Serious question- Does this music fit the term "Math Rock", the way they use multiple time signatures?

I'd say its closer to progressive rock in a more modern sense.
Like Tool, but less weird and more melancholic/melody focused.

The Singer is friends with Opeths singer, and Katatonia leaned more into doom metal at first, then quickly went more progressive but keeping the themes of doom metal. Starting from their album Night is the new Day, they went even more progressive and melancholic. As much as i prefer their earlier period, they have made true masterpieces like Takeover or The parting...
