One of the things I liked most about the Wade Meecham murder mystery storyline was that every character in Monticello was affected by the case, including all of the characters in this episode.
Sadly though, Lori Cardille left the role of Winter Austen and Stephanie Braxton stepped in. I felt Braxton played her a bit too " uptown". Winter was an " average joe" type. A very heartbreaking end to her character. I will say however, Braxton did a fairly good job for the characters conclusion.
Most of the story revolves on what a monster Wade Meecham was. Wade blackmailed Logan into legalizing his X-rated movie house or he’ll expose Winter as an ex-porno queen. Wade also had a stranglehold on Tank Jarvis who burnt down the x-rated theater. Wade even threatened to have Tank thrown back in prison. Wade tricked Margo into finance his porno empire and Wade was blackmailing her with a manuscript that detailed their association. Wade even forced Winter into going to bed with him in order for Winter to protect Logan, but Wade secretly videotaped it with a hidden camera.
While Maeve Maguire was certainly the most popular " Nicole", the series was aiming to nab more younger viewers thus enter Jayne Bentzen. Nicole was DE-AGED almost. 20 years! While I too, loved Maeve Maguire, I grew to love Jaynes performance very quickly, especially in regards to the Winter Austen storyline ( another character I really loved as played by Lori Cardille ).
thank you so much.great find!!!!

Yes, writer Henry Slesar was an expert at integrating most of his cast into an "umbrella" plot though his plotting seemed to become looser around '81.

@@jeffsullivan2044 Maybe actress Ellen Barber, another Secret Storm alumna, would have made a better replacement for Cardille.
Not relevant to the show here but on this date, CBS ended MATCH GAME after a near 6 year run.
Abel E. Jimenez And continued in first run syndication until 1982.
I thought Match Game was on "forever." Didn't know it was 6 years. A decent run, none-the-less.
5:06 Margo Huntington or Margaret Hamilton!
Is any of the Meecham storyline available for viewing?
adelgado75 I would to see it.

That's not Nicole! :(
That is Nicole. Jayne Bentzen played Nicole from January 1978-June 1981.
@@nycazfan1 - yeah but the previous one was best

That is bizarre that they'd de-age a character that much. I remember reading about it in some soap history article.
