The reason i quit classic is for couple of reasons.. 1) too many bots farming everything and I mean herb/mining/mobs. 2)gdkp's... 3) community is so toxic
You're right about the community. I can deal with a "toxic" community but only if doing solo content is also fun so I don't have to group up constantly and can take a break. Classic WoW and TBC both were fun to level up and quest. Wrath not as much which is why I'd probably only play on TBC/Classic Era servers. Cataclysm questing and playing in the open world is just awful.
I thought Classic is toxic till i tried Cataclism...that shit is whole new level toxic. Been in few dungeons, stopped and never looked back. Only thing that i could play and experience a tolerable level of toxicity is in TBC and Classic Era, everything else is just not my thing...
@@KarlPedal-qu7huI knew people on era that would buy thousands and thousands of gold and mash gdkps until they were bis then they would stop playing, it's an addiction imo
@@KarlPedal-qu7hu I do kind of agree on this but it is by far to best option for better players finding solid runs. This phase in Cata my guild went 13/13H in week 3 or 4 and the gdkp I go to is made up mostly of people for the top 5 guilds on the server and we were clearing on alts a week or 2 after. But if I join a random run on the server that ms/os almost 3 months since the raid released I would be blown away if we finished 5/13 heroics. Their is no incentive for the better players to play multiple chars unless they know they are getting atleast gold out of the run and I would only play my main in my guild run if gdkps weren't a thing because a few people can ruin a run now. I mean absolutely ruin the run, so for me GDKP is worth it just to find a run everyone atleast knows what they are doing.
Oh the irony of talking about "non-linear questing and exploration" and then plugging an ad for an addon that destroys any notion of that. I won't blame a guy for paying the bills but shit like that addon and the mindset around it is the real reason classic was "doomed" from the start.
No they are juggling to many versions of wow. My personal opinion is they will release fresh servers after sod has finshed. Edit: just after i wrote this in a exclusive developers interview it was said A fresh Vanilla reset is something they talk about constantly and would also like to do at some point.
@@Nighttimes. Well yes exactly that. they dont want add fresh server that has a high chance of screwing up sod. Again juggling to many versions of wow adding anymore at this point in time will just end Badly for them
@@drewhodge6723 TRue..... they got so many game modes out right now that it has spread the player base very thin. You got classic vanilla, cata, mop remix, retail... and SoD too. That is alot, not including beta testing and all that for TWW. Personally I am over vanilla classic, so fresh servers wouldn't interest me. I do wish they left a PVE and PVP realm for BC and wotlk instead of just one classic progression server that is on cata now. BC servers would prob be low pop, but still would have its dedicated players, new or returning players, and private server community to keep it somewhat going. For Vanilla, I just hate certain parts like how classes are designed, esp how useless some hybrid dps feel, boring rotations, and the grind is way too long. I'd rather play Vanilla with wrath client just make sure the mobs are still tough and u got elite quests and stuff in open world, just liek classic but balanced properly. ATleast then u don't deal with anooying itemization crap like melee and spell hit or crit being differetn stats, or spell dmaage or healing instead of both. STuff like that. But I get that for some it doesn't matter and they still enjoy it.... but I assume thats more pure dps classes like mage rogue lock or warrior priest.
@Nighttimes. The sod hype ended after phase 2 was released. Everyone began to see how just how awful sod really is and just how much they didn't really think it through. Something that blizzard decided to double down on in phase 3 to the point it's unsalvageable
Cata is not classic. It’s retail without the new islands. Classic is wrath and everything before. This is not even a hot take I think 99% of all wow players would agree. I’m glad some people like cata, but it’s just not for us old world classic enjoyers.
@seanwilliams7655 maybe for you and people like you its all about metrics and performance. And if it is then that is fine. Just don’t act like that is a fundamental fact of the game when its really just how you and others like you enjoy the game.
@@zedorian6547 I'm not speaking for me, but stating what I can see. Seems like casual players are in the minority on most servers. Especially the PvP servers.
@seanwilliams7655 casual players are the minority in general. Taking raiding as an example, casuals can only do the easiest difficulty while offering the littlest value. A lot of people who play seriously don't want to play with these kind of people
@@dogswifty7800 I have no idea if you're right or not. What I'll say is, if you are right, it's way different than how it was back in 2007. But like I said in my first comment. Online gaming in general is way less casual friendly than it was 15-20 years ago.
TBC and Wrath have niche groups that support their rerelease, again. Just not enough demand to keep a permeneant server for years to come. Especially when that income could be outsourced to making the new retail exapsnsions more accessible and fun for all.
@@gmarley4402 Yeah you seem pretty clueless. Both TBC and Wotlk always had a massive private scene, multiple times the pop the amount of era right now. Thousands would resub to play permanent tbc/wotlk realms and what does blizzard gotta do? Literally just fund 2 servers per xpac. Free money pretty much
@@Weavelol lol hes right those expacs have niche groups. The opportunity cost doesnt make sense for blizzard when they have the resources to do better things (not that they do lol).
The reason I left can be argued that it isn't even Blizzards fault. For me it is the community. From unrealistic expectations when it comes to raiding, to a toxic community, to the absurd amount of gdkp, this really just drags down a games quality to the point where I am just too exhausted with trying to deal with it. There are other games I can play
Those geared people and leaders gracing you with their time for GDKP’s that you’re ignorantly glazing over are the only reason you can even sniff content in classic. Or you could just enjoy playing in a loser SR guild and you might have fun clearing 2 hour molten cores. Choice is yours.
@@PepeSilvia-z6s if you knew anything about anything you’d know that raid leading a naxx is very time consuming and challenging. It requires very invested players.
Blizzard needs to make a classic server and add new raids, items, and a little class balance. There is nothing plenty of unfinished content they could use. No need to add all these silly new abilities. That is what people want.
The world isn't empty at all in SOD. Tonnes of people levelling alts. People all over the map chasing runes or levelling professions. SOD is the best. Dont believe the salty p3 quitters. The game is alive and well.
the reason people are leaving classic wow is the community plain and simple....theres too many games out there that dont require you to deal with toxic people that require metagaming as a requirement....people are just literal pieces of shit that play the game right now and have made so many excuses for just bad community behavior that people just said fuck it, ill play 50 other games that dont canabalize their playerbase.
We have a great classic guild of nice people and on Agathema I noticed lots of friendly people , always going to be jerks , there are also some great peeps !
1. Fun min maxed out. 2. Everyone rushed to end game and leveling is a nightmare solo. 3. Gold inflation + gdkp. 4. No server identity and community. (I miss you Arthas and Fail'dorei) Waldo was born a fresh rogue during naxx, hit 80 during ulduar, transferred servers to join a 10m core for ICC (AS A ROGUE, MIND YOU) and had plenty of time to goof off, wpvp (wrath era world pvp was simply amazing) and other stuff. Nothing was rushed. Nothing was hyper optimized. It just was. And it was fun. Hell, I even remember trading help on quests with the rival faction on occasion. Classic wrath was NOTHING like OG wrath, and I'm not just saying that because I didn't get the nostalgia hit that I wanted. It truly was not even close.
Vanilla Classic was peak design, and the expansions are just retreading the mistakes that lead to retail. SOD itself is also just taking retails design philosiphies and putting it into classic WOW, patches based around a single instance, a world gimmick of some kind, ect. What classic+ should have been is classic with new content, not classic redesigned like retail FOMO It just lacks that MMO sandbox that classic WOW was, where items had niche uses and were desireable for it. For example remaking tier 1 for all specs wasn't a good idea, but instead making a new raid with new tier 1 sets at the same power level but also designed for other specs would be great. Having new tools to play with is fantastic, but without new content and new context its just going to lead into the same mistakes as retail.
yes the overpowered gear was silly, they could have just made it inline with current damage / power but give different specific build options like fire damage or on hit effect
P4 is exactly like classic release, all dungeons, reps and raids that were in before the post Mc content patch so I'm not sure what you want from them. P2 and P3 sucked but p4 has been a breath of fresh air. There's also still niche builds and chase items, in fact there's more now that are viable than era
I usually buy a month of Classic Era around September/October because i get a random urge to return to Westfall that time of year. However, I'm one of the people who immediately dumped playing classic WotLK once i found out it was mandatory transfer to Cataclysm.
Yea they really should have left a BC and wotlk server behind for people who wanted to just replay one xpac only. I never understood why they didn't do that, but they still left a vanilla one. BC is basically jsut vanilla but better esp class design... and tons of content. Same with Wrath (minus the addition of a new class DK) was overall good imrpovements with tons of content that people might wanna play again, max out everything, or try for the first time.
@@Rohan_Trishanexactly, I dont want to keep progressing and progressing and progressing. Itd be nice to have a permanent wotlk server, just leave it alone and dont touch it. So annoying. I just want to play wow but they constantly have to reset, fresh start! go grind again! nope, im out. For once id like to get my gear and just chill out and not have to worry about getting the new gear.
@@klavier285 Yeah it's crazy. Especially on AV weekends, you will see 13-14 AVs running at a time. That's over a thousand players just in AV alone. The world is still full on Whitemane and Mankrik clusters, plus the DD server popping off. It's really awesome to see.
@@CatDad09 absolutely not true at all. I have been playing on Era exclusively since the TBC split. Whitemane and Mankrik have been the primary focus for population, but it isn't due to just GDKP's. The Hardcore community on Bloodsail was huge, and now the Fresh community on Deviate Delight is huge as well. I personally play on Grobbulus with a small guild that is progressing through Raids and Ranking together. Classic Era is not heliocentric around Whitemane.
I decided to play Turtle WoW instead recently, since their Classic+ private server version of WoW is better than any of the official Blizzard Classic versions.
They gotta learn from Jagex and OSRS. If they want to make a change put it to a vote and let us decide. At the very least we can only blame each other for the state of classic at that point.
NO because eve nin OSRS they still dont completely do that and it was proven that alot of playerbase have absolutely no fundamental fucking clue how to make a good game. Players are not developers.
I think the issue with Classic, in general, is 90% of the content people have done 1, 2, 3, 4+ times before. Even with fresh servers, people eventually get tired of doing the same stuff. That is where classic+ needs to hit hard. A tremendous amount of new content set in the Classic world.
I tried cata as an OG that quit in cata times back in the day and im kinda having fun spamming LFG, just casually playing and tanking. The world, cities and everything else is dead tho.
Cataclysm was the beginning of the end with more transactions, failed additions like archaeology, mind numbing questlines - adding new powers so that clothies could tank or warriors could AoE left all of us seeing the third “rinse, wash, repeat” clearing of the slates for all the fun gear we’d earned - the banks couldn’t get bigger. Personally, I always wondered why we ever needed to be higher than L60… and why new xpacs couldn’t be about you getting better and better as a L60… such that you couldn’t enter Serpentshrine Cavern without Tier 2.5 or better gear or you get smashed. All our crap became meaningless every time, although that tier3 gear was equal to the stuff dropping in Karazhan. The world was supposed to be a big scary place until you were ready for it but they made it all a cake walk…
From what I heard the question is more about if the CEOs are willing to give enough resources and funds to a certain team/ a project. There were plenty of promising projects, but many didnt make it to release because they had to compete with all the other teams. So if they really want to make this big they could just give them the team, money and time.
Because the whole point was to give the players who like the old zones anf class design a place to be, to enjoy wow again. But blizzard being blizzard they turned it into a cash cow.
For me the amount of min maxing and gatekeeping killed the game. It was no longer about an adventure and the freedom of creating your own character. You had to play x class in x way with x gear or you were playing wrong. Had great fun leveling but when i hit 60 that was the reality.
No one is stopping you from joining a loot council/SR guild on classic. Wonder why you won’t though? Sounds like you’re just poor and complaining, or you just really don’t actually like classic.
@@Peleski No - if you’d like to spend 8 hours progging through a 20 year old game you have the option to do so instead of gaslighting people. We know you’re jealous of the swipers dude relax - we’d rather have more people playing the game than less people if you like classic.
Wrath and Cataclysm Classic reminded me of why I quit playing WoW back in the day. No feeling of community, everyone flies everywhere so there's no real player interactions, stats on loot are insanely inflated, it just feels like a grind for a grind. I missed SoD launch and now it feels like it's too late to get in, and is nearing final phase. I am hoping for a real Classic+ in the future.
I've played quite literally every single version of wow that's ever existed. Thanksgiving '04 launch, every xpac, every official version of classic, and a dozen private servers. I'm still playing Turtle WoW. The best version of wow ever created.
I've been hard core raiding Classic and TBC up to T5, burned out before T6, came back for Wrath for a bit when it launched, but then I quit. Now the nostalgy is back and I'd love to have some fresh vanilla or TBC server to start over again. I don't understand why Blizzard doesn't do this, why they aren't starting a fresh server for these old expansions here and there, there's tons of demand for it and it would cost them nothing.
It's the cheating (botting). If they had better anti-cheat and banned the gold buyers (not just the sellers), I'd literally never stop playing this game.
I jumped off the classic train when WoTLK Classic launched. I have been playing retail ever since. I am Thoroughly enjoying it and very excited for TWW.
@@MetaGoblin That's changed for me over time. Very active and outdoor focused person now. I miss WoW. I'd play more if new content wasn't dropped at the nicest time of the year. The last thing I want in summer is to be inside more. Winter is ideal for that.

My main issues with classic wow at lvl 60(SOD): 1) Geting old runes is complete crap and not fun 2) Its not alt friendly, lvling sucks for old content, no groups, and see #1 3) Too much to do in phase 4; my guild rushed into MC .... it was the middle of summer people were on vacation; didn't have time get reps up; dailies, too much pvp in brm, didn't have time to get their FR gear up; didn't have time to get better gear, back to running around the world for buffs.....uggg. Everone bitcheing that people aren't putting int he effort. its very very not casual friendly right now. 4) I already quit because after two weeks, its just not fun.
Ppl focus too much od Difficulty. You can do 12/12 normal with 340 il gear sub optimal comp while cracking beers with your guildies in one sitting. Noone if forcing people to play hc.
The simple fact that the devs were even thinking of things like incursions for SoD says it all. Completely not in the spirit of classic. They have no idea what they are doing.
People have rose tinted glasses about WotLK, but that was the expansion that was the testing ground for all the retail changes that people like to complain about…LFD, hard mode raiding, heroic mode raiding, heirloom gear, achievements, collections…
TBC had 1 downside and that was losing all the gear you had acquired to green items in hellfire peninsula, however Outland was so amazing it was a small price to pay for a new classic area Wrath was not like classic, it was the start of retail, boosts, etc
@@anarchy8263 To be fair it depends what gear you came into outland with. If you came with blues and MC/ZG items then yes. Some items from naxx were literally irreplacable till you begun raiding. It was a fair balance imo and kind of fun in tbc classic to ding 70 with only 1 or 2 items replaced and raid kara in t3.
@@Weavelol I enjoyed TBC. The heroic dungeons were hard as hell, requiring coordination like a raid, the classes felt very distinct, the new zones were fun…
Blizzard refuses to address the real problems with the game like botting, goldbuying and the game getting less and less social with every xpac. Instead they decided o turn Classic+ into retail with lazy content like MC's last boss and other features. Thankfully we got a few Pservers that retained the classic feel while still expanding on vanilla content.
I stopped cata at 83 and switched to classic hardcore. More community, more questing, bad decisions are punished hard, dungeons are something special (and riscy) and not an alternative way to get to max level.
No fucking way Asmongold's reaction to this videos has half a million views and the original is only has 30k. Thats so disgusting. You deserve more views dude
Wait 16 minutes for an invite. Tank & healer leave the dungeon. I wait another 21 (!!) minutes for Tank & Healer for the dungeon I was already waiting for. Finally the dungeon is over. I register. 3x French premade who don’t want to do the boss I need and then die 3x on the thrash to the 2nd boss and literally tell me “I should shut my f***ing mouth and finally stop saying I need the first boss… Are we playing the game in 2024 for this? Did we come back FOR this?
I'm leveling up a new druid on Era but I can't say I'm really excited about it. Doing the same content all the time just gets old. Classic is great but I've just played it so much for the past few years. I don't think Blizzard has a clue why Classic is great and retail is not. I'd love to be proven wrong. But I think the best thing they could do would be to just introduce Era TBC and Era Wrath servers.
Simplified :People love turtlewow .Turtlewow knows what people want .''blizzard '' have no idea what ppl actually want . I cant enjoy enough the fall of blizzard .We should not even call them blizzard .
*FEED BACK for classic+* - They need to unlocked all the locked maps in Azeroth and add new quest/story chains. - There are total 9 locked map in vanilla Azeroth (with isles) - They should add new dungeons and few new raids to some of these locked maps ofc. and design new items/gears fit to vanilla culture. - Some of people dont wanna see GDKP - Bots - Multiboxers - gold sellers and boosters. blizz should take this into consideration. - BARBERSHOP would be great in vanilla btw. (Except for gender reassignment) - We want to see the more lore from; The Great war to warcraft3 in vanilla Azeroth! - WE DONT WANNA PLAY WITH FCKN RETAIL SKILLS ofc! - We wanna see new races in line with the story of vanilla(warcraft). (maybe worgens cuz worgens shows in 2003 vanilla trailer. maybe high elves, maybe goblins idk) - More world boss and more wpvp events would be good ofc in line with the lore of vanilla. - Another arena would be great like grubashi with different chest or reward idk. - We dont want flying mounts and transmogs! I am a 35 year old dad warcraft player, I have cleared vanilla twice before. Now I started again in Zandalar tribe fresh(eu) because SoD(PTR) is a disgrace! I hope one day they will complete the unfinished vanilla and present it to us...
Heya, wow veteran here. I tried SOD ( End after phase 3) and i tried Cata as well and stopped after i dinged max lvl. Why? Because after they went from 10 man raids in SOD to 20, i realized i dont wanna play wow vanilla classic again. I dont wanna play molten core, i dont wanna slay Onyxia for 80000x time. I hoped, that blizzard will actually come with something new. I loved 10 man raids, loved bfd, loved gnomeregan. But after ST they just reworked MC, meh, thanks, gonna pass on this one. Nothing new so far, so they killed promising SOD. After that i tried Cata, overall good, but i didnt feel the old classic vibes, didnt fell hooked whatsoever. I really thought that SOD will be the answer for veterans, who wants to stay in vanilla times but with new content. But guess what, Blizzard fucked it up again. And about retail? I stopped with shadowlands.
They didnt "fuck up" anything. They are Testing stuff. I think people like you dont use their brain. Its more or less a beta test, Testing ground for actual Classic Plus. God dammit
Your crazy, there is tons of fun content in cata, whether u played it originally or experiencing it for the first time. It atleast has some more balaanced class design, more fun rotations, and difficult dungeons/raids.
I'm having a blast; rotations are interesting (instead of just mashing one button over and over), dungeons/raids have actual mechanics and are challenging, super alt friendly expansion, etc.
“A union may keep bad devs around” LMFAO - Reality is Blizzard is losing all their good devs/creatives because they’re terrible now days at a management level. Giving devs a stronger voice can only help improve that situation.
so 40% of people were there for Wrath?. I know the poll wasn't asking that , but I think there is something to talk about there. I know for the majority of my friends Wrath was what we were really looking forward to when vanilla was re-launched in 2019. on a scale from 1-100I would rate vanilla 95, TBC 97, and Wrath 99. Every other xpac after that id rate in the 60 to mid 70s
For me it was the event in phase 3 that killed all desire to play a game were a developer takes so little care that they would let an exploit and shit gameplay like that happen.
Im just on a break. Cata isnt fun, Dragonflight was very boring, pvp is dead, SoD sucks now and is rampant with bots. I still boot up Classic Era though but im not playing that often because Ive been playing other games. Im just waiting for Classic+. Im not even hyped for TWW. Blizzard has just been on a decade long losing streak so im reserved with everything they do.
Breaking the leveling up into phases while releasing new content that outshines the old turned era from a broad appeal game to a tight, railroaded and singular shared experience in SoD. SoD added all this new stuff that ironically made the game smaller in practice.
Had they left it alone in the first place it would have been fine, I think they lost a lot of people's faith when they added that store mount for TBC along with charging for a copy of your character to stay on classic. That was the first mistake of many
why cant blizard just run Vanilla TBC and Wrath on a 5 year cycle? 20 months per expac.I would love to jump into vanilla again with the entire classic playing community.
I spent a lot of time in P2 & P3. I haven't played P4 for a few reasons: 1). I've only joined two guilds, but they didn't work out (demoralizing) 2). P3 was not very engaging 3). PVP was terribly unbalanced. They would trial nerfs every weekend in P3, and it just broke my interest as I did well or poorly based on the trial nerfs 4). P4 my guild collapsed day 1, so I cancelled my sub and decided to enjoy my summer outside.
I genuinly believe mop will be huge in numbers. Theres challenge modes, pet battles, fun dungeons and raids, loads of collectables for the collectors and more. I really think mop will bring a lot of people back to classic..
If they just could add a poll booth system like OSRS (Old school Runescape) are doing in the major cities, it would be easier to get a proper Q/A on what Classic could improve upon. That counts for Both Era/Sod/Cata/Classic + in the future. Take for instant the whole mess in Classic era with Might of Stormwind was introduced to the Alliance without any warning and then again reverted it without any information that it was going to happen. A whole mess that could have been avoided if there were just proper poll to vote for these things. One big factor that Blizzard has always struggled with is to communicate with their players and understanding what players want. A system like this will get a lot better results then listening to the forums or popular streamers that are not playing the version of the game.
Classic players prefer a world where a class has a Tank spec and no Taunt just to conserve the old game and play the same fucking class, with the same fucking gear
I'm a casual player who loves the crafting and questing more than running dungeons. I play classic because retail to me just isn't wow anymore. It has changed so much that it isn't as much fun as the older game. I play to have fun and that alone. If it gets to hard I quit and move on to a different game that is fun. I had quit right after CATA and moved on to tera, acrhage, and black desert because they were more fun than what wow is now. I came back to wow for wotlk because it was the most fun game i have ever played. What blizzard needs to do is forget the hardcore players because there is so few of them compared to casual players like me and just make a game just for them that is super hard and go back to making wow more or casual players and fun for the masses. Maybe they should try and get the original dev team back who created wow in the fist place who knew what they were doing. what i was hoping for was like EQ and there progression servers. just restart vanilla every 6 months with fresh start servers and after a year add tbc then in another year add wotlk and keep adding expansions until they get caught up with retile and people could jump off in any expansion they don't like and go back to the beginning and start over. EQ is an old game, to old for most people to play now but progression servers is what has saved that game from ruin.
So this was my first time playing WoW during this second release. I understand that things change but stats and gear…u had more options and Cata compared to Wrath its so different. In Wrath i had so many choices with that combo ….I chased after every piece of Armor Pen lol. Different amounts of a stat per piece and options! In Cata its almost brainless and the need for more gear is is not there. Waiting to see if there will even be a need to change talents at some point or is it a cookie cutter set one and done. I’m still playing Cata but my time is being spent in other places and i get that many have decided to just spend all their time in something else. I mean once you have had better it’s hard for some to play a game that just isnt the same or as good.
i started playing classic with the ultimate end goal that i couldnt wait for classic WotLK and to raid ICC once again with a good guild! classic went ok, BC went ok, most of WotLK went ok and then the toxicity started and a lot of people left my guild, including myself right before ICC was to drop! making my whole wait for this raid in total vain. F this game! the only reason i will log back in is to donate my vast sum of gold just sitting in my bags to someone who deserves it. no game in history has ever lasted as long as wow. think its time for it to die once and for all!
The idea that classic's issue could be unions keeping devs who don't get it around longer than they should be is honestly pretty bad. Do you really think decisions on direction are being made by labor?
The point about union is so out of touch lmao. As if the game was going fine when the only one who had power and could take decision where the greedy corp.
What to play in the meantime? Well I have returned to private servers :D and it has been very refreshing. GMs answering tickets within 10-15 minutes.. devs that actually listen to the community.. botters and hackers actually getting banned.. all sorts of crazy wizardry you wouldn't believe were possible when you play on Blizzards servers
TBC was the high water mark for me. I didnt even make it to level 80 in classic wrath.

It is like Blizzard is asking us not to play.
No they are juggling to many versions of wow. My personal opinion is they will release fresh servers after sod has finshed. Edit: just after i wrote this in a exclusive developers interview it was said A fresh Vanilla reset is something they talk about constantly and would also like to do at some point.

I just wanna play classic era again but all the servers are fucked by gold inflation. And I really hate that.

Waiting for a TBC server to come out.
TBC and Wrath have niche groups that support their rerelease, again. Just not enough demand to keep a permeneant server for years to come. Especially when that income could be outsourced to making the new retail exapsnsions more accessible and fun for all.

The reason I left can be argued that it isn't even Blizzards fault. For me it is the community.
The ones who classify playing a video game as gracing you with their time are the actual losers though

the reason people are leaving classic wow is the community plain and simple....theres too many games out there that dont require you to deal with toxic people that require metagaming as a requirement....people are just literal pieces of shit that play the game right now and have made so many excuses for just bad community behavior that people just said fuck it, ill play 50 other games that dont canabalize their playerbase.
(I miss you Arthas and Fail'dorei)
Waldo was born a fresh rogue during naxx, hit 80 during ulduar, transferred servers to join a 10m core for ICC (AS A ROGUE, MIND YOU) and had plenty of time to goof off, wpvp (wrath era world pvp was simply amazing) and other stuff.
It truly was not even close.
leveling is a nightmare solo? ur cringe af
Vanilla Classic was peak design, and the expansions are just retreading the mistakes that lead to retail.
SOD itself is also just taking retails design philosiphies and putting it into classic WOW, patches based around a single instance, a world gimmick of some kind, ect. What classic+ should have been is classic with new content, not classic redesigned like retail FOMO
It just lacks that MMO sandbox that classic WOW was, where items had niche uses and were desireable for it.
There's also still niche builds and chase items, in fact there's more now that are viable than era
vanilla classic so peak that its the least played version of wow available
I tried classic. Got to level 21 and never logged in again 😂
Playing Felymyst Skullcrusher TBC tbh, new server, no addons, having fun, nice community in the main
I think the issue with Classic, in general, is 90% of the content people have done 1, 2, 3, 4+ times before. Even with fresh servers, people eventually get tired of doing the same stuff. That is where classic+ needs to hit hard. A tremendous amount of new content set in the Classic world.
They need to copy osrs
The classic players simply followed the classic world when it was thrown overboard
I tried cata as an OG that quit in cata times back in the day and im kinda having fun spamming LFG, just casually playing and tanking. The world, cities and everything else is dead tho.

@MegaMalfurion same
SoD is their attempt at Classic+, and it sucks
I quit because of PayPal warriors, gdkp and constantly being asked to sign up to discord.

I wish they had progression servers that stopped at Wrath of the Lich King. Anything after that doesn’t really feel like “classic” to me.
TBC had 1 downside and that was losing all the gear you had acquired to green items in hellfire peninsula, however Outland was so amazing it was a small price to pay for a new classic area

God dammit
Cataclysm just isn't fun to replay.

That was the first mistake of many
Cata drop off was to be expected... that's just history repeating itself. SoD, on the other hand, just lost all of its momentum.
why cant blizard just run Vanilla TBC and Wrath on a 5 year cycle? 20 months per expac.I would love to jump into vanilla again with the entire classic playing community.
They focused more on”look cool”rather than the experience and good story telling.
I spent a lot of time in P2 & P3. I haven't played P4 for a few reasons:
1). I've only joined two guilds, but they didn't work out (demoralizing)
2). P3 was not very engaging
3). PVP was terribly unbalanced. They would trial nerfs every weekend in P3, and it just broke my interest as I did well or poorly based on the trial nerfs

What's the name of that Add on for the leveling guide for classic
A system like this will get a lot better results then listening to the forums or popular streamers that are not playing the version of the game.
the poll system not only ruined OSRS but the devs ignore it anyway and add stuff the players don't want lol

I only play HC and it's surging this summer. Tons of new people, the raiding guilds are still here. And Only Fangs says it's coming back to HC.
i think HC is popular because of less botting issues

Why have we gotten Cata Classic and not a single Classic Era Fresh?
Everyone went back to private servers
i started playing classic with the ultimate end goal that i couldnt wait for classic WotLK and to raid ICC once again with a good guild! classic went ok, BC went ok, most of WotLK went ok and then the toxicity started and a lot of people left my guild, including myself right before ICC was to drop! making my whole wait for this raid in total vain.
Been playing a week on cata classic. Serveers arent as popped but still a joy to play and im currently a 74 .
It's old school, so it doesn't appeal to new players which is how you grow a game. New players choose retail over classic.
What class was too difficult in sod?
tbc tbc tbc tbc
The point about union is so out of touch lmao.
As if the game was going fine when the only one who had power and could take decision where the greedy corp.
What to play in the meantime?
Well I have returned to private servers :D and it has been very refreshing. GMs answering tickets within 10-15 minutes.. devs that actually listen to the community.. botters and hackers actually getting banned.. all sorts of crazy wizardry you wouldn't believe were possible when you play on Blizzards servers
Time for real new fresh classic era servers!!!
SoD and Cata are neither Classic. SO Classic is far smaller than you give it credit actually.
