  • The software I use to add video notes would not render and crash... so check out full details on my blog at antsoltravel.c...
The footage I captured is vertical, but to make it more RUclips-friendly, I have background footage playing from Rivers of America during the golden hour of sunset with the Sailing Ship Columbia passing by. However, I forgot to mute that track, so now it is a stimulation overload for some people. This video was not one of my best, but I at least got it posted.
There is always something happening at the Disneyland Resort, let’s check out updates at Downtown Disney & Disneyland.
First is Paradise Pier Hotel, soon to fully open as the Pixar Place Hotel on January 31st. Most exterior work is done but they are still working on the guest rooms. Great Maple, a SoCal-based sit-down brunch restaurant, will operate all food & beverage outlets, and open the main dining room later in November.
At the Disneyland Hotel, construction is complete on the Disney Vacation Club Villa Tower and is ready for reservations.
Plenty of things are happening at Downtown Disney with the first phase of the westside expansion of the former AMC Theater. There is a new stage for bands, an artificial turf grass area, and dining tables that just opened in November.
Earl of Sandwich will have a temporary location by the Star Wars Outpost as the current location at the former La Brea location will be demolished soon to place in Portos, an L.A.-based Cuban pastry & sandwich restaurant chain.
The Grand Californian Hotel was certainly grand with Christmas decorations in the lobby a huge Christmas tree in the center of the lobby, garland, and even a gingerbread house version of the Grand Californian. For the cookies, the lobby has a table where Cast Members sell treats & beverages, the Mickey-shaped gingerbread cookies were $10.
Unannounced to me & many Disney guests, California Adventure closed at 5 pm, due to a Cast Member service time event, so everyone either went home or what I like to call “Party Crushed” into Disneyland, as everyone wants to make the most of their day at Disneyland, but is crushed into the park. I just ended up going to Disneyland with everyone else.
I walked around a bit to capture the busyness of the Haunted Mansion Holiday and it's a Small World Holiday overlay and the long lines that came from it. I decided to look at Toontown, get pizza-flops from Cafe Daisy, and bring dinner home.
I took the Anaheim Resort Transportation bus back to work, where I parked my car, and then drove home. They now accept smartphone tap-to-pay systems on credit cards, Apple Pay, and Google Pay. However, for their day & discounted passes, you still need to use their A-Way To App to purchase and show the bus operator the active pass.
Sorry that my video could not be as detailed since the software I used crashed with all of my edits. At least I can post it in landscape and post it, along with my blog as well.
