more consistent success. I would recommend learning support and resistance to all new traders looking to develop a strategy. Ben has some good videos on this. Thanks for the videos.

Excellent teaching, Ben. I got your program because you explain things so well. I was losing money because of focusing too much on the trend until I realized that the trend changes several times a day. I was getting into trades right before the trend changed and losing money so I knew I needed to change how I was trading. There's a lot of learn to become a consistently good trader but I'm getting there by learning from you and others like you, studying the price action, and recognizing and changing my bad habits. You must trade on low timeframe because the trend doesn’t change several times a day otherwise.

Great video! I agree 2020 and 2021 was a lot easier. 2022 I focused more on identifying reversals and it helped me a lot.
I've been trading stocks/commodities a while now before trading crypto coins. Even though bitcoin is volatile, its price movement is influenced by the same conditions as tradFi(Supply and Demand), With this you can time mrkt pivot signals with the right tools, "rinse and repeat". Recent capitulations are perfect for a relieve rally. Considering all this, you need to have a go to strategy when trading, because when you buybitcoin, you're buying days you won't have to work. Prior to meeting Callum Lucas, I've suffered a series of trading losses. His AlgoSignal strategies have been extremely profitable for my crypto trading as I've watched my portfolio grow by six figures under his guide.
There was this podcast I was listening to and it said something venturing within your tolerance and risk capacity, see you mention it again got to me. It's the best way to start till you're grounded to take thing on your own.
I'm new to crypto and I must say the entire Bear trend took me by surprise leading to a -70% loss of portfolio value. Was hoping I might get a breakeven earlier but took some losses more. .Will see how this works out. How do I get through to Lucas?

My thoughts exactly. Looking at the log chart of BTC, price has drastically deviated from its all time high, this recent capitulation pressure has led some to believe that more declines could be ahead. Great buy opportunity, but best to take some into day trading than to hold spot.
One thing I know for certain is crypto is here to stay,, the only thing that leaves is the people who don't manage their risk. Manage that, or the market will manage it for you. With the right strategies you will survive
Great video! I was that trader that would get into a trend trade only for it to reverse and I didn’t understand why. I really started to understand market structure once I begin playing bounces/rejects and focusing on candle patterns along with volume, so now I’m able to trade both 🙌🏽.
This is really a very valuable lesson and nicely explained. Also noticeable on the breaking trends are the typical "M" and "W" patterns that usually denote the reversal in the making. Great lesson.

I'm new trader and I would say that this is the most informative and real video I saw, all other videos are just a lie of random strategies that not tested in live market and lying to those new traders. No one teachs you the real trading they just put indicators in the chart and they teach you to blindly follow them

Ben, this is such a great video and channel! Same happened to me many times. One thing I struggle with is how far will it break support or resistance. It can be hard to know this. Many times I have placed a stop loss in a good area and yet, it does a massive reversal, only to continue in the direction I wanted it to. BUT, if I was to place a much larger stop loss, I'm afraid of losing even more money if it does truly do a HUGE reversal. It's always easy when you see the chart after the day is over, but during trading, you just don't know.

Try using ATR to help with wide enough stops

Well expressed. Thank you. Very important to recognise the market phase and the context. eg. it's natural for a trending market to pull back and consolidate in it's journey. Also a big picture frame of reference with significant S/R levels is helpful. I like to use multi timeframes to get different points of view and understand context.

I'm doing the same thing. I learned this. I don't put any indicators. Only chart pattern with support and resistance works most of the time. Risk reward and position sizing most important. Discipline matters the most. Thanks for the video. It shows Im going on the right path.

I must say this is the best video I think I’ve ever seen explaining trading thank you very much.
Really needed this, been caught in the same trap and have been getting chopped up. But what I think am realizing (correct me here if I am wrong), these things, trends, support/resistance, candle patterns, indicators etc all have certain weightings. Trend lines would have far less weight than say, support and resistance? Should still be in the back of your mind, but shouldnt have the same weight as supp/res, volume or patterns.

So true Ben from 2019 to mid 2021 was a unreal bull market everybody made money; this market the past 9 months is a complete different picture. What really helped me was knowing the day market type trending, or ranging then I could adjust my stragety to the market type; in fact I think just as many opportunties are in a range bound market than a trending market in my opinion. Only been day trading 2 months now (basically newborn). Discovering you channel has opened my view on trading tremendously! Great video Ben. I scalp the ES and love bear trend days, trading range days, and wide trending day. Most of the time I'm looking for the sells. Its just my nature and comfort zone. Going down the scalps are in and out quick if you are right. Not much wavering creating doubt in my mind. Hate small pullback relentless bull trend days. The entries are not as clear on these type of day.

For some reason my lose to win ratio stays stagnant and I'm following everything I've seen that gave me enough indication that "this is a good trade" before I take it based on what I've learned and study and it doesn't click. Maybe I have to pay for the class to get the real juice to be profitable

I noticed that the trades I took when I was following ‘the trend’ were the ones that flopped (probably because it was already over anyways and that’s why I could see it).
So I started to ignore the usual ‘trade with the trend’ and started shorting/going long when I see my set up regardless of the dominant ‘trend’ on the higher timeframes. I feel validated after watching this video👍🏽

I just see my bad style right now in the beginning, nearly whole week just gone well and yesterday lost all gains 600 USD and 100 more because of got crazy and jump in market when reversing and stayed there till SL. Your video is brilliant and I should definitely concentrate to get rid of "trend is your friend" and I already realized that wrong. As you always say, it is all about good strategy, good habits, discipline, money management and gaining strong self confidence.
