My recording saxophone series has brought me to the Neumann TLM 102 large diaphragm condenser microphone using my Yamaha 61 tenor saxophone for the demo. The tenor is a vintage 1970's made saxophone and is a great tenor brought to life in this demo by the mini monster and cute Neumann TLM 102. A fantastic microphone.

Great video Ian! Thank you very much for doing it. It's very interesting to hear how different mics capture the saxophone sound. I had excellent results with an unexpected microphone, the Shure SM81 which is mostly used for drums overhead. Its death plain and even response help to get really nice saxophone takes.
