In this fishing video I go kayak fishing a small local creek. After fishing for a while I come across something I never thought I would find laying in the bottom of the creek. After giving it some thought I called the cops to make sure no one was hurt or missing.

Yes, Alex, it was monday all day, glad you didn't lose much. I was in my canoe with my dad, and he stepped on the side of the craft, and it started to tip, I stepped on the sidewall as I step out into 6 feet of water, the canoe ended up half full of water, the tackle was fine, he didn't even get his feet wet, I lost my glasses in the muddy bottom. The family memories we build.

I’ve thought about it. My only apprehension is the land surrounding a lot these creeks are private. I don’t want to disturb someone’s “property” by sawing up a log laid on the land and in the creek.
Going over those logs has to be tough with your kayak full of stuff. I’d say if that was the first time it happened to you then your doing good my friend. Also I thought you were still teaching so I didn’t realize you were doing RUclips full-time now.

I paddle creeks like that with my seat lowered in hopes it keeps me more balanced. I did fall out of my dads boat trying to get a lure out of a tree though. GoPro with media mod dried out and been doing fine ever since. Hope yours does the same.

I have relatively close access to some small rivers and always intend to check them out , but I hit the easy button and fish a lake.

Bunch of years ago I was fishing in a small pond and saw a rib cage in the water. Called the police and they showed up with a Fire department boat. It turned out to be a dead deer but I’m glad I called just in case is was someone

@@AlexRuddFishing have you ever eaten Muskie? I practice selective harvest of midsize a couple times a year, we have a local lake with a very healthy population. They taste like crappie! My wife doesn’t like strong tasting fish and I made some and she said it was the best fish I ever made her. Love the small creek series!
It’s a 42” keep size where I’m at. If I catch one that big in one of these creeks it’s going back in. 😁

Awesome video once again. So Alex, I have a question. I'm in a predicament where I may sell my boat because any time I want to go out, I'm looking at an hour to 2 hour drive to get to a lake I can use it (everything is HP restricted or electric) and when I do use it, tolls and ramp fees are expensive. Not to mention, finding a place to store it is a pain because Im currently living in an apartment and we have carports (some are a huge pain to park, and a few don't even have electricity to charge my batts). What would be a good solid kayak? Tons of small lakes and ponds I can use it, storage of it would be fine, some of the lakes I do fish are quite large though so a pedal drive would work better. I want it nice and simple though. Looking forward to your input.
There’s so many good options available now. Old Town has a lot of great kayaks with a ton of features at affordable prices. Hobie is going to be expensive but your getting what you pay for. Then you have the option of something like a Nucanoe which is totally modular. You can add a motor, peddle drive, just paddle it so on.

A small top handle electric chainsaw would help you tremendously. Something like the Milwaukee M12 pruning saw, it's unbelievable small and powerful.
