Pithy but also a silly take. Take the Superman punch-the back foot isn’t planted, yet by kicking backward mid-air the body can still generate more than enough power for an effective cross. No beginner would ever think to move that way without being instructed. They certainly wouldn’t do it by accident. Same with the proper motion of a gazelle hook. It’s actually very clever and I seriously doubt any boxer naturally reproduced that motion as a beginner.
@@AG-ur1ljYou would be surprised by the amount of people with no training at all, but somehow have the instinct to utilize their bodies in ways that would seem impractical, yet actually effective in some ways. Your example, the superman punch, is probably one of the most common unorthodox punches lol, even with the air kick
I think he will get there he speaks in a very literal way and covers things others don't plus he speaks to martial artists and fighters that switch stances
That cross looks like the "Joe Louis baseball throw". He knocked so many people out with that cross, chopping down over the shoulder right at the opponent's chin.
This video contains a stack of incredible boxing moves that if perfected and done with proper footwork and positioning, make you a winning boxer!! What a gift
this is actually really well made, alot of like "this or that"punch information online is a bunch of messing up of names that somebody else would call a diffrent punch that and they call it this wich another calls this. This however uses a very clear naming scheme and is in general just how i see it too. Big thumbs up from me on this one
I love using the up-jab and screw jab in sparing, they are very effective. I switch from regular guard and philly shell, so it sets up the up-jab really well. Sometimes i throw a kind of up-screw jab to get through a higher guard, while still having the surprise of a up jab
Shoe shine, low fire uppercut, orthodox left straight, anchor punch, rabbit punches, low jab to the body, slap jab (Ali, Fury), overhand, high guard jab and right
Yes me to i was expecting a slightly diffrent kind off..blows on the heands. controversial tehniques that are used..not to be long, this is at least more/less familiar ..put the check hook as an example. I learned it as a must, maybe as a first technique like moving back wards , since no good s direct line etc to go backwards..blah blah.. and since i am a kickboxer for example i used left chhook and than right knee (or a kick) etc..etc combo, nothing unknown here, the usual techniques.. but a good vid clear and orderly showed (more and less usual techniques)😐😏. 👋Greetings to you👍for your comment
This is a GREAT video!! Source of confidence in my analysis: My dad is a senior instructor for US marine corps martial arts program. I learned all the basics of TKD, Krav Maga, Muay Boran (includes but not limited to MT), Capoeira and Wing Tsun from elementary school to when I was 15. I practiced parkour in my spare time and used to fight for fun (I still get the cravings for it) because I'm so used to the adrenaline, sweating and bruising, when he trained I trained including hunger and thirst endurance, I played soccer for 8 years and for the latter few I would play in combat boots, I could run 2 miles in 14 minutes freshman year. I stopped training for a few years while I was recovering from seizures and permanent injuries from being hit by a car in the fast lane on the freeway (it was a susu attempt). But I'm slowly getting back into it and my abs and arms have never looked better!
@@akhotinbxng Thank you so much! I will be keeping up with your videos to see what other tech I am missing! I am excited to keep training with you and your people 👊🙏
I’m more ot less the same age as you but I’m always humble to learn from others and you didn’t disappoint. You’re a very good teacher already and will be a great coach!
Im from kick boxing , and ive start boxing cause my punches was sucking a lot , and ive search a style appropriate to my morphology, and definitely I love Soviet style , thanks for youre instructions !
Hey Andrii, perfect timing on the hooks thank you so much!! im 63kg 184cm and been studying soviet tall boxers, wanted to learn the looping hook but didnt wanted to just try and injure myself without knowing. Keep making such good videos man!
There’s a type of overhand where you bring your arm back than aggressively swing your arm and entire body at your target, it almost looks like you’re throwing a baseball. Josh Emmet used it to KO Bruce Mitchell and gave him a seizure as well. It is brutal.
Tus explicasiones son muy buenas, yo utilizo el pekaboo y el flicker jab y no sentia tan efectivo mis jabs pero este video me ayudo a corregir esos errores muchas gracias 💪
Really solid video! I definitely learned a few good punches. I’ve never heard of the down jab before, I’ve definitely thrown it in 1-2-1-2 combinations. It’s a good one to be aware of. The screw jab should be called vertical fist jab. I already knew all of the hook variations), obviously my favorite pumch) but could you go into more detail about the differences between pivot and check hooks. Which is better and why would you pick one over the other. I also feel like you missed the leaping variations of cross and uppercut. (Leaping) cross being the advancing cross used by deontay wilder and leapfrog punch used by ippo. also, this might just be a style choice , but I have always be told overhand punches are thrown with the fist rotated over. great video overall and great selection of punches! I will 100% be practicing all of my check punches.
Hey! Thank you for the feedback, it’s really appreciated I personally use check hooks more because I am a taller guy for my weight but when I’m shorter than my opponent I use more pivot hooks, because I can create angle and attack with breaking the distance that much Yes leaping cross and uppercut are great punches. The first one I shared as one of the variations in my other video about punching techniques so I didn’t put it here. And leaping uppercut is just something I don’t use much Always happy to discuss stuff deeper in the comments 👊
