We were here for this! Best concert memory I've ever had. Took the little one (her first concert) who absolutely raaaged to this song. She was on my shoulders dancing the whole time (right lawn) for DWD.
Thanks for bringing your munchkin! It was so cool seeing three generations. We were there with you with our 28 and 26 year olds who we first brought to IT.
I’m so glad they uploaded this. I couldn’t believe how well they jammed this for as long as they did and kept it interesting the whole time and I just couldn’t stop boogieing.
@@rhythmsteve They don’t pre rehearse jams, but each member is focusing more what the other instruments are playing rather than themselves. Thats how they lock on so quickly to new progressions or sections. In the 80’s they used to just jam none stop for hours on end to practice listening to each other.
@@rhythmsteve I too am a musician, and I've been listening to Phish jams since 1989, and this is a very interesting debate. My opinion is that I don't think these progressions were pre-existing. I just think once Trey plays four bars of a complete progression, the rest can immediately duplicate it and anticipate where it's going, due to the musical telepathy that can only come from decades of improvising together. Some jams are just "telepathic" like that. Furthermore, if you listen to all the 20+ minute jams from the past 5 years or so, there are many common threads. (i.e minor lead guitar melodies as the initial "bliss jam" foundation etc) But to your point as well, there are always chord progressions in the bullpen that have yet to be crafted into full songs (TAB and Phish), and those are probably sourced in jams as well. I probably geek out on this stuff too much, but one thing I know 100%: I THOROUGHLY ENJOYED this jam live last weekend. Peace.
Night 1 of the tour was a little slow at points but was nice show Mike was ripping and it's evident in the first minute of this hes phunking out in bangor... "stealing all my lines"😱😰
A 1000 barefoot children outside dancing on my lawn I've always loved that lyric for some reason. Phish lyrics are really underrated in my book. They're justifiably known for their awesome jams, but the lyrics are extremely creative.
China cymbals are an effect cymbal. They're often used for punctuating accents, but with a different intent and purpose than a typical crash cymbal provides. A good drummer knows how to use them. A great drummer knows when to use them. Jon fucking Fishman is a great drummer. 22:27
When he leans into that first one as the other three hit collectively on the same note, it's a revelation. When the entire band realizes what just happened and John detonates the China cymbal an additional couple times, it's a victory. An amazing Phish moment.

@@gijoey5912 drove 7 hours last minute just to catch this show. This song alone was worth the drive. Almost cried when I woke up this morning and this still hadn’t been posted
This was magic to experience. It kept going on and on without ever getting boring or repetitive. They just kept reaching further and further. The Bangor Disease will become the stuff of legend, like the Tahoe Tweezer or the Prague Ghost. The Amphitheater was killing it too, with the new elevated lawn, the extra entrances, and decent bathrooms. Just a really special night. I have never missed a Bangor show and each one has always been spectacular.
Spot on. I knew around like 6 min mark they were going to explore this one a lot. Trey just came out so strong and crisp early on this one. You had a feeling he was climbing them all aboard this boat
@@thrutheveil74 just a curious question friend. What sort of life interruptions left an almost 30 year gap between shows? Lol, Ijs they blew your mind in 1994. One of the best Phish Jams in recent years. 🤘🔥
i think the word you are looking for is 'favorite'. there is no such thing as 'best'.
You’re wrong 10/16/21 Carini is the best 😜
No they are right I've been seeing Phish for over 30 years. This show was one of the tightest, best shows I've seen👍🏽

About 1/2 way through I was convinced

Truly polished quartet I feel as a fan , untouchable!!
Awesome! At 17:35 it was all breaking apart for a ripcord...but then at 17:45 Trey kicks it back in and the band switches into the NEXT level!!!!!!
Knock knock who's there
Think it's Page going all. Bananas
Poor fish man is looked past

Down with disease
Three weeks in my bed
Trying to stop these demons that keep
Dancing in my head
Down with disease
And I'm up before the dawn
A thousand barefoot children outside
Dancing on my lawn
Dancing on my lawn, and I keep
Waiting for the time when I can finally say
This has all been wonderful but now I'm on my way
But when I think it's time to leave it all behind
I try to find a way to
But there's nothing I can say
To make it stop
(Stop, stop, stop, stop)
(Stop, stop, stop, stop)
(Stop, stop, stop, stop)
(Stop, stop, stop)
Down with disease
And the jungles in my mind
They're climbing up my waterfalls and
Swingin' on my vines
So I try to hear the music
But I'm always losing time
'Cause they're stepping on my rhythm
And they're stealin' all my lines
Stealin' all my lines and I keep
Waiting for the time
When I can finally say
That this has all been wonderful
But now I'm on my way
When I think it's time
To leave it all behind
I try to find a way to
But there's nothing I can say
To make it stop
(Stop, stop, stop, stop)
(Stop, stop, stop, stop)
(Stop, stop, stop, stop)
(Stop, stop, stop)
Waiting for the time
When I can finally say
That this has all been wonderful
But now I'm on my way
When I think it's time
To leave it all behind
I try to find a way to
But there's nothing I can say
To make it stop
(Stop, stop, stop, stop)
(Stop, stop, stop, stop)
(Stop, stop, stop, stop)
(Stop, stop, stop, stop)
