- I had to grind a lot in chapter 11 to kill this beast on my first visit to Eden. Since I came up with a decent strategy to kill these monsters in chapter 11, this battle was very easy... I could not have done it without summoning obviously :)
Paradigms (in the order you should use them)
1. SYN-SAB-RAV : Start the battle by using Haste, Bravery and Faith (note: no enfire yet!).
(1,5 OPTIONAL: RAV-RAV-RAV: This is not necessary - I just decided to get some chain at this point)
2. SAB-SAB-SYN : This paradigm just has to include Sazh as Saboteur. Inflict Deshell, Deprotect and Imperil (Curse is not necessary).
3. SYN-SAB-RAV : Use Enfire on Sazh and wait for Brynhildr to leave. Then Cast Haste, Bravery and Enfire on Fang and Lightning. Meanwhile Fang should inflict Slow and Daze, and Lightning should just build up the chain.
4. RAV-RAV-RAV : Now it's time to stagger him. Once staggered, use this paradigm until the bonus is about 900%. Cold Blood is really helpful here.
5. COM-SAB-COM : Time to end this battle - Use Blitz-Blitz (if you have tier 3 weapon already, you can use 3x Blitz to kill him even faster). Fang will use Daze, and that'll cause Adamantoise to do.... strange moves? Looks like he's having a seizure...
Shift Paradigms to charge ATB and finish him off!
(I also had COM-COM-COM on my paradigm deck. Sometimes I use it alternately with COM-SAB-COM)
Weapons:
Hyades Magnums (tier 2 Pleiades Hi-Powers) was an obvious choice since it greatly increases Sazh's STR. Low HP shouldnt really cause a lot of problems.
Glaive is a basic weapon for Fang. No side effects and great STR.
Lightning's weapon wasn't yet max leveled, but that is ok, since Sazh does the most damage.
Another strategy that works well (but is luck-based) is using Vanille as the party leader, summoning her eidolon to knock down Adamantoise and spamming Death.
Awesome Guy that's what I did
Do you need a genji glove for that ?
@@rovite359no, because death can just erase the enemy from the battle
Thank you so much for the strategy! Just beat it, and got a Trapezohedron on the first time :D
Thank you so much for the strategy :) I was able to do it with a similar setup to your build using Sazh/Snow/Vanille with Snow taking Fang's roles and Vanille handling Lightning's commando duties well enough with just Rune and high magic.
Really the most important things appear to be Sazh being sufficiently developed as a Sabateur, Sazh having at least 2000 STR post equipment, and having a non-Sazh Sabateur that can spam Daze. I felt like Snow's stats weren't important at all and Vanille's MAG should be at least 1500 post equipment. The weapons I used were a maxed out Hyades Magnums/Winged Saint/Malboro Wand, Sazh had a couple Power Gloves and the first strike one, Vanille had a couple Warding Glyphs and the rest were just catalogue type stuff for drops.
I hadn't developed Fang's or Lightning's weapons at all so I am glad I didn't need them.
Me watching this in 2024 and playing the PC version xd
That certainly more reliable than death spam
it depends, cause with the right setup, death can have over a 10% chance of working (and it's normally about 2%). But there is no denying that on a large enough enemy, Sazh is the HIGHEST damage dealer in the game due to how his blitz command works.
another interesting thing is that if you get 999.9% stagger (maybe even far below it), vanilla with genji gloves ALWAYS hits for about 1 mil per death cast. this needs a bit of grinding, but the earliest I've done that is by doing all of the stage 9 crystarium (and you need to grind a shit ton for that)
you know the tortoise they make you fight in chapter 12 where the guards run scared. why cant i knock him over even using vanille's summon?
People still kinda watch these nine years later 😜🤣
@Soigge Oh ok thanks a bunch yeah i finally beat that thing last night using vanille fang and hope haha. sab/syn/com and sab/med/sen work wonders
@Soigge Oh ok, makes sense... well thanks for replying I learned a lot.
WoW
Bravo 👏
i suck so hard i want to cry ....
@Soigge - RPG & Racing How do you cast Imperil in chapter 12? Sahz cannot cast this until Crystium level 10, which is not unlocked until the final boss is defeated. and I doing something wrong?
Sahz learns Imperil in Saboteur stage 7
@Soigge That's weird I (tried) to kill one before reaching Chapt 12 one of the smaller ones and he didn't bow down to Light's Odin. Got pretty close to killing it though...
This doesn't work. Attempted the exact same process probably 20 times at this point...Much higher leveled this their characters with maxed out weapons and accessories.
you have to do this thing in Chapter 12 when you first encounter them
I wanted to see someone do the adams at chapt 11. so far no founds.
I've succeeded with chelids in Chapter 11. Toises and Tortoises are a no go, so far.
How do you already have the growth egg?
Defeated the giant ochu in ch. 11 with Death-spell
@@Soigge you don't own death magic in chapter 11 ... cheats.
@@yunabraska4990 You can go back to gran pulse after defeating Barthandelus in Oerba ;)
@@yunabraska4990 yea you can get death this early, right at the end of ch 11, you unlock crystarium stage 9 which contains the death spell. Just go back and do mission 55 and you can get the growth egg before heading to Eden.
Doubt anyone will answer here still but I did it with the death spell and he only dropped 40k cp instead of 80k here. Still had a 5 star ranking. Also first time playing this game so I dont really know much about it lmao
Growth Egg accessory = 2x CP
@@Soigge ahhhh gotcha alright thx
Adamantoise got put to sleep! Why does he fall after the summon?
