    If I ever misplaced my plug supplied with my Mock-E GT Performance this would definitely make a nice replacement.
    I purchased and installed the Emporia charging station that you have and recommend. Set it to 40 Amps max. I really like the Emporia station. Thanks for the referral. Keep up the good work.

      I am really pleased with the Emporia. I might do a follow up video on that and show some of their home energy management products. One example, they have these smart home plugs. I was just going to use them to control some lamps and other items via Google Home. But then I noticed they also track energy usage on that outlet. Long story short... I discovered my home entertainment system draws 65 watts even when powered off!

    Looks like the charger that came with my Model Y, similar features

    Interesting that it is rated for 16 amps at 120 V. It comes with a NEMA 5-15 plug, so it should only pull 12 amps max (80% of 15 amp circuit rating). Is there a NEMA 5-20 plug / pigtail that you can buy to pull 16 amps on a 20 amp 120 V receptacle?

      They've updated the literature so it now says 12 amps. Makes more sense.

    I noticed you have the Lectron Tesla to J1772 adapter. I just bought one for an upcoming road trip where I'll need to use Tesla destination chargers. The J1772 connector can be locked in my car thanks to the vehicle inlet locking pin, but I do not see a way to lock the Tesla connector in the Lectron adapter. Have you ever had someone remove the Tesla connector while charging?

      I haven't but I have heard of people getting unplugged.

    Oh come on you would just bring the Ford/Webasto one that came with your car on a road trip. Good option I guess for cars that did not come with one.

      I'll probably carry this one just because I like the case and it is slightly smaller. A lot of other people leave their Ford charger plugged in at home. And with new Mach-Es, the Webasto charger is now a $500 option.

    How’s does it compare to a level 2 that is on the wall? We are new to the EV world and looking at all charging options

      Mostly, it is just that this one is portable. It is a good option if you want to carry a charger with you. If you have the option to mount one permanently, I recommend looking at the Emporia charger. Here is our review of that: ruclips.net/video/-5r4LpE4MO0/видео.html

    I don't know about car charging since my Mach E is still under buiding, but for the smart phone, you use faster charge, the power will be drained quicker. It that same thing for the EV?

    • @MachE_VLOG
      @MachE_VLOG  Год назад

      No, the Battery Management Systems on EVs are way more sophisticated and manage the battery quite effectively even when use DC Fast Charging.
