Katakis is a horizontally scrolling shooter developed for the Commodore 64 by Rainbow Arts in 1987, and converted to the Amiga by Factor 5 in 1988. It was re-released as Denaris in 1989. The name Katakis has a Greek origin and was found in a phone book in Gutersloh, Germany. The name Denaris was created by a random name generator, and by coincidence, matches a Greek name as well.

Seems like a modified release (the Denaris version is like this too) where the graphics are tweaked and the levels are rearranged (e.g. Level 6 was Level 1 in the original) to make the R-Type resemblance less blatant.
Одна из моих самых любимых игр после R-Type 👍👍👍
Who knew that the same Factor 5 that made this peculiar SHMUP on the Amiga, this Euro bargain brand take of R-Type, would go on to make the excellent official R-Type port for the same system a year later?
This is literally just a Reskin of an earlier version of the Amiga Version of R-TYPE, which got a full release one year later.
Not as good as the C64 version, but at least still runs at 50fps!
Random Question this game is on two discs, how often are the disk swaps and does this happen in between levels or only at the start of the game, just intrested?
You missed out Katakis.
Nice looking shooter though. Making me miss the Amiga synth for those sound effects.
Cheer up. :)
amiga plenty of terrible games
I bet you've never had one to talk like that!😂
@@Dany6483 He's not really wrong there. But as many terrible games as the system had, it had a whole lot of great games as well.
Completely agree, played Katakis on C64 where it was awesome - this version is just complete s***t.
Ma ha anche molti giochi fatti bene,AMIGA e' un computer potente!,ma se i giochi sono programmati male, non serve lamentarsi
Great video, terrible RTYPE clone =)
Hey i dont have amiga anymore only a ps2 but i really loved 2 games Captain Planet and Magic Pockets also Winning Post is there anyone who can convert those games on ps2 disks
The file format for Amiga games is a quite different one compared to PS2. You're asking for Ports here and that's something that's not so easily done by a single person.
@@Justforvisit ah okay thanks
