You are sooooo right with what you talk about on coffee time! I agree with you! Thanks for all your time to do these videos. They are so hugely valuable and appreciated. Your videos are so amazing and so inspirational too! love them! :-)
Another way of storing Honey Supers and drawn comb, especially if you don't live where it stays consistently cold during the winter is with a product called Xentari BTa (Bacillus Thuringiensis aizawai) No need for freezers or moth crystals - just one easy ORGANIC application per year.
In the beekeeping world it's known as B402 Cretan. Bee companies like Dadant sell it for $200 per quart. You can buy it cheaper if you want to mix it yourself. It does NOT kill the eggs. It really has to be ingested by the smaller instar larvae. It's temperature sensitive, meaning it needs to be stored between 41(f) an 68 (f). According to the label you have to wear goggles, gloves, a NIOSH approved particle filtering respirator and correct clothing to cover skin. I just throw mine in the freezer as it kills all stages including eggs.
Great video David, I use the 5 gallon paint strainers when extracting and just hang them up with all the cappings still in them. The bees hang on the bag and clean everything up.
Wondering about the winter physiology for bees in Arizona. we only get a few days of below freezing weather. Winters often hang around the 40's and 50's.
I saw the other side of the table , well done , you were talking about travelling, have you been to Australia , i hear no ,well jump on a plane NOW ,i will pick you up at the airport , show you a kangaroo , many snakes , echidna , millions of sheep , koalas, beaches we have 12000 miles of coastline lots to explore.
God's creation is perfect and beautiful. It's people that don't care about taking care of it that bothers me! It's all in how you are taught as a child.
i look for balance good and bad ,to make educated decisions, discerning, judging to identify, not for condemning, today a nice guy ran his mower into my hive, but hes old,and im sure it was a accident, hopefully the queen is still around, but in my head i though.. what a dummy,....when he told me i used self control, and said ,hey thats beekeeping ,stuff happens,im greatful to jesus our creator, take the good with the bad, positivity is only half of reality,....for myself i have to remember who i am tomorrow is brand new..
Thank you for adding your voice to encouraging gratitude and appreciation of humanity.
I came to your channel for the beekeeping education... but I'm staying for coffee time. 🤎

Does the cotton shirt strainer get plugged up with wax after a while? Would you have to clean it out periodically? Thanks for the great video.

Yes. Very sad. Nailed it David.

Do you put the cappings out near the hives for the bees to clean off the honey before washing them?
Dave thank you

Can’t you use the water with dissolved honey as feed?
This is a great question to be asked on the livestream tonight, 7pm Central Time: Here's the link: ruclips.net/user/livefI_qVqcF0BI
