David Dunn meets a very young Kevin aka The Beast/Horde! [ Unbreakable - Split - Glass ]

- In the original Unbreakable, David Dunn (played by Bruce Willis) meets a very young Kevin as he's still trying to figure out how his powers work.
Dunn has a vision that Kevin is being severely abused by his mother, yet chooses not to do anything about it. This abuse will later be the root of Kevin's powers.
Also, keep in mind that at the end of Unbreakable it is revealed that Mr. Glass (played by Samuel L. Jackson) is responsible for the train wreck that activated David's powers but killed the rest of the passengers. In Split, it is revealed that Kevin's loving father was killed by this very train, and his death is what drove his mother crazy, and thus triggered her abusive behavior.
In Split, Kevin visits the Train Station, and leaves a bouquet of flowers for his father before morphing into the super villain known as The Beast for the first time.
Unbreakable 3 aka "Glass" is scheduled to be released in January 2019!
That little boy will one day become a Super villain for David to encounter 😁
Jashar Hardy No, that's not true. Kevin was originally supposed to be a villain in Unbreakable, but M. Night Shyamalan cut him out of the film because of "balancing" issues. Kevin wasn't supposed to be a kid in the movie.
But...perhaps after M. Knight cut the character he left this little easter egg here just incase he ever wanted to revisit the concept...which he did 16 years later. The Glass trailer drops this Friday...we should know more by then.
gypsyauh2o I just saw Glass trailer 😀
@Jonah Hil Yeah, now he is. But originally Kevin was supposed to be the supervillain in Unbreakable.
Mark Guerrero it had a very unexpected ending. But atleast Mr Glass beat the black clover society which came out of nowhere to be honest.
Shyamalan: I guess you guys aren’t ready for that yet, but your kids are gonna love it.
😂😂😂
MCFRY!!!!
The deepest circle of hell burns hottest for those who do unspeakable things to children. Poor Kevin...
Tom Hibbert Damn bro. That was deep.
@@one-hitkid7270 I have to agree, so poetic.

@@Brandon.S.Brooker It's not that I don't like it... Simply doubtful... Like fictional...
You have to admire Shyamalan's commitment and patience.
The man simply waited more than 15 years for the next installment of this story, making one horrible movie after the other, then Split comes out, takes from where the story left off and Glass finishes it. He left this clue behind, this little detail that whose true significance we only realize after Split, like saying: "It was there. It was always there. You just had to pay attention." Dammit. I really wish be a writer almost as brilliant as he is one day.
Even though I'm sure he kept his options opened and may have contemplated this I highly doubt he was certain that he was gonna be writing more stories about these character later on
It's actually not Kevin. I read on a series of blog posts examining Split that he should've been a teenager during Unbreakable. Not a little kid.
Shyamalan is awesome, and a genius in my opinion.
If only glass wasnt the worst movie ever
@@lonewolfshayu1715 makes sense, people think this was planned for all these years. It was shoe-horned in with split in a clever fashion is all.
That had to be kevin. This scene is literally just about the mother and kid, he doesnt bump into anyone else, and then he stares at the mom? The mom and kid had too much screentime that it had to be important.
Yup and one of the personalitys edwick was abused by his mom and his dad died on the same train david dunn did
They showed them for like two seconds dude i dont know where this proves its him....
@@miriamrodriguez5334 M Night literally confirmed that Kevin was originally planned to be IN Unbreakable. So he definitely had the character planned out, if not the movie itself, by that point in time. It's not unthinkable that he could've thrown Kevin into the movie anyway and just made him less of a plot point.
@@LordofFullmetal Kevin was supposed to be the main villain of unbreakable, so it's unlikely they would've had him as a kid in this...
@@jj56067 Dude, you called the part about his dad dying on the same train that David Dunn was on. Good job.
My dad was falling asleep during this movie but I’m glad this one scene woke him up and re-engaged him.
I’ll agree that Shyamalan has had more misses that hits but his commitment to execute his ideas, however unconventional they may be, is something I truly admire. Especially in a time when most "blockbuster" movies follow the same formulaic pattern for the sake of box office success.
the great thing is that Mr Glass described both types of supervillains. Since Mr Glass was the smart one, Dunn needed that strong muscular one, which is The Beast
David is the beast, minus the uncontrollable rage.
It'll be a hell of a showdown
Johnny Is Ded101
David will win since he's probably stronger. I mean the beast was struggling to bend Iron bars when David can do it with ease.
The Batman remember M. Night likes to twist things tho
The Batman the beast wasnt have full control on the body during the movie because barry has dominant control. But now the beast has "full control" he could have improve his power.
Vicel Vin
Yeah but surviving a train wreck with no injuries is a greater feat. Not only that. Mr Glass's mother said that the main villain isn't the muscular one but the intelligent one. Which is Mr Glass.
Way before the marvel universe, night was plotting the best super hero trilogy

When David touches the mother you can here the boy scream "No Mommy, Please No"
You may have something here
gypsyauh2o all I heard was a poor young boy screaming in unspeakable agony and conditions that no child should ever have to endure. Poor Kevin...
And I also could've sworn that the mom was yelling "Get over here!!" also.. it could just be me but I could've sworn I heard that along with the boy screaming "No!"
not just the boy, it's all the BOYS inside him.
succ my duck It was planned from the beginning so it could possibly be.
Also the fact that Elijah's voice starts talking about the train crash as the scene fades!! Whoa!!
foreshadowing.
In the glass film, Hedwig bumped into David while walking down the street, just like Kevin here, and there was also an underlying voice at this time. Amazing.
M. Night is a genius. I don't care if the mom is not the same actress. You can tell thats Kevin by all the voices shouting at the same time.
I don't think those were the voices of his personalities tho..not to take away from it cuz it might be..but I figured he was seeing different times she was abusing him thus the echoing of his voice...idk we both might be right lls
It cant be. Because Glass happened 15 years after Unbreakable. And Kevin looks like he's in his 30s
Well it is cofrimed that it was Kevin
@@KBrianO in glass if you pause the movie when elijah is searching kevin files you can see he´s 27 years old.
When i saw this scene while rewatching it after i saw Split, i got the goosbumbs so hard.
In the script of Unbreakable this scene is much longer, David have a vision of that boy crying and in front of him his mother asking him to choose between several objects on a table, a belt, a hanger and an extension cord.
Damn bruh!
It's a good one to exclude, if David saw that his character would've pursued the mother.
Kevin is the reflection of the traumas he’s been through. He’s like Arthur flecks joker in a way. Poor kid.
What is special to me about this scene is how it highlights that most evil things at some point could have been set on a better path, whether it's too late for them now or not. In a world where the Overseer understood his powers better and had different priorities, he might have pursued Kevin's mother more aggressively and Kevin might never have begun developing alts, let alone become host to the Beast. In a way, Kevin was victimized by Mr. Glass but let down by the Overseer.
Perfectly analysed! 👏
@@brettzforeman yup
Wow.... As a fan of both Split and Unbreakable.... This is so existing!
Shyamalan planned this way back in 2000?
What a twist!
I doubt it. It was probably a throwaway moment that was able to use later on.
Oddly enough he planned to have Kevin in Unbreakable but didn’t want it to unbalance the movie so he took him out.
Hideo Kojima from movies
He did. Just never knew if the second films would ever come to frutition
I bet David Dunn's son has an ability.
In unbreakable (2000), David's son got hurt and was crying about not having an ability. That's when David tried to calm his son down and said: "I'm just an ordinary man." His son does not seem to have an ability, as he's gotten sick, hurt, and doesn't seem super smart...but, he's a loving son and worships his dad.
I can imagine David's son getting super-speed which would contrast his father's super-strength.
Yea to operate a computer
One thing that is legitimately interesting but can't be more than coincidence is if you look at the very LAST second of the video, there's an overhead shot of Audrey and Mr Glass. Look at the colours on the floor and furniture Green, Purple and... Yellow!
Kevin and David Dunn and Mr Glass surely will meet I think, that or the easter egg also occurred in the ending of split which also had to do with healing to find purity and personality disorders.
Olivia Unknown yupp.. They'll meet, in the Glass 2019 movie
If you pay attention you can hear multiple voices instead of one
Damn. I can't believe I missed this.
Bro I can't wait for the next movie!
Wow... I didnt see the connection until I rewatched Unbreakable and Split. M Night must have planned their story arcs for years!
He did!
dude Kevin mother has power too everyone else Bounces off David but Kevin mother moves David it makes so much more sense why Kevin has powers now Mr Glass didn’t create it he was born with power and his mom has them too
THIS IS SO AWESOME
Hell yeah boys! Glass confirmed this scene. It was Kevin in this scene.
It did confirm the same train, but how did it confirm this?
@@Brandon.S.Brooker m night cofrimed this was Kevin in a interview

Amazing love this sort of thing. The foresight!!!
I heard "stop it" and "no" when he had vision
how can people say that it's not kevin? you can literally hear his multiple personalities, and going by the timeline, he would be 27-29 in Glass, which would make sense.
I hear the boy saying: No momma please dont
Holy crap, that really could be him. I wonder if they’ll tie that into Glass.
That's so crazy, and sad David has to fight Kevin some day, that broken man, poor Kevin he didn't had a chance because of Kevin's mother, his personality, and Elijah for creating him, Kevin's father was on that same train that David survive on
wow, great! thanks for this!
RIP David Dunn :(
MY HORDE IS LOSING FAITH! Craziest words ever said ever
Who knows if it was cause as we all came to know how abusive Kevin's mom was I highly doubt she'd take him to see a sport.
It seems likely. If this is Kevin at a young age it's very cool. It is plausible since the character was written for the series at the time and then removed in postproduction so as to not take away from the main story. WTH M.Knight probably figured if Unbreakable was as big a hit as Six Sense, he wouldn't be waiting all that long before he got to bring David and Kevin together.
M knight had stated he didn't want to include Kevin in Unbreakable because he felt Kevin deserved a film of his own to tell his story.
Glass 2019!!!
How did you know?
Fucking prophet!!!
David is gonna fight that kid in a movie coming out this year, I love movies
And Mr Glass created both the hero and the villain of the next film. lol
This scene comes exactly in the middle of the movie hence Unbreakable meets Split!
I doubt this, I'm gonna have to wait and watch Glass to find out if it is really Kevin, or watch out if Shyamalan will confirm this in the future. Since people are coming up with theories, Shyamalan could just say, "Well, yeah, that was him." Like how Kevin Feige 'confirmed' that the Kid from Iron Man 2 was Peter Parker.
Whether or not true, it's still a good theory and a good find!
Goosebumps.... Multiple children and especially abuse
Bro if y’all listen in on the echos you hear Kevin say help shit is sad
Wow I remember this scene and to see it come full circle like this is compelling... can’t wait to see GLASS!
Kevin Crumb was originally supposed to be in Unbreakable, doubt he was supposed to be a little kid. Good theory tho.
Because he decided to remove the plotline, Shayamalan probably decided to plant it sort of as an Easter egg, or a thread he could revisit later, if he got the chance.
No dude its not an easter egg thats not kevin.
He ended up setting Split almost two decades later though. So according to the current canon plot, Kevin WOULD have been a child here.
@@miriamrodriguez5334 But you don't know that. He had half of Split already WRITTEN while he was making this movie. As in, there are scenes in split that he wrote fifteen years ago. But he didn't make Split until a couple years ago, and it's set in 2017. So this easily could've been Kevin. According to the current canon, he's the right age. He has a backstory trait we KNOW Kevin has, and that we KNOW M Night had already planned out because he had half of Split written. It's not THAT unbelievable. Writers do that shit all the time. Stephen King goes out of his way to do that shit in almost every book he writes. And it's exactly the kind of pretentious thing M Night would do.
Miriam Rodriguez This Is an Easter egg and that is Kevin the creators literally confirmed this
Ya def Kevin alright, why would David Dunn turn around and stare at the kid.. Plus you can hear all the different voices screaming in Kevins head as he touched David.
Because he heard a bunch of kids screaming....i dont know how this made you think thats really kevin lmao
@@miriamrodriguez5334 Well, hindsight is 20/20. This has been confirmed by Shyamalan.
I don’t think this was actually planned it probably was like what Marvel did with Spider-Man they just took a scene from Iron Man 2 and gave more meaning to it that’s what M Night did here, he may have not planned it this far ahead but its nice he’s adding more depth to his previous movies with future works
I don't even think he confirmed it directly
Nice theory. That would be dope.
I'm literally Kevin Wendell Crumb
They've never suggested that this is Kevin. He's not the only kid to suffer abuse.
The only thing that was confirmed was that Kevin's dad was on the train with David.
Then why so much screen-time for the mother and the boy...?
@@ayazmalik5260
It's no more than any of the others he touches. And the little girl on the train got more screen time and she meant nothing to the plot.
nice catch.
Holy crap, this is insane
This lil boy is Kevin of Split, este niño que el choca con su madre es Kevin de Fragmentado (Splitt)
I saw the glass trailer i never knew split and unbreakable are in the same universe.
When Kevin's mom bumps into David, you can hear all of Kevin's personalities, including The Beast, in his head. Shyamalan intentionally made this a whole trilogy from the very start and waited at the perfect times to make Split and Glass.
Whoa! Genius!
I didn't even know a movie with David existed
It's good. Watch it if you haven't seen it. It's about David & Elijah (with Audrey/David's wife and Joseph/David's son)
Respect
Dude...good find
It's actually not Kevin. I read on a series of blog posts examining Split that he should've been a teenager during Unbreakable. Not a little kid
@@lonewolfshayu1715 you can’t take the actors age as the character’s age. I mean they had 29 year old Gardner playing 15 year old Peter Parker for Christ sakes
That little boy is not Kevin. James McAvoy was born in 1979. McAvoy was around 20 when the Unbreakable movie was being made. So Kevin must have been a teenager during the Unbreakable events.
If that little boy there really was Kevin, M Night Shyamalan would've taken this exact scene/clip here & put it into the Glass movie to show/hint to us that Kevin & his mom were really exactly right next to David there. But no, he didn't.
If it's Kevin, the director confirmed it. What happens in Glass's movie A part of the movie shows Mr. Glass reviewing Kevin's documents and his age appears. He was born in 1992 and when his father died in the train accident that occurred in Kevin was 8 years old in 2000
Night Shyamalan confirmed that the child is kevin they said that when kevin lost his father he was little he was 8 years old
What if he was hearing his alters ?
Arcturus Blake fuck off
You know considering how his powers work but also how strange Kevin's condition is? Yeah I completely buy it.
I thought the same...
Kaylynn Ally Dope thought. Imagine what he'll be able to see and hear now that David is older
I think he heard all of them. He’s in the early stages of developing his powers so it’s likely that he didn’t completely understand what he was hearing.
Ah good 'ol fan theories, proof that people can truly convince themselves of things that they made up.
Holy shit. I never noticed that. Maybe it’s a coincidence.
It's more like Cooper from Trap, imo.
His symbol of color is red, btw.
Waw James McAvoy was so cute here. What a 17 years project
I don't understand. I thought Elijah was the boy in the movie who retreats to the comic book universe to cope with his disability and get him outside in the neighborhood, around other kids who may or may not have continued to call him Mr.Glass. They even have flashback scenes with Elijah and his mother as a boy in the film, she offers him one new comic book every time he goes out because he doesn't want to. I just don't see a split reference here. I see this scene, looking at it again, as a clue to the ending scene of the unbreakable movie.
Most people seem to be sure that the boy is Kevin, but are no evidence that is actually Kevin. In fact, I'd say the evidence we've seen in Split proves the exact opposite.
Pedro Mendes yeah it’s a reach but still cool
Well of course Kevin was thought of when M. wrote this movie. He was supposed to be the villain. But he was removed in a later draft.
This really could've been some kid being abused, that David just happen to touch. He was just standing there, feeling people ( maybe in the movie, that's when he first got that power, but I didn't watch the movie fully yet), so it could've been another mom, with some other kid. Someone mentioned Kevin being 39 in split, and would at least be alot older in this movie. It doesn't add up, unless they explain further in Glass, or in other ways.
They never said his age in Split. That's just the actors, James MacAvoy's real age.
@@gypsyauh2okevin is 27 years old in glass when mr glass searches kevin's documents his age appears 27 years old I calculate and kevin was born in 1992 and the accident was in 2000 and there he would have been 8 years old when his father died and there everything makes sense
Holy shit glass is coming out soon
Wow... I only noticed that now...
except the canon movie universe only has 15 years of a time difference between Unbreakable and Split/Glass. There's no way that kid was old enough to be Kevin's age in Split.
Shyamalan himself has already said that he originally had Kevin in the original Unbreakable script, but re-wrote it without him for various reasons. It's just not him.
Timeline is 20 years...the boy looks to be 5 to 8, or maybe a bit older...which would make kevin 25 to 30
27 year old in movie glass
Ain’t that some foreshadowing
That was right. Glass made it clear
Holy shit that was Kevin??
I don't know if he is Kevin, because in a flashback of kevin in Split his mother is skinny and that lady wasn't, or maybe they change the actress, or is just a mother who beats his son for any other reason xd
Wonder how many personalities kid had then
this bothers me so much. He didnt do anything. My child 💔
If you actually watch Glass, they show the train scene again with Kevin. That’s not Kevin.
If it is the Shyamalan, I had confirmed it and if they obviously do not look like the child that is there and that they show Kevin saying goodbye to his father, I will say this with respect, obviously that is not going to make the same child, the film was released in 2000 and that child He is from that year and over the years he has obviously grown up so they had to look for another 8 year old boy that Kevin was that age because in glass he is 27 years old and everything fits
So was that seriously Kevin? Did the director really planned this from 2000?
I think so. If you listen closely you can hear various voices when he touches Kevin's mom. It all makes sense, in the comics, the good, the bad, the mastermind is part of the exact same universe. They've all suffered and surpressed their traumas...:(
doubt it the multiple voices are echoes your hearing to give it a more chilling vibe
Kevin the horde was written by M.night back in 1999, and unbreakable was released in 2000's.
Why it was only snippet of him in this movie?
