    Hey mate, too easy! Another reason I fitted them was to allow the window to be slightly open whilst parked out on a hot day, yet still be secure and weather proof and keep the car so much cooler inside!

      Thanks a lot Tom! That is another great reason to fit them :)

    Another trick is to sit the shields in the sun for a bit to get some heat into the tape, then peel off and install. This helps the glue bond better to the paintwork

    A heat gun or hair dryer used on the door and the double sided tape to heat it all up improves adhesion

    Super helpful! I grabbed myself a set of $50 buck ones from eBay and they look the same kind as yours. I’ve seen more complicated ones which clip up into the window sil, probably more expensive and more chance of damaging the window, so I’d rather go with these!
    Thanks for the help, I’m moving into my car soon, and these will massively help with ventilation and avoiding condensation and mould issues (which would be awful as I’m allergic to mould!)

    Thanks for another great video Nick. I am fitting them to the DMax because the sun shines into my eyes on the way home each afternoon.

    No liquid adhesion promotor??? It usually ceoms in the box. 3M strongly recommend it.

    This is so timely…only yesterday I was on the Ocam website looking at weather shields for my Hilux. I will have a look at the link you have given 👍
    Any feedback on the wind noise (if any)
    Cheers

      Perfect timing haha! I'm sure there will be some weather shields on Amazon for the Hilux. There's some pretty good deals on Amazon! There's no wind noise at all. Nice and Quiet :)

    Fyi to all. Toyota Hilux when you have a chassis, they install side mirrors that have a 1inch proud padding for further viewing angles. And because of this standard weather shields don't fit to the vehicle. You would have to mill the front visor to fit.

    Hi Nick, I just received my Xcar weathershields and the front ones don't quite follow the contour of my 2012 Pagero.. Is there a trick to make them fit the contour. I also noticed the rear ones are about 5mm too long. I have sent a message to Xcar in case they have sent me the incorrect model weathershields. Is there a trick to moulding the front ones to the contour please Nick.

    • @LowRangeNick
      @LowRangeNick  4 месяца назад

      If they don't fit the lines properly then they may be incorrect.

    hey Nick, Another great tutorial. Thanks mate.
    I bought a similar product that came with a bonnet protector as well. weather shields went on like a dream, but the bonnet protector double sided tape hasn't really stood up to the test. I was wondering if you'd had similar issues and what you'd recommend to repair it?
    Keep it coming man. You're content is bloody awesome and super helpful.

    • @LowRangeNick
      @LowRangeNick  2 года назад +1

      Thanks alot Todd! I ended up fitting a genuine bonnet protector to the mu-x which screws down tight onto the bonnet. You could try cleaning up the area and re taping it with some fresh 3m tape or sika flexing it on haha but it will never come off 😋

      @@LowRangeNick hahaha...i think the wife would murder me if I put that on the outside of the MUX. Thanks for the reply and advice though about the tape.

    Hi thanks for all the vids love watching them keep up the good work.
    Quick question when changing the engine oil is there anything to rest in the computer (ECU)?
    Thanks

    • @LowRangeNick
      @LowRangeNick  2 года назад +1

      Thanks a lot. Nothing needs to be reset in the ECU after an oil change. Some vehicles do have a service reminder or oil life reset through the instrument cluster though.

    Do these have rounded edges? I bought aftermarket ones and I noticed that the edges were sharp, whereas the factory ones are rounded. Noticed wind noise with mine thinking that could be the reason.

    • @LowRangeNick
      @LowRangeNick  2 года назад +1

      Yeah they do have rounded off edges. You can put tape over the edges and go for a drive to see if the noise stops. It could also be any gaps between the weather shield and the door panel causing noises.

    • @AlexSwan
      @AlexSwan 2 года назад +1

      @@LowRangeNick Thanks will give it a go. Mine were OCAM weather shields. They look like good quality and stick well. But yeah, super sharp edges...

    Hey mate
    I watched another video where they used a heat gun to heat up the adhesive, just wondering has yours stayed on properly, as I'm about to install mine but don't have a heat gun 🙏
    Cheers

    • @LowRangeNick
      @LowRangeNick  2 года назад

      Mine have stayed on fine. If you clean the surface properly like I show you in the video and make sure it is pushed down properly you shouldn't have any issues. Mine have been great!
