I have a 2012 F150 4x4 crewcab 6.5 bed. I bought the truck it used, and the front end had a 2" level kit on it. I love the truck ar, but I've always felt like the rear leaf springs are weak. I added some $55 1,500# helper springs to it, and that stiffined it up a bit, but it still squats when you put a trailer on it. Air bags are my next option.
By the way, I installed mine over two years ago and haven't had any problems. My remote control works just fine. I always put new batteries in every one of my flashlights each December and I just go ahead and put new batteries in the remote at the same time. Probably not necessary but better than finding out things don't work when you need then.
Good video. I installed Firestone air bags on my 2014 F150 with the same airlift compressor as you. I mounted the compressor like you under the spare tire. I mounted my screator valve (wrong spelling) on the bottom of the bumper right next to the receiver. There's a bolt right there which I replaced with the valve. It's out of the way and you don't need to drill anymore holes. One other thing I did was use plastic wire wrap on all of my air hoses and wires. It was probably not necessary but it gives just a little bit more protection and for me, peace of mind.
I'll have to look into mounting the valve where that bolt is, thanks for the tip. The plastic wire wrap isn't such a bad idea, like you said it's puts your mind at ease.
I've only driven with it for a day with my trailer but so far seems to be helping with the ride. Settles down must faster. They also have a set or 2000 lb rated air bags.
Did you have any issues with the fuse tap? I went with a fuse tap like your setup and when I put the fuse box cover back on I notice that it cants the fuse tap a little.
I don't believe I was having an issue with the tap but I do plan to change it out to one that has a longer reach in the terminal. I was noticing it would start to back out.
This one might not because it doesn't directly sit between the leaf springs and frame (I can't remember) but I believe they do make a version for lowered trucks, but I could be mistaken about that.
Hitchin Mitch thank you for taking time to get back to me . I’m looking at the same system ,matter of fact just ordered it lol. I seen where one person had what they called a manifold in there kit don’t know what that is lol.
I'm still very happy with my system. I've got a few videos on it, one is a review and right after that the manifold you're talking about failed which I also made a video on. I also have a video about payload that I feature the system in. Had over 2k lbs in bed and the bags held up well. But between the customer service and the product, I've been very happy with it! Plus it's fun to see the shock on people's faces when they hear the truck has air ride. 👍
@@howardmiller4241 the manifold comes with the wireless one system, it regulates the pressure. If you just went with the manual system then the regulator is not needed.
I ended up putting in two new batteries and one of the metal prongs on the inside needed to be adjust for better contact. Then it was able to sync. They work how they should.
Hitchin Mitch don’t use a rubberized undercoating. It’ll ruin your truck. Use something like fluid film. It’s applies as a spray, but becomes waxy and will preserve anything it touches. I personally used CRC Corrosion Inhibitor. It works great.

Always nice to have things working when you don't need them rather then needing them and finding out the batteries are dead.

Great video and fyi you don't have to run grounds to the battery just scrap the frame a little and and a self tapping screw done
What system you go with? I just did a add a leaf to the rear and leveling blocks on my 2010 F150 and now want to add bags to it
The ground could of just gone to the frame next to the compressor. It doesn’t have to go to the battery.
I plan on doing this to my truck at some point. But don't tow heavyweight enough. Did it help the ride any?
I've only driven with it for a day with my trailer but so far seems to be helping with the ride. Settles down must faster. They also have a set or 2000 lb rated air bags.
Sounds like it might be worth the time and money thanks. I will have to give it a try.

does this system add a slight lift to the back of the truck without a load? I have a leveled f150 and i don’t want to nose dive without a trailer
Pretty sure you can air them down so it doesn't affect your stance and air them up again for towing
I have a dropped f150 same as yours you think it whould work still with them ?

Happy New Year Bud!
Happy New year to you too! Hopefully it's starting off well!
I was looking for your next video on your air bag install . Did you get the remote to sync up to the compressor ?
Yes I was, turns out the battery was dead. Put a new one in and it synced right up.

Hitchin Mitch the kit I ordered don’t have the manifold do I need that ?

Where did you get these for the best price?
How much was the whole set up?
If I recall it was around $600.
So, do they work? Was it a battery or bad remote? I didn’t go with the remote because I haven’t really heard anything good about that system.
I ended up putting in two new batteries and one of the metal prongs on the inside needed to be adjust for better contact. Then it was able to sync. They work how they should.
Ft-lbs. Next project rust proof underside ?
Most likely during the spring/ summer, I would like to undercoat the truck.

How much do you pay for the aro bags?
I shopped around to find the best deal. And if I recall it came out to be $500 for everything.
What # spot did you tap into
I used fuse #78, but could be different for other years and models.
Good video
Probably not an OSHA approved way to jack up the truck, but I'd do the same.
