    6:16 am at Lake with coffee with the Sharon & Mr. Childers...can not beat it!!That Ryobi has some features that my Honda generator does not have. Plus lighter weight. Never knew about Attitude adjustments..cool!! I believe that is quieter too than the Honda! Love the pull out handle! That thing is a winner!! Cable lock that baby to something! I like your style of travel along with your scooter...though I love our teardrop for its simplicity! Just got back from a 3 1/2 week trip west to visit my son and his wife in Spearfish, SD. And, on the back of my Tundra, for the first time transporting was my Suzuki Burgman 650. In a recent trip to SC for a large gathering of other Rustic Trail Teardrop owners, I took along our 50cc Genuine scooters. Wouldn't even consider leaving home without bringing one of our two-wheel options. I just purchased the same generator from Home Depot with a 12 month 0% interest rate. I have only tested it so far with a 500-watt heater that I plan on using this winter, and when I was hooked to shore power, I used my entire trip and out in my yard with snow outside the door. I do use a Goal Zero YETI 400 to operate a very efficient Dometic CFX28 fridge/freezer. But the Ryobi will be perfect for those times when shore power isn't available for a.c. or heater and of course our microwave as well. I love the Bluetooth capability! How are you protecting it from the elements in camp and while transporting?

    • @NomadicRamblersAdventures
      @NomadicRamblersAdventures  5 лет назад +1

      Sweet !!! I'm glad you can still get the 650 off of your truck by yourself. That's a heavy bike. Ours needs a lot of work so we did not bring it. I think we are going to get e-bikes.
      We love the generator but, it won't run our AC 😔 but it will run the heater. 😊 Happy Trails and if we don't talk before y'all have a very Merry Christmas. 🤗🤗

      @@NomadicRamblersAdventures Where in the past I used to load a fairly heavy motorcycle, when I purchased my tour bike, I purchased a pull behind utility trailer so I could attend my son's wedding in 2017 in Spearfish. But, after that trip, decided there was no way I was going to haul a tour bike except when it broke down. So, I found a pristine 2013 with 1926 miles on it and though I had hauled it on my utility trailer, knew that it would load easier than the 1700cc RoadStar. I just wanted to use the shorted ramp instead of the heavy folding 10' ramp. And though I've had a friend spot me, the best tip I can tell you, lower the back end of your truck. Two ways to do it. Drive down a hillside, or purchase ramps for oil changes, but either way, you'll drop the rear end enough that a 7' ramp will work with ease..Not sure if this other tip will work, but I watched a Ryobi Review from another camper who has a travel trailer with a 13500 BTU A.C., and he said that he runs the fan first off his Ryobi...and once it regulates, he then turns on the compressor on the a.c. Personally, I always felt you needed at least 3500 watts of power, which you could easily do with two of the Ryobi 2300 in series. Anyway, Happy Camping and Merry Christmas to you as well!

      @Game Bred Duramax I have had similar results. The larger engine means less wear and tear on the engine and more devices can be run simultaneously.
      I have changed my oil seven times in forty eight hours use about 7.5 hours per oil change. I figure oil is cheap and if it is run more than fifteen minutes, the plug is cleaned, gapped with anti-seize compound applied, the spark arrester cleaned, it is completely dry of fuel, air filters cleaned an oiled, the cylinder lubed and brought to top dead center and then stored inside. I wipe the unit down with a U.V. protectant. After the first hundred hours I am switching to full synthetic and I have always used marine grade gasoline.
      I want this generator to last and run when I need it and I can do the above maintenance in about a half of an hour. I consider it cheap insurance. I live in Florida and the last hurricane I went to Walmart and every can and type of carb cleaner was sold out. With people wanting more, just take good care of your generator. Thanks and good luck.

    • @TheMickeymental
      @TheMickeymental 4 года назад

      @Game Bred Duramax This video is fairly good on the Honda's dependability
      ruclips.net/video/FfJyTaz1Byo/видео.html
      I have heard 30,000 hours but I find that hard to believe. Just make sure you follow the maintenance schedule especially the valve adjustments. There are videos on here on ways to fix just about every problem with this unit. Parts are cheap and service centers are ubiquitous.
      I understand if people cannot or do not want to afford a Honda and I think I would by a Ryobi if it was a matter of money. I would just baby it more by not getting it close to its full running watts and never the surge wattage.
      I have owned a Eu3000i and two Eu2000i's and I have had some bad economic times due to divorce. Each time I could sell these generators for almost what I paid for them. Keeping them in top shape helps and remember oil is cheap. It gets much of the metal out of the engine more often.
      When I have a power outtage I do not want to have to work on my generator. I want it to start and produce power. These units are truly amazing and now the newest on has blue tooth as an option.
      What I find rather cheap about American Honda is that many of the overseas units come with a four or five year warranty, oil and in a few instances tools. If you could figure out a fuel gauge to retrofit these units
      you could be a millionaire.
      There are two sites that has parts fairly reasonable if you are interested,
      Parts I keep on hand
      Spark Plug any auto parts store
      Spare air filters
      Finger fuel filter attaches to the fuel tank
      Rope starter
      Timing Belt $23
      Total was about $40 plus shipping.
      Good luck.

If you run it with the arrow on the grey start/choke dial pointing to a position between the 'O' and 'K' in the word 'choke', it fixes the surging issue. A 5,000 BTU AC will draw about 17 Amps (on 115V) so this generator would be able to run 1- 5000 BTU AC and a few lights - and BTW that goes for EVERY other-inverter generator at this size by every different manufacturer including Honda.
