Tbh, all classic plus needs to succeed is to offer new content within the classic framework, and provide progression that does not drift as far from the vanilla experience as what we’ve had. An alternate wow reality in which the next stories are given to us within a vanilla perspective, rather than moving onto TBC or later.
* Add dual specialization * Make hunter/warlock pets scale with player character * Make all specs viable in raids * Add a barbershop * Make zones you couldn't reach in vanilla available * Add new class/race combinations * Allow summon from outside to inside the dungeon/raid * Add new dungeons and raids
@@pooshrek7796 Read the patch notes. Half the community is worried right now, all the racial changes and some of the core ways the game works, weapon skills for example, are being completely redesigned for no reason. They buffed all of one factions racials and made a meme of all the others'. It's pretty bad.
i don't understand this obsession with adding new races and classes one of the biggest strength of vanilla is simplicity right now all races and classes are unique and different one from etch other once you start adding new races and classes its usually just reskin of existing races and classes and eventually ending up taking uniqnes from them. Just make existing classes great and even more unique then they are and thats all we need in my oppinion
It's definitely a double-edged sword. On the one hand, I like having a bit more variety. I don't like the single race/class combos like druid only being NE (or Tauren). But... the variety of races on Retail (many of which are reskins of existing models) just doesn't do it for me.
Because I would like content that was originally planned for vanilla put into classic Plus. We've seen an early design documents that ogres were planned for the horde, which then got cut for goblins. We also see that high elves were planned for alliance. Both of which were then pushed back and didn't make it for vanilla.Of course these 2 of these 3 did get kind of added. The other thing is runemaster and demon hunter. Both of these classes were cut from vanilla. Both of these classes show up on early design documents, with demon hunter even showing up on the vanilla box screenshots. Runemaster also showed up in the vanilla tabletop RPG which consulted blizzard on. Of course both got pushed back. Those are the only races and classes I would accept
I dont mind a dwarf shaman and undead paladin just to cover faction balance. But jump on retail these days and look at gnome/undead hunters or draenei warlocks and tell me thats ok.
What people want is a finished vanilla. Finish the map, add the dungeons that weren't finished. You dont need to re-invent the wheel here, your vision is just SoD
Wrong tbh, you're speaking for a large group of people right now that almost certainly don't share that vision for Classic+, much more would have to be added or changed as MG mentions
Just hire turtle wow team, or have them develop and publish in blizzard servers and they get a cut of the player base revenue or something. That eay blizzard can focus on retail and turtle team can focus on classic
I think professions need a HUGE overhaul to make them more compelling and offer more depth to people who don't raid, or maybe players who want to do more than just log on, raid, log off. Some ideas: 1. Lots of recipes (maybe even some items on-par with raid gear) that come from professions. 2. Professions expand class fantasy. Survival hunters use explosive traps so maybe taking goblin engineering could provide some kind of synergy/buff to that? This might be difficult to balance since people start to theorycraft which profession is the best for which classes. 3. Professions give XP. 4. Profession quests at various intervals to discover certain recipes or maybe to unlock the next level of that profession (eg, Apprentice, Journeyman, Expert, Artisan), and maybe even new levels to unlock: Master, Entrepreneur, (pick more synonyms).
I love actual Vanilla, so most of the propositions for changes I see are way too extreme for my own taste. For this reason, I've curated a list of changes I would personally be able to tolerate, and I'd be happy to hear if anyone would agree/disagree with any of my ideas.. 1. Introduce XP locking (for twinking) 2. No layering 3. More moderation/GMs 4. Reward good community members who report bots diligently (give them like a special tabard or something) 5. Barbershop 6. Instant mail within own account 7. Statistics (total kills, total deaths, Hogger kills, gold looted etc.) 8. Toggle between old/new graphics 9. New vanity quests (quests that don't change any existing metas and only offer silly rewards) 10. Add set bonuses to existing sets that don't have any (like low level green world drop sets such as the Dokebi set) 11. Add new NPCs with silly dialogues and more lore books into the world 12. Simplify flight paths (allow direct travel from point to point) 13. Dungeon finder (non-automated, just a bulletin board system) 14. Allow crafting en masse for everything (e.g. you can't afk and craft Wizard/Mana Oils, because you can't queue their crafts like you can in other professions!?) 15. Add a new pvp protection system (like /pvpprotect) that makes you unattackable by players 5+ levels higher than you (anti-griefing protocol) 16. Make Plain Letters non-bound 17. Fix /mountspecial 18. Make Black Lotuses/Devilsaur spawns more random to combat mafias 19. Limit XP gain from boosting 20. Limit mage AOE farming (SoM kinda tackled this one decently) 21. Alchemy Labs in open world to craft flasks easier 22. Remove buff/debuff cap 23. Moderate AH to combat professional TSM abusers/gold sellers 24. Add repair NPCs to notable locations from the get-go (like LHC in EPL only got one in what, Phase 6?) 25. Make some of the useless semi-farmable mobs easier (Stone Guardians in Un'Goro) 26. Make rare mobs drop blues with a higher chance 27. Add a global chat channel so that it's not controlled by players but just exists hardcoded 28. Allow all keys to fit in key ring (incl. Seal of Ascension, Thieves' Tools, BS keys, Seaforium, Ony neck etc.) 29. Allow all herb/ench bags to fit all herbs/ench things (Wild Thornroot, Seaweed, Mixed Berries etc. for herb bag; Enchanted Leather/Thorium Bars, rods, oils for ench bag etc.) 30. Voice chat 31. Make campfires deal damage 32. AOE looting 33. Ability to solo-reset dungeon without having to use script 34. Slower progression (longer phases) 35. Increase respawn rate of world bosses 36. Make obscure crafts cheaper (halve the amount of Arcanite Bars required for Frostguard, make Arcane Bombs cheaper, make Voice Amplification Modulator cheaper etc.) 37. Add more graveyards (like dying near the Timbermaw cave or at the demons in Winterspring causes a 5+ minute corpse run and that's just no fun) 38. Increase the drop rate of specific HYPER RARE items (Spellshock Leggings, Runed Ring, Pendulum of Doom) 39. Crossrealm BGs 40. Make walljumping easier 41. Reintroduce trial accounts with some changes 42. Recruit-a-friend 43. Allow Druids to jump in water in Aquatic form without losing the form 44. More tooltip info on items (like Furbolg Medicine Pouch has a hidden level requirement of 40 for the Use, some greys CAN BE FED to hunter pets etc., so give this information out) 45. Add randomized patrols to dungeons (this is to combat bots) 46. Add drops to existing dungeon bosses/named mobs that have none (like Sandarr Dunereaver in ZF) 47. Implement mechanic to stop open world rogue bots that stealth every second they are OOC 48. Remove the ability to just teleport your character at will from the Character Stuck function from the website. 49. Remove the ability of Warlocks to PVP tag people using Infernals. 50. Ban cheaters. 51. Discourage cross faction collusion and give the alliance their own WCB 52. Increase respawn rate of civilians (rip Hammertoe Griz..) 53. Make DHKs less destructive to ranking 54. Reduce the amount of things you need to collect in AV to spawn riders/Lokholar etc. 55. Fix bracket breaking 56. Add ironman 57. Add all the open world events and festivals into the game right away in Phase 1 58. Make meeting stones work for summoning (but make them require 3 players instead of 2) 59. Remove level requirements from secondary professions 60. More chests in the open world 61. Dual spec 62. Allow summon from outside to inside the dungeon/raid
Also there are things I really DO NOT want to see, and those go something like this: 1. Transmog 2. New professions 3. New quests that grant sick XP/gold/new item rewards that affect existing metas 4. New bis items 5. New raids, dungeons or areas 6. Balanced classes and talents (every class is already special in Vanilla, no need to homogenize) 7. Updated raid/dungeon mechanics 8. Chronoboon 9. Level restrictions on enchants 10. Changes to talent trees 11. Flying mounts 12. Changes to XP gain rates 13. More FPs/ships/zeppelins/teleports etc. (well okay, maybe you can give mages the Stonard/Theramore portals) 14. Garrisons 15. Multiboxers There's also stuff I'm on the fence about and don't really know if I want to see or want to avoid. 1. Achievements 2. Logout teleport bugs 3. More nodes for professions 4. Battle pets/pet tabs 5. Changes to the honor system (yes, it does suck, but would changing it just make things even worse?)
I believe that all Classic+ needs to succeed are some new zones with new dungeons & raids. Places like Gillajim's Island, Uldum, & Gilneas. Beyond that finish some of the quests like the box quest from Eranikus & the Venomtail Raptor trainers And lastly fix the classes that are totally broken like Balance & Ret. The above is all that they NEED to do for a Classic+, anything else thry touch would be icing on the cake that could also become shit sandwiches so it's best not to tempt fate. Also personally I think adding a new class would be a VERY bad idea.
Completing the original developers vision might be the best way to + classic without loosing that vanilla feel. Imagine if all zones were given the same detail and leveling complexity the first 4 human zones received?
I mean Blizzard can technically steal t wows stuff because they own the ip Or hire the team but we know they wont do that :( they dont care about passion just money
I would be very happy with a classic experience where they fixed all the major problems like botting, GDKP and boosting. As far as C+ goes, adding new content in form of: Quests and dungeons in all level brackets. Including reworking or fleshing out existing zones and content as well as new ones. Changes to the PVP/Ranking SYSTEM. Implementing Arena, and maybe some form og city siege/defense. I would prefer removing the "pvp" events we have as of right now like BRM og blood moon. The fact that the zone is un playable during these annoyed me a great deal. A zone fully dedicated to this how ever I would be fine with. Some form of class balancing. Meaning I want to keep the classic feel and class identities as much as possible, but the classes and their specs tweaked enough that they are playable in all form of content. Some race/class combinations added could also be well received as long as it makes sense. New classes and raced could also be cool as long as it is done properly so it does not fuck every thing up, in which I don't really trust blizzard with... A re-work of the professions would also be nice. Being "forced" to take a certain profession to min/mex your performance just feels bad. I would like to be able to have more than two professions. That would give me more to do in the open world as well as being more self reliant. For instance if you could have two crafting profs and one gathering one, or something like that. Quality of life changes I would like like dual spec, sum stones (at least at certain locations so the chat ain't flooded with bots trying to sell summons all over the world) An LFG feature. Not the one where the grp is made for you and you are porter in and out of the instance, but more like the builtin board addon. There have got to be a better way than the chat channel we have now. Add something similar for guild recruitment as well, because spamming LFG chat with your guild recruitment in your native tounge is annoying as fuck. Some cosmetic changes could be cool I guess. Like being ablt to tweak your druid form, or demon pet look and stuff like that. Re work some of the items in the game should be done. Like that guy Tomek or whatever he's channel is called is doing (if u haven't seen it, go check it out) Guild bank: yes Instant mail within your own account: yes Flying mount: fuck no I'm not opposed to some form of guild housing. Somewhere to hang with the guildies and maybe display trophies form your accomplishments. But not so that all you could ever need is in there. Like a forge, anvil, vendors, and stuff. Keep that in the open world to that the city does not end up empty. There is probably alot more I haven't thought about as this is just from the top of my head, and I reckon alot of people probably disagree with me about certain points. Until that time, I would be happy getting a TBC fresh server while we wait for the de team to work on C+.
New class and new races god streamers and content creators have no bloody idea what People want for classic wow. We want classic remastered not classic on meth..
The most necessary element is to create a reason to constantly come out of the world. It will create conflict, create adventure. I think it would be okay to allow me to get the equipment, experience, or whatever I need with adventure points I get through Worldquest.
What is lil' bro yapping about. To the community classic + has always meant completing the original vision of Vanilla WoW that the devs never had the time to complete. None of this random retail wow shit. And imagine still repeating the same old tired talking points about tinkerers and dark rangers in 2024 lmfao
For me, what I try to do is think about one final last patch. As if TBC wasn’t what was next. What was blizz working on that they wanted to release. That’s what I want, nothing more than that. Within that last patch, maybe some class tuning, new zone/s, added crafting stuff. Who knows what the plan was but I hope I get to see some quality of life things like guild banks, faster mail between alts and that’s about it.
@@MetaGoblin i think they just watched first 2-3 mins of game where you talked about new class / races and just posted a comment, good video bro i agree with most of the points you made
I don’t think player housing adds anything and takes people out of the world. I’ve heard guild halls floated with trophies from bosses displayed inside this sounds more appealing to me. Also don’t think we should devalue the sense of accomplishment that comes from getting a mount at 40
i could hardly disagree more than i do with this take.. new classes and races is not what the game needs... tweak classes slightly so they are all viable in a specialized role in pve and make the gear interesting and unique..
@@MetaGoblin efore adding new class, what i want is a true effort at making all existing spec viable. Give paladin a taunt and righteous fury, druid a rez, perhaps hunter a melee spec, etc... Also, remove the debuff limit to make the dot spec viable, and either give paladin and shaman to both faction, or at least give both faction access to high impact ability like blessing of salvation and bloodlust
I want a classic wow that's not a copy paste from a few years ago, with actual new content and ideas and gameplay added. Take what wow classic had an expand on it
One of the things that the new versions of classic that are releasing are missing is how tightly woven the original design is. Sod tried new ideas but each add to the classes make the open world more trivial. The kill times were messed up and that affects the entire game. It’s why people are pleading for small changes each time you add a better spell it means others fall behind. People are also asking for more difficultly but I disagree if there is new content without releasing how to beat it I think that will be good enough.
Overall I agree, though I'll talk about what I think SoD did good vs what didn't work vs what COULD'VE worked if it was a little different What SoD did good: - New / revamped dungeons and raids - Level-up raids (with the intent to do them while levelling) - Re-structuring end-game raids, with some influence from SoM, plus some totally new ideas. - Re-itemized loot, mostly to benefit casters, healers and tanks - New entire class specs + making meme specs viable - The method of acquiring runes, via hidden quests and interesting puzzles - Daily quest incursions for levelling - Re-structuring of pvp ranking What didn't work: - Giant, large scale pvp events. Experience mostly ruined by layering and zone-condensed lag. - Level-up raids (under the scope of being phased-end-game content) - Classes having too many abilities and runes - Molten Core heat system. Also SoM Garr's mechanics specifically. - Debatable, but world bosses being instanced. Depends if you liked or hated all the drama and pvp tied to them. - Infinitely repeatable incursions for end-game content and ludicrous amounts of gold - Gating rank 14 until AQ. Part of the fun of it is getting equivalent AQ weapons early. - Blizzard's consistent inability to ban bots. What COULD'VE worked: - If Ashenvale event was instead an AV-like 40v40 battleground - If Blood Moon event had some PvE activities, other than the world boss that wasn't supposed to be killed ^ Should've made that world boss into an actual world boss by ZG phase - If the MC Heat system was JUST to introduce SoM mechanics for extra loot, except for Garr - If instead of banning GDKP, Blizzard actually banned the bots, especially the ones that produce ludicrous amounts of raw gold. Players like GDKP, but its always souring knowing most players just buy gold to participate and get carried in a GDKP. Lastly one major thing that needs to change before the classic playerbase *deserves* a classic+, is an attitude shift. The greater WoW community has been more toxic than it has been in the past. I'm talking about all the gatekeeping (in classic, of all places), all the entitlement, not even just towards loot, but towards wanting things done in a certain way or within a certain amount of time. Parse-brain has corrupted the majority of the classic WoW playerbase - its a mindset that makes people want to speedclear everything, even at the expense of other players enjoyment. I'd attribute this fact to SoD's rapid decline FAR more than anything Blizzard has done, even phase 3 incursions. There's also the other side of the coin, where players are so addicted to getting carried for everything due to GDKPs, and then doing nothing with the loot they get from getting carried. Not looking up guides, not learning to play, hardly learning mechanics, actively avoiding responsibilities (IE decursing, dispelling) This has always existed, just it is far worse than its ever been and is far more noticeable here. Toxicity will always be a thing in WoW to a certain degree, but right now it is atrociously bad. Like 1 in every 3 dungeon runs, there will be a negative experience with a player, level of bad. Before we *deserve* a classic+, some of these behaviours need to change. Until then, I don't think classic+ will truly succeed even if Blizzard does everything correctly.
Highly disagree with letting folks have mounts at 20. Yes it does suck to walk this much, but everyone can go get all of the flight paths when theyre like 12, 20 for shamans and druids and you really negated that problem. Repair bill is very affordable too. And if we have mounts at 20, you lose the gravity of getting a mount. Mounts are not a big deal if theyre given at 20. 40 is a milestone for all WoW characters. So many things finally are open to you, from talent trees, to special class things gear and instances, mounts should be one of those things.
The slowed leveling in sod was the biggest win. Dont need to go as long, maybe just 3 weeks per bracket. Make the level up raids a little easier since they were harder than MC. Then make a heroic version of the level up raids for 60 as the first pre-raid tier.
My two cents (for what two cents are worth)... One new race for each faction (I'd love to play classic with my worgen), goblins as a truly neutral faction. More quests, a couple more flight points (looking at you, Stranglethorn Vale... need an Ally FP). An easier way to get from Teldrassil to Stormwind that doesn't involve the risk of death. Class tuning to make all specs viable. Tank tuning, so bears, shaman and pallys have a tank spec that can do both dungeons and raids. Give druids a hard rez so they are worth taking to a dungeon (with limits on the combat rez to compensate). Above all... put the hammer down on bots and gold sellers. The GDKP system will collapse when people actually have to go out and farm gold instead of buying it (and NOOOOO wow token). I wouldn't mind a random dungeon finder that does not include teleportation to the instance. Transmog would be nice.
They could add in the SW harbor for Teldrassil to SW. As for more FP, I kinda like that not every faction has FPs in every zone. It makes it feel more "real" some how.
@@seanwilliams7655 I see your point, especially if the zones are more skewed toward one faction over another. But Stranglethorn is a pretty important quest hub for Alliance too, and it really sucks that there is no FP there (although they changed that for Burning Crusade, I believe).
imo sod flopped hard when they started adding stats bonuses like extra crit, dodge, rage, and damage. Literally all they needed to do was give quality of life changes, and ONLY quality of life changes. Fix shaman's stormstrike and totems. Give paladins one or two abilities in between auto attacks. Remove Hunter's dead zone. Rogue's tab targeting combo points. Don't touch warriors, because endgame they sky rocket. I think they added way to much shit and made every class too overblown. Like I was two shotting, basically one shotting mobs in starter zones. And don't even get me started on melee hunters, shamans, and spriests when they were strong. And the main argument against this is that it's discovery and a testing ground, but I don't think that's the best counter argument, because it's still supposed to be classic. It is called CLASSIC season of discovery. Like mind as well should've made it wrath season of discovery with all of these changes. Maybe that's just me, I would like to hear other perspectives.
How i see classic You are put into a story with the opportunity to explore How i see retail You are put into a story with the opportunity to do more story....
The problem I have with SoD is that the runes aren't in line with classic; they do three times the dmg compared to classic spells which became obsolete as a result. I'd like to see Blizzard copy the Turtle Wow approach, including a graphical overhaul using a modern engine.
IMO, any potential Classic+ should draw heavy inspiration from Turtle WoW. It does a lot of what I'd personally like to see as far as new zones, dungeons, raids, etc. But in addition to that, I'd like to see raids be a bit harder, but not too hard. For instance, I think fury/prot shouldn't be a thing. I think bosses should hit hard enough, and prot should be a good enough spec, that warriors go full prot with a shield for endgame. I also think raids shouldn't be mechanically hard. Sunwell should be the hardest any classic raid ever gets I guess I could sum it up like this. Add new dungeons, zones, and raids, then bring TBC mechanics into the Vanilla world.
@@Morgmar they have preserved vanilla classic. We were offered the chance to clone the character to be forever held on that server. I did and go play from time to time for nostalgia. It’s still fun and I still enjoy it! But classic plus shouldn’t be like the OG. Only in appearance. The player base has literally grown up and changed mindsets. They need to adapt and ask the community as a whole what they want. Easiest and most effective way in my opinion
@@russellstewart9012 the issue with that is that there are so many different people who want wildly different things. From barely any changes with more zones, to just retail mechanics with a Vanilla skin, and everything in between. Whatever they do, there's going to be people saying it's either too much or not enough.
I really dont care for any new class or race. I care for content and a world feeling alive for more then a month. If they choose to add spells again for classic + they should be careful because with SOD it broke every other spell in the game basicly being underpowered. The Journey is one of the most important things for the true classic feel. It could be enhanced by adding events from time to time between zones. PVP objectives but also PVE story events for that specific zone. You want the players to keep traversing the world so the world will feel alive all the time. I agree with you on more dungeons and raids. I dont want to have to deal with immense powercreep. Keep it line with current gear powerlevel of similar dungeons/raids. If we ever would be able to get stable servers then I would love to have PVP raids to the Major cities of each faction. These used to be the highlight of my Vanilla playtime. Add objectives and cosmetic awards and add them to the calendar. The world is already there (minus a few zones that we really need) Now fill it with reasons to be there!
I'd like to see itemization changed, more towards an arpg where the stats can be more randomized, there's less reliance on unique items, and when they do drop there's a range of stat outcomes. This would have to coincide with a change to how stats affect characters. For example, how intellect doesn't affect sp today.
Do not waste resources on player housing. World needs to be constantly changing in all zones. Invasions, towns being built, destroyed, random events, new quests low and high level, new low and high level instances. So when you level a new character you can experience new content. It is never the same old grind. Have horde npc and alliance patrols that spawn in all zones. Have any kind of monster patrols randomly spawn that may not usually be in that area. You have to keep the game alive and not the same…. Random spawns would be big with rewards. More hidden chests and resources.
Absolute trash opinions / suggestions for what Classic + should be and completely misses the point of what draws people to play a 20 year old game. You're again suggesting massive changes to a classic game. Classic + should be fine tuning and balancing of already existing content with SOME additional content released over time and horizontal progression capped at 60 and infinite grinds for minor overall improvement to character power. Old school runescape is the model that has proven to work for continuous updates to a classic game and I would go play that if the gameplay wasn't so boring but conceptionally it is perfect. Make old school runescape in a 3d engine. If you want to play what you're suggesting just go play retail.
This is a poor insight into what OSRS is now. As someone who has played since its launch, in many ways the new content added has made OSRS a completely different game, built on the FOUNDATIONS of what OSRS is. Largely untouched skills (although thats changing) But all of the mid game / end game is just completely different. I think as you said it should be fine tuning, with things added slowly overtime but the problem is that it will need MORE changes earlier to not get boring to OSRS because ofthe nature of just how long it takes to get to the "end" in OSRS. I think Meta misses on some points here but people need to stop saying OSRS is a perfect exampleand then stating what the game is not anymore.
You mention OSRS but also fail to recognize that your suggestion of "just fine tuning" is the mentality that lost OSRS most of its returning player base. It wasn't until there was massive changes (clients like OSBuddy and Runelite) and major content updates that the game saw any growth. Your evidence doesn't even support your point. MetaGoblin might have reached slightly with adding classes/races but it's not even the worst suggestion I've heard in this comment thread alone. "Fine tuning" classic has got to be ten times worse.
Im a big Old School Runescape fan and id love to see WoW take the OSRS approach and just take the Vanilla ot TBC version of the game and just add all new and original content, with even new stories and alternate realities.... it wouldnt be Canon but it could be really fun
Meh, I'm not impressed...I've heard and had these ideas back in 2014....10 years later and it's just new people repeating same stuff. You need people who like the game, plays the game to work on the game....Anyone that touched retail can't have an opinion.
I definitely agree with you on the necessity of hooks for new players. We love this game as it is, but a couple of interesting sounding features could allow those who don't know of it to be wooed by these features and finally get to see what we see in classic: a great game. Features that aren't present in retail or even other modern MMOs, some spice that won't hurt the game's identity.
Well i came Back after 10 years or something and I absollutely enjoy just levelling and i am a bit afraid i wont be able to do end game co tento because od time requirements. But i am having a blast to just join for 1.5 hour and do some simple quests
Watch blizzard fk this up like they did with sod, classic and every retail expansion they have done since wrath. It will be the same old blizzard. They will not get another cent from me with their shitty games. Anyway, back to 🐢 wow for me.
What classic+ actually needs - 1. Do something about the rampant botting. This isn't going to happen, so classic+ is dead in the water from the very beginning. 2. Implement *extremely* small changes to the classes to make previously underwhelming specs viable. And nerf warriors. 3. Increase the difficulty of all dungeons and raids by a lot. And I do mean a lot. 4. Rebalance the professions so not only alchemy gets to make a decent profit and everything else is a dead market. Optionally 5. Have an arena for serious PvP and keep PvP and PvE balance separate. When 1 through 4 are done then we can talk about new content and post-Naxx raids. Everything less than this would be a dud and literally pointless.
Making the content harder is going to heavily limit any interest in Classic+.. Why the fuck would people play Classic+ for hard content when Retail already exists? People play Classic largely for the more relaxed environment, where there's more of an emphasis on the journey to 60. They tried to make the content more challenging in SoD and people quit.
The content could be made harder to make up for the class buffs, but definitely not by a lot. I do agree that less is more when it comes to balancing the classes, to avoid the bloat from SoD. Combatting botting(and in my opinion, completely banning GDKPs) is my top priority as well. All great stuff for us in love with the core game already, but I do agree with MetaGoblin in adding a couple of hooks for potential new players for the long term health of the game.
@@relyks8645 Retail has drifted light years away from vanilla gameplay-wise. Not only gameplay-wise, it's an entirely different experience, one that vanilla enthusiasts don't appreciate very much. If people play classic mainly for the leveling journey, that won't be impacted very much by harder dungeons and raids. If vanilla ended at lvl 60, then great, almost 10 out of 10 gaem, but it doesn't. You spend considerably more time at 60 than leveling, yet everything you do at 60 is extremely boring, one-note and not engaging because of how easy it is. Regardless of whether you are playing a DPS, healer or tank. People didn't quit SoD because of the level of challenge, they quit because it's a poorly tested out, very bloated and unfocused retail-lite broken mess. Which still has rampant botting on top of everything.
@@egemenozan5641 I don't think GDKPs are a problem generally. At least you get something out of every GDKP raid and it incentivizes staying until the end. It only becomes a problem with the extreme botting and the gold buying resulting from it. Dealing with the bot issue should be Blizz's top priority when thinking about Classic+. If not dealt with, it would be a massive deal breaker and will sour the entire rest of the experience. I don't see this happening, however, and I've already disregarded Blizzard as a credible company or as a supplier of good entertainment. The other semi-solution for GDKPs would be having a non-farmable-outside-of-raids currency that can be used instead of gold in an officially implemented loot system.
@@viamdolor9226 Okay, well.. Let's see them make the content hard.. Again.. Then we'll see people leave.. Again. Either blizzard will learn their lesson eventually, or they won't.
I just want new Raids and finished/expaned questlines...the Rogues Guild thingy is an obvious one that comes to mind. Just 'expand' Classic. Use some of the SoD stuff that seemed the most well recieved.
There can be 100 vids on this and all 100 will have different things that they want from Classic +, many will not even touch it if its not 100% true to their liking, just enjoy the game, world and players you play with.
All you would need is to add itemization system, or low level sets with 3 versions. Same for T0, 3 versions for each classes spec. Make it reputation locked in the 5 man's or something. REMOVE ALL TRASH IN MOLTEN CORE, leave the bosses but make them a bit harder. REMOVE MOST OF THE TANK AND SPANK TRASH IN ALL THE 40 MANS, leave the unique ones like the fire bomb goblins in BWL or the bat kamikazee's etc. Make the bosses slightly harder, but it should still be a DPS show off game with world buffs. There should be a net gain in time spent in the dungeon, faster clears. Like MC and BWL should take like 26 minutes for both if you move quickly and have Wbuffs by removing useless trash and making bosses a bit more fun.
I love the passion, but getting your hope's up for Classic+ is a fool's game. SoD and even the Era servers prove they are literally incapable of understanding what makes Classic, Classic. Especially when there is twow for free lmao.
I think season of discovery got too confusing when they added more and more Rune slots with new runes, as well as you get your new skills from levelling, id appreciate it if you just had 3 slots in general and you could discover new runes to place in the slots as you like instead of adding more slots with new choices
I have played WoW on and off since Jan '05, so most of its existence. I haven't been able to get into Classic because of one thing that kills it for me each and every time I try... mob tagging. I don't know why it annoys me SO much, but joining a fresh server on launch and trying to tag kobolds during the huge rush of new characters just drives me to quit the game. I did play SoD through phase 2, but the nightmare incursions proved to me they didn't really care about the content and just wanted to keep rushing people to end game. Also hated the rune acquisition. Always wound up just looking them up on WOWHead. But mob tagging man... that's the thing for me. Just let the first like 5 people who touch a mob get credit, or 3 even...
Everybody has their different opinions of what classic + should be. And that’s the problem with it. No matter what they put out people are going to trash it

yeah pretty sure thats a virus
Tbh, all classic plus needs to succeed is to offer new content within the classic framework, and provide progression that does not drift as far from the vanilla experience as what we’ve had. An alternate wow reality in which the next stories are given to us within a vanilla perspective, rather than moving onto TBC or later.
* Add dual specialization
* Make hunter/warlock pets scale with player character
* Make all specs viable in raids
* Add a barbershop
* Make zones you couldn't reach in vanilla available
* Add new class/race combinations
* Allow summon from outside to inside the dungeon/raid
* Add new dungeons and raids
Oh yeah... forgot about dual spec. MUST HAVE. It can cost a boatload of gold to get, I don't mind that, but we absolutely need a way to switch specs.
Check out project epoch bro. Releasing soon.
@@aaron-rb2cc Yeah I've checked that out. I like the idea.
@@jullsan awesome, the beta was great and the server is everything I've wanted from a classic+ server. Hope to see you on when it launches🙏
@@aaron-rb2ccnever heard it. But I’m going to go look into it
Turtle WoW has already given the blueprint for Vanilla+
Minus the crossfaction and hardcore on the pve server sure
And then they threw it away with the upcoming changes lol
Blizzard should just hire the turtlewow team, form a new studio and give them classic + development.
Turtle wow is the perfect classic plus just copy them😂 and blizzard will make millions
I'm enjoying it so much more than I ever did on blizz classic. No bots and the community is so much nicer and helpful
Yeah already in there
Even turtle wow should stick to turtle wow. Their new changes are absolutely not vanilla plus.
@@Trashalchemy I wasn’t aware adding karazhan 40 man was not classic plus😭
The idea is that it would be a huge usp to draw in players. People aren't going to play classic plus if there's barely anything new.
I’d love new classes and races
Yeah, you couldn't be more wrong. Not EVERYONE wants this. I certainly don't.
Just hire turtle wow team, or have them develop and publish in blizzard servers and they get a cut of the player base revenue or something. That eay blizzard can focus on retail and turtle team can focus on classic
I've always thought there should have been a scarlet monastery raid at Tyr's hand in the eastern plague lands
I think professions need a HUGE overhaul to make them more compelling and offer more depth to people who don't raid, or maybe players who want to do more than just log on, raid, log off. Some ideas:
1. Introduce XP locking (for twinking)
2. No layering
3. More moderation/GMs
4. Reward good community members who report bots diligently (give them like a special tabard or something)
5. Barbershop
6. Instant mail within own account
7. Statistics (total kills, total deaths, Hogger kills, gold looted etc.)
8. Toggle between old/new graphics
9. New vanity quests (quests that don't change any existing metas and only offer silly rewards)
10. Add set bonuses to existing sets that don't have any (like low level green world drop sets such as the Dokebi set)
11. Add new NPCs with silly dialogues and more lore books into the world
12. Simplify flight paths (allow direct travel from point to point)
13. Dungeon finder (non-automated, just a bulletin board system)
14. Allow crafting en masse for everything (e.g. you can't afk and craft Wizard/Mana Oils, because you can't queue their crafts like you can in other professions!?)
15. Add a new pvp protection system (like /pvpprotect) that makes you unattackable by players 5+ levels higher than you (anti-griefing protocol)
16. Make Plain Letters non-bound
17. Fix /mountspecial
18. Make Black Lotuses/Devilsaur spawns more random to combat mafias
19. Limit XP gain from boosting
20. Limit mage AOE farming (SoM kinda tackled this one decently)
21. Alchemy Labs in open world to craft flasks easier
22. Remove buff/debuff cap
23. Moderate AH to combat professional TSM abusers/gold sellers
24. Add repair NPCs to notable locations from the get-go (like LHC in EPL only got one in what, Phase 6?)
25. Make some of the useless semi-farmable mobs easier (Stone Guardians in Un'Goro)
26. Make rare mobs drop blues with a higher chance
27. Add a global chat channel so that it's not controlled by players but just exists hardcoded
28. Allow all keys to fit in key ring (incl. Seal of Ascension, Thieves' Tools, BS keys, Seaforium, Ony neck etc.)
29. Allow all herb/ench bags to fit all herbs/ench things (Wild Thornroot, Seaweed, Mixed Berries etc. for herb bag; Enchanted Leather/Thorium Bars, rods, oils for ench bag etc.)
30. Voice chat
31. Make campfires deal damage
32. AOE looting
33. Ability to solo-reset dungeon without having to use script
34. Slower progression (longer phases)
35. Increase respawn rate of world bosses
36. Make obscure crafts cheaper (halve the amount of Arcanite Bars required for Frostguard, make Arcane Bombs cheaper, make Voice Amplification Modulator cheaper etc.)
37. Add more graveyards (like dying near the Timbermaw cave or at the demons in Winterspring causes a 5+ minute corpse run and that's just no fun)
38. Increase the drop rate of specific HYPER RARE items (Spellshock Leggings, Runed Ring, Pendulum of Doom)
39. Crossrealm BGs
40. Make walljumping easier
41. Reintroduce trial accounts with some changes
42. Recruit-a-friend
43. Allow Druids to jump in water in Aquatic form without losing the form
44. More tooltip info on items (like Furbolg Medicine Pouch has a hidden level requirement of 40 for the Use, some greys CAN BE FED to hunter pets etc., so give this information out)
45. Add randomized patrols to dungeons (this is to combat bots)
46. Add drops to existing dungeon bosses/named mobs that have none (like Sandarr Dunereaver in ZF)
47. Implement mechanic to stop open world rogue bots that stealth every second they are OOC
48. Remove the ability to just teleport your character at will from the Character Stuck function from the website.
49. Remove the ability of Warlocks to PVP tag people using Infernals.
50. Ban cheaters.
51. Discourage cross faction collusion and give the alliance their own WCB
52. Increase respawn rate of civilians (rip Hammertoe Griz..)
53. Make DHKs less destructive to ranking
54. Reduce the amount of things you need to collect in AV to spawn riders/Lokholar etc.
55. Fix bracket breaking
56. Add ironman
57. Add all the open world events and festivals into the game right away in Phase 1
58. Make meeting stones work for summoning (but make them require 3 players instead of 2)
59. Remove level requirements from secondary professions
60. More chests in the open world
61. Dual spec
62. Allow summon from outside to inside the dungeon/raid
Also there are things I really DO NOT want to see, and those go something like this:
1. Transmog
2. New professions
3. New quests that grant sick XP/gold/new item rewards that affect existing metas
4. New bis items
5. New raids, dungeons or areas
6. Balanced classes and talents (every class is already special in Vanilla, no need to homogenize)
7. Updated raid/dungeon mechanics
8. Chronoboon
9. Level restrictions on enchants
10. Changes to talent trees
11. Flying mounts
12. Changes to XP gain rates
13. More FPs/ships/zeppelins/teleports etc. (well okay, maybe you can give mages the Stonard/Theramore portals)
14. Garrisons
15. Multiboxers
There's also stuff I'm on the fence about and don't really know if I want to see or want to avoid.
1. Achievements
2. Logout teleport bugs
3. More nodes for professions
4. Battle pets/pet tabs
5. Changes to the honor system (yes, it does suck, but would changing it just make things even worse?)
I believe that all Classic+ needs to succeed are some new zones with new dungeons & raids.
Places like Gillajim's Island, Uldum, & Gilneas.
Beyond that finish some of the quests like the box quest from Eranikus & the Venomtail Raptor trainers
And lastly fix the classes that are totally broken like Balance & Ret.
The above is all that they NEED to do for a Classic+, anything else thry touch would be icing on the cake that could also become shit sandwiches so it's best not to tempt fate.
Also personally I think adding a new class would be a VERY bad idea.
Blizzard killed SoD with the nightmare incursions, very bad idea. The person who had that idea should be removed from the company
The sad part is its not only one guy 😢
Where did u get the 30%-50% player increase if they introduced a new class from?? Just seems like a random number
Completing the original developers vision might be the best way to + classic without loosing that vanilla feel. Imagine if all zones were given the same detail and leveling complexity the first 4 human zones received?
The first thing is to make classes and specs more viable, Hybrid specs need love. Baking in talents as base line is a must.
I mean Blizzard can technically steal t wows stuff because they own the ip
Or hire the team but we know they wont do that :(
they dont care about passion just money
I would be very happy with a classic experience where they fixed all the major problems like botting, GDKP and boosting.
As far as C+ goes, adding new content in form of:
Quests and dungeons in all level brackets.
Quality of life changes I would like like dual spec, sum stones (at least at certain locations so the chat ain't flooded with bots trying to sell summons all over the world)
An LFG feature.
Like that guy Tomek or whatever he's channel is called is doing (if u haven't seen it, go check it out)
Guild bank: yes
Instant mail within your own account: yes
Flying mount: fuck no
I'm not opposed to some form of guild housing.
This is not classic plus. Its Cataclysm over again !
The Gilneas idea I like you can have something almost like “saving” Gilneas from corrupted Worgan that have broken in
Turtlewow Rest is waste of oxygen 😅
bro im genuinely wondering if this is satire
You're the only one with a laughable opinion around here
Simple: little classchanges, lots of new content, especially horizontal content, new bgs!
It needs a skill based pvp ranking system rather than time played.
RBGs & Areanas.
I’m 6 min in, and I don’t think a single of your ideas are what most people want for classic plus. Apart from goblin and high elves
If they add new races or classes it cant be anything too outlandish like elephants and lava dwarves, needs to fit the spirit of vanilla
The most necessary element is to create a reason to constantly come out of the world. It will create conflict, create adventure.
I think it would be okay to allow me to get the equipment, experience, or whatever I need with adventure points I get through Worldquest.
Its not too late to delete this, bro.
He's right though
What is lil' bro yapping about. To the community classic + has always meant completing the original vision of Vanilla WoW that the devs never had the time to complete. None of this random retail wow shit. And imagine still repeating the same old tired talking points about tinkerers and dark rangers in 2024 lmfao

@@Dorian-y3v So basically what I said in the video...
For me, what I try to do is think about one final last patch. As if TBC wasn’t what was next. What was blizz working on that they wanted to release. That’s what I want, nothing more than that. Within that last patch, maybe some class tuning, new zone/s, added crafting stuff. They did that on purpose, to see how people react to certain changes
I don’t think player housing adds anything and takes people out of the world. I’ve heard guild halls floated with trophies from bosses displayed inside this sounds more appealing to me. Also don’t think we should devalue the sense of accomplishment that comes from getting a mount at 40

Honestly I think we are well passed classic + With how they handled SOD. I have no faith lol
Something completely new built around the gameplay of classic. New raids, dungeons, new talents etc.
LAWL so TLDR: Blizzard should make Turtle WoW.
Cute. Defo lost a SUB with this little advert lol

@@7Barnacles yeah I did. Did you? Every idea he has is fuckin awful and would take away from the spirit of what vanilla is.
Overall I agree, though I'll talk about what I think SoD did good vs what didn't work vs what COULD'VE worked if it was a little different
What SoD did good:
- New / revamped dungeons and raids
- Level-up raids (with the intent to do them while levelling)
- Re-structuring end-game raids, with some influence from SoM, plus some totally new ideas.
- Re-itemized loot, mostly to benefit casters, healers and tanks
- New entire class specs + making meme specs viable
- The method of acquiring runes, via hidden quests and interesting puzzles
- Daily quest incursions for levelling
- Re-structuring of pvp ranking
What didn't work:
- Giant, large scale pvp events. Experience mostly ruined by layering and zone-condensed lag.
- Level-up raids (under the scope of being phased-end-game content)
- Classes having too many abilities and runes
- Molten Core heat system. Also SoM Garr's mechanics specifically.
- Debatable, but world bosses being instanced. Depends if you liked or hated all the drama and pvp tied to them.
- Infinitely repeatable incursions for end-game content and ludicrous amounts of gold
- Gating rank 14 until AQ. Part of the fun of it is getting equivalent AQ weapons early.
- Blizzard's consistent inability to ban bots.
What COULD'VE worked:
- If Ashenvale event was instead an AV-like 40v40 battleground
- If Blood Moon event had some PvE activities, other than the world boss that wasn't supposed to be killed
^ Should've made that world boss into an actual world boss by ZG phase
- If the MC Heat system was JUST to introduce SoM mechanics for extra loot, except for Garr
- If instead of banning GDKP, Blizzard actually banned the bots, especially the ones that produce ludicrous amounts of raw gold.
Nah you have some goo bits Meta but on the whole I don’t think you understand the fundamentals of what makes Vanilla the best version of the game.
A new class is a terrible idea.
Go back to retail videos.
1. thing C+ need is a different company or at least Classic original devs and I dont know what is easier to get at this point...
But Stranglethorn is a pretty important quest hub for Alliance too, and it really sucks that there is no FP there (although they changed that for Burning Crusade, I believe).
adding many low level epics in sod was a big mistake. blues should be bis until level 60 raids. otherwise epics lose their value
Crafted epics as early as phase 1 was a mistake.
@@adventurekobold Well play vanilla classic again and again and again
imo sod flopped hard when they started adding stats bonuses like extra crit, dodge, rage, and damage.
Oh and I really hated rogue tanks, mage healers, and etc., but that is part of the discovery, so I guess so?...
Warrior prot could use some buffs to make it end game viable.
No changes outside of improving some weak specs/classes. New content only after naxxx raid. Classic +
How i see classic
You are put into a story with the opportunity to explore
How i see retail
You are put into a story with the opportunity to do more story....
The problem I have with SoD is that the runes aren't in line with classic; they do three times the dmg compared to classic spells which became obsolete as a result. I'd like to see Blizzard copy the Turtle Wow approach, including a graphical overhaul using a modern engine.
Agree having mutilate in dun morogh is crazy. Backstabing in front and cost 30 energy is complety no Classic soul. Glad i left Sod in phase 2 :)
Sunwell should be the hardest any classic raid ever gets
I guess I could sum it up like this. Add new dungeons, zones, and raids, then bring TBC mechanics into the Vanilla world.
Yeah, I have to admit I'm tempted to give Turtle Wow a try
My tier list of wishes 1. Ban GDKP, 2. Fix bots problem, 3. Somehow discourage from min maxing culture
That will never be able to be reality. It’s just not. They could get rid of bots, but they won’t. Min maxing is in every game everywhere.
@@russellstewart9012 that is why we will never ever have OG vanila experience ever again
@@EvilGoatBoy Indeed, extremely important 2 factors for its success
You introduced a furry race? You serious?
hey mr goblin man, are you going to bo playing that server you were prepping for the tbc launch on it?
No Retail- like SoD, please.
Sorry to ruin you vision but that not happend . Not with small classic team .
Heres an idea....Buy up turtle wow and its team, give them free reign to do as they please and give them a budget to support it.
blizzard please dont watch this
He's right though, but you don't have to worry, blizzard doesn't listen to their community anyways
If they did, we wouldn't have WoW tokens
I'd like to see itemization changed, more towards an arpg where the stats can be more randomized, there's less reliance on unique items, and when they do drop there's a range of stat outcomes. This would have to coincide with a change to how stats affect characters. For example, how intellect doesn't affect sp today.
With all new questlines I think they could recapture the magic of the 1-60 grind
Very respectful.
I absolutely agree with this, just fix the classes and add content to the game we loved, it's as simple as that
This is a poor insight into what OSRS is now.
@@ioannistsovilis4181 So what I said in the video 😂
What classic+ actually needs -
Just copy turtle wow with better client
The classes' talents should be reworked to be useful where they are weak.
I would be happy to have cut content added and give us dual specc
I love the passion, but getting your hope's up for Classic+ is a fool's game. SoD and even the Era servers prove they are literally incapable of understanding what makes Classic, Classic. Especially when there is twow for free lmao.
classic is mere fantasy, + version lives in everybodys head in different version.
The problem is you want change and at the same time not. And what is you want to change or not depends from player to player.

I have something to play..... its called Turtle WoW 😂
