I guess for me apart from the winter being my imprint season (as it was the cold, icy December that I was first exposed to the world) I like the introverted aspect of winter - cosy, protected, calmer and peaceful as you see the gentle snow falls, that's why I love Winter. Your talk encouraged me to try to simplify my life and focus on mindfulness. Also I am going to pick up some of my older games that I haven’t played in a while because I felt it was a “waste of time”. But now I’m realizing I need to enjoy the little moments more. I usually play a mix of classic and modern games, but the classics are a trip to simpler times, they help me relive moments where I enjoyed much simpler things like play with old friends ust for the sake of having a good time with them, my mom, old dog, good times. Playing just for the sake of completing them takes away all the good from them, you don't get to enjoy them, I'm not saying it's wrong to do so, but in the end you only enjoy the pleasure of completing a challenge and not the adventure of it.
Simpler times, indeed! Also why I’m incorporating back on my day to day life some of those things I used to do as a kid and teenager. I don’t think they were amazing simply because we were kids/teenagers, I think it was also the time itself, the ambience, the activities itself. A lot was different, and maybe part of that a lot was better back then than now.
I'm glad you brought up music... I had a similar epiphany of my own about the calm of ritual, but around music. Ive been collecting cds since i was a small kid, so I have a decent little library. I'm also one of the old holdovers of the old school big iPods. Most of my library was on that iPod. My iPod's hard drive failed last month. I expected to be devastated... Instead I got out my high school CD Walkman and have been enjoying a CD ritual. Picking out an old physical album I've ignored since the digital age started, pulling out the disk, that satisfying pop into the cd Walkman, the whir as is reads it and then reading the sleeve as i just listen to an entire album... I've even been burning mix-tape albums like I used to do before mp3 players were a thing... and it's fun and freeing... A CD pick mediation is how I end most evenings anymore.

So different in style, I have no idea why I loved them so much, but to this day I still remember listening to it on my way to school

I too started playing old PlayStation 1 and 2 games ( currently playing tomb raider 1 and dealing with tank controls lol). Just like you , learning to adapt to the nature of fast pace life but creating a harmonious environment within my walls. Cooking , walking , writing , reading , learning languages , and enjoying a cozy autumn with cinnamon / or ginger tea. Can’t forget my cafecito cubano or قهوة العربية ❤☕️🫖.
