Great reaction! I just went through all the comments and I don't have much to add, so I'll hit the ones that I agree with. Seeing a Tool fan react = Awesome. That bass player and drummer, Holy shit! Not only her voice, but HOW she sang it too, Wow!
I found this video about 3 yrs ago and instantly fell in love with it. The singer,Kala Rose, was 10 or 11 then. She has her own band now. The kids can only be with O'Keefe until they turn 19,which she is now. Apparently, the 12 yr old drummer,Curtis Moss,is in college now-still drumming. He suggested this song which they rehearsed for a year before this recording. TOOL liked it so much, they made a contribution to the Foundation. (O'Keefe has branches at various places in the world--Brazil comes to mind) I believe the bass player was about 16. There are several videos on RUclips with covers by many kids from there--kids from 2 to 18 yrs old. The last one Kala sang on was "Crazy Horse" by Black Label Society ruclips.net/video/oYEXeW94z5A/видео.html It is awesome! Since I'm an old man,my favorite covers are songs from the 60's,70's,and 80's. Just search O'Keefe Music Foundation on RUclips, and you'll see many songs to choose from. Have fun.
I have watched a ton of reaction songs for this song. You are one of the very few, if not the only one, whom I believe that he listens to Tool, and knows the song text, that makes you more believable than most of the other reaction artists.
I remember when this first released, I watched it over and over again, they are so good. Definitely go check out some more of O’Keefe. There are plenty more great songs. But definitely go check out some more stuff from Kayla as she got older. The girl was blessed with an old soul when it comes to music. Now I’ve got to see if she’s still doing music!!!
I started hearing about them 5 yr's ago.. They also do The Pot, Crazy Horse, Sober, and many more great song's. They have/had some really good singer's over the year's. A lot of their music is played in someone's garage I could go on about them but just listen for yourself. I'm a 64 yr old grandma that still rock's.. BTW, isn't Curtis a fantastic drummer!! 💯🥰👍
This is in my #UpliftingInspiration playlist & gets played on the regular. Tis indeed a thing of joy. :) For a bunch of teenagers to pull this off is properly o_O And props obviously to the engineering & production guys to capture this, & mix & master so well to come up with a polished end result. The teen drummer tho, getting the spirit of the thing so close to what Danny does in the original, trying his arse off while obviously close to his physical limits at the time.... what an absolute #SpiritAnimal !! :)
When little Rock Angel Kala Rose first appears my eyes weal up because I know from watching this many times that her performance is so so awesome. God Bless O.M.F. for their dedication to these young people. The musicianship is absolutely amazing by all their students. Every single one of their videos are eye opening.
Love this video. If you remember, the tool version doesnt have piano. They added this at O'keefe and I think it makes the music even better. You got 4 kids doing what Danny Carey did by himself. The bass player knocks it out of the park and that drummer is beating those drums like they owe him money
The drummer just kills me. And with regards to your comment about moms and dads, the kids probably said: "yeah... you know in our music class we're learning some tools...". What I love about this particular take is that the lyrics are about psyche and genetic evolution, and now these are kids doing it... It just resonates with me. Would be interesting to know what Tool thinks about their version. Sorry for the long comment.
11 year old Kala Rose vocals you have got to do there cover of Crazy Horse when she is 17 or18 its her last song for them and she kills it. But they have lots of great video's Thanks HC
OKeefe Foundation is located in the Cincinnati, Ohio area and has hundreds of great videos out there- all spotlighting these kids’ incredible talents! Kala Rose just turned 21, and is fronting a great band called Saving Escape! Check them out - they definitely rock!!
Hey, I nearly forgot about this one! This youngster really seems to enjoy absolutely killin' it on this Judas Priest cover on these vocals for this song!! Amazing group of young, talented musicians. Check out that guitarist! This is The Chicago School of Rock. If you're a Priest fan, you'll love this! The video is 'Judas Priest - Victim of Changes - Chicago School of Rock'.
Yeah, O'Keefe's kids are great. They have plenty of great covers. Kala Rose is the singer. This was done some years ago when she was 10 or 11.... she's like 18 or 19 now. You can see her doing another Tool cover with the O'Keefe kids, it a great take on "Sober" ruclips.net/video/ctt87B6hU1M/видео.html. They a RUclips page called School Of Rock. There they have some kids doing a great cover of Tool's "Schism" ruclips.net/video/m95O4sysBS0/видео.html. Seeing these kids at music schools doing Tool covers makes you wonder if when they do their final exam, is the best thing to do is a Tool song?

The best cover of TOOLS 46 & 2
How amazing is this!!!!
You should also give a shout out to the O'Keefe Music Foundation who made this possible.
This gave me chills when I first heard it. Same girl sings Dream Theatre. Equally as kick ass.

The piano is actually a really good addition to the song.
+1000 to your comments about kids' dreams

Hard work beats talent.
I'm here because I feel like I can't like anything, unless someone else likes it! Hence reaction videos!
