Fun video. But eh, Nintendo are still brutal now. The way they jump on fan-games and emulators. They're certainly not 'chill'. :P Also, why do they still charge full price for old Switch games like Breath of the Wild released in 2017? :O
I forgot about chiki chiki boys. Known here as Mega Twins when i used to play the arcade version with a friend. :)
Strider NES is weird. It's got potential but so much broken jank gets in the way.

I should make a video contrasting Strider for NES with Strider for Master System which was also made by Sega.
Nintendo has always gone after anything that they consider competition. I included Minoru Arakawa and Howard Lincoln and I failed to point out that Howard Lincoln was actually Nintendo of America's lawyer who was extremely influential on their actions and corporate bullying. They also complained heavily to retailers that gave competing shelf space to Sega and other systems. This was before online ordering and and buying games in person in stores was pretty much the only way to get them.
Nintendo knows that there's a big market for their games, and since there's no other place to get them, they don't lower the price. In a way, since the switch is dominating, it almost seems like we're seeing hints of Nintendo of old.

@@8bitjoystick yeah, I get it if Nintendo gotta go after IP infringement that's trying to eat into their profits but then they even shut down a port of Super Mario Bros a fan programmed by himself for the Commodore 64 in 2019 that he had shared for free and in no way was affecting Nintendo sales in the slightest it just comes across like Nintendo bullying their own fans. Sega are way more accepting of fans being creative and quite happily allow fan-games almost all the time, particularly Sonic ones. Ok I could be a bit mean and say it's probably the only way you get decent Sonic games anymore (and Sega's own published Sonic Mania was made by folk who previous made fan-games that Sega were impressed by). There was that superb Metroid 2 remake AM2R that Nintendo shut down too, and turned out they'd been making their own remake, Samus Returns, which to be honest I didn't find anywhere near as appealing as AM2R. And Samus Returns is stuck on the 3DS which the Switch itself pretty much killed off. :P
I dunno. I used to be a bit of a Nintendo fanboy when I was a kid. NES, SNES, Gameboy. Good times. Then I got the N64 and things went downhill (people say the Virtual Boy was the Nintendo console that made people feel dizzy and sick, I found the blurry visuals and choppy frame rates of many N64 titles to cause me huge nausea and migraines).
Anyways cool video. I may check out more later when I have time. I hope your weekend has been cool. :)
Also, you've done Mario cosplay with that fine moustache, surely? :)

Well I should have said modern Nintendo is slightly better. Back in the day they used to explicitly threaten retailers who stocked competing systems to cut off the supply of cartridges and systems. That is some monopolistic action and one of the reasons why the Sega Master System and the turboGrafx 16 failed to catch on in the US.
Good idea about the Mario hat. I totally should order one for a convention. It would be a Super simple costume

I'm sorry, but World Heroes on Genesis was awful. Terrible sound and very inconsistent hit detection.

That is totally fair. I my research I saw that it has a super small team and probably a small budget. It is really weird for some team in Chicago to try to convert a NeoGeo game to the Genesis out of the blue. I did not play it for long.

Since there are many options to play MasterSystem on Genesis hardware it is pretty cool to check out this entire library of 8-bit games that many "Nintendo Kids" miss out on.

Well. Golvellius was a game for Japanese personal computers made by compile. It has both side-scrolling action sequences, vertical scrolling action sequences, and top down Legend of Zelda style overworlds style searching. It's one of the best 8-bit games for the Sega Master System and a great game for people who liked the original Legend of Zelda. The company that made it had a very close relationship with Sega and Sega ended up purchasing them later on but it's unknown at this time whether Sega reported the Master System version of the game or just published it. Anyway, there are some really great 8-bit and 16-bit Sega games that I need to make videos about
