Anderson is the Morgan Freeman of mass effect, he carried the first part of mass effect and got me hooked on this series.
He(Keith David as Anderson) was also Julius in Saints Row.
He's also the Arbiter in the Halo games as well I believe

I think the difference between Mark and Jennifer's performances isn't a matter of quality, it's a matter of how they interpreted their lines and scenes - Mark plays Shepard as standing strong despite his injuries, weathering the storm, so to speak, whereas Jennifer plays her as cracking under the strain, just about holding together long enough to do what needs to be done. Both are equally impactful to me.
You can also tell mark liked the renegade lines better as hale was more willing to put into both
I like the little break on his voice in the middle
Whaaat no. Paragon lines are pretty similar for both but renegade? Maleshep sounds like he loves being a douchebag, makes it look fun. Femshep renegade is like a complete psychopath murdering everyone on her path. She makes it sound creepy and evil. Personally i prefer maleshep but it depends on what character youre roleplaying as.
For example, remember that renegade interruption of "youre working too hard" when you electrify a merc to death? When maleshep says it its goofy almost, like its a joke. Femshep says it like she's a serial murderer who gets off on saying that before she brutally murders someone. So renegade mixed with paragon is maleshep all the way, 100% renegade run when you murder everyonr including your friends is femshep all the way.

***** Years ago at one of those Comic Con panels, both Raphael Sbarge (Kaidan) and Kim Brooks (Ashley) read the letters they sent Shepard after they encounter him/her on Horizon in ME2. Because of this, later, someone asked Troy Baker to read the letter he sent Shepard after Kai Leng beats him/her on Thessia in ME3. Troy agreed, but kept messing up causing Nolan North to continuously make fun of him as they were sitting next to each other. This might have been for a TLoU panel, I don't remember. It's on RUclips. Look it up. It was funny.

I would love you to read the history of Jack Harper (TIM). The work is out there. He was a man with a wife and family and a purpose. He lost himself on his journey. It's actually quite sad. He lead a platoon in the First Contact Wars. His hate for 'aliens' grew from this I believe.

RaderizDorret I try to read everything in Zaeed's voice. That voice alone can get women pregnant, shame the actor passed. I don't think there's a more badass character in the ME universe other than Shep, Imo.

I've developed a habit of mimicking Zaeed's voice IRL when appropriate. Don't quite have the timbre down, but the roughness and accent are very close.
Ike Amadi as Javik was epic. Such a perfect fit for that character. Just perfect.

I know this was posted about 5 years ago, but he will always be Ethan from Buffy The Vampire Slayer to me. As soon as we meet Zaeed in ME2 I quite literally said (to myself obviously) "Ethan, is that you? What tricks will you be pulling here then?" And then I was overjoyed that he became part of the team and I got to listen to his amazing voice. Completely agree with someone else in these comments who said they could've listened to him read anything. Definitely an honour to have on the Normandy Crew. Rest in peace.

I love Jennifer Hale so much. Whenever I hear her somewhere my head instantly goes to Shepard. That's how good she is
You have to give Mark Meer credit for also being the Vorcha, The Biotic God, Blasto, and many others. Throughout the series he voiced at least one of most species. He's a voice acting gem!
Love Claudia Black's voice acting ability. She also plays some pretty awesome women, good, bad, crazy/psychotic, they're always badasses. Whether it's a small part in the Mass Effect series, as Matriarch Aethyta, or in Diablo 3 as Cydaea, or as BioWare's greatest written character of all, Morrigan, the Witch of the Wilds, in Dragon Age, Claudia Black's voice acting ability made them far more memorable had they been voiced by any other woman.

The scene at the catalyst sounds so much more believable with female shepard, she actually sounds in pain from all the injuries she sustained, male shepard sounds as if he's in perfect shape.

Halo has some damn good voice acting but not nearly as many characters compared to mass effect. Mass effect does it the best, but lets not forget gears of war damn that was some excellent voice acting.
Fallout New Vegas also had a good voice actor

Troy Baker, Nolan North, Jennifer Hale, Laura Bailey & Keith David
Any game that has more than one of them is amazing... and this one has 4 out of the 5

Keith David and Jennifer Hale are both the best voice actors in my opinion for these particular roles in gaming history. Both show emotion and dedication in the work for these characters.

@@williamkerfoot8039 yea come on it was a free dlc for closure and the slide show was a compromise because they had to push it out quick. The writing point is up to each players oppinion. And in my oppinion ME 1-3 is still in the top 3 games of all time despite the controversal ending.

i played witcher but for me its just an average game and i hate the boring main character
The ending was bad dude. They should have had more cut scenes. Elcor mounted with canons and mini guns, like I unlocked. Krogan riding Kakliasaurs etc etc.
Ali Hillis is Liara's voice? Wow. That voice is like honey. And that was buzz aldrin? I didn't know that. Impressive.

Holy crap -- how fucking cool is it that they got Buzz Aldrin for that last part.
I find it amazing that voice actors playing more than one character can alter their voices so much to fit the two different characters. Best example of this is Claudia Black (for ME2/ME3). The differences between Matriarch Aethyta and Admiral Dar'Xen vas Moreh (even without the sound effect added into the latter) are astounding.
Jennifer hale has so much more emotion.

Mark Meer was pretty weak in the first two games, but he was excellent in ME3.

My favorite voice of the game is probably The Illusive Man, his voice is awesome.
Whenever FemShep and the Illusive Man were onscreen together, I was struggling to pick out whose performance I enjoyed more. Both just superb.
The voice actors really pull you into their characters. This game had amazing voice actors. It makes you want to learn more and more about the character and hear out the full dialogue.
Jennifer Hale: "In the name of the Galactic Republic I order you to surrender!" - i got chilled when heard this (was in SWTOR trooper arc on Ord Mantell). But the whole Mass Effect franchise i played for female character. Badass or hero Shepard is great with Jennifer's voice. Awesome voice actress!

Have been a huge fan of this pool of voice talent since playing through these games. Interesting to put faces and sometimes personalities to the voices.
Listening to these voices, for some reason, brought back all the feels of playing through each game, all the emotions resurfaced and I struggled not to cry. Most of the lines were the monumental ones for all the characters, their dying lines for some of them.

I miss the days when Bioware actually used most of the voice actors as a template for their character's faces. Sucks that they got lazy, and just cloned everyone in Andromeda.

I think it's pretty amazing how the quotes in this video are just so much more serious and darker in tone than the ME2 video. Shows the difference between the two games as well. Brilliant.

Thanks for making this video, it was great to see the faces of everyone who voiced characters in Mass Effect.
Those people who trash mark mere as the male shep don't know what they are talking about! He was terrific in the role. Both mark and Jennifer were great. These two actors pulled off the impossible. I've played both make shep and female shep countless times and to decide which is better is impossible if you are honest. They delivered two different games to the fans will exactly equal great performances. A feminine and a masculine view are different but equal. Fans shouldn't forget that beyond paragon and renegade feminine and masculine views were unavoidable views. They were terrific

I did much prefer Hale's voice acting as Shepard, and to me a female Shepard is the only Shepard, but that doesn't mean Mere's was bad. It's just that Hale's was amazing. Besides, didn't Mere still voice all of the vorcha, no matter who you played as? That's epic by itself, the vorcha were awesome.
Normally, I like Jennifer Hales work, but I never cared for FemShep, even though I'd probably have preferred having her ass in my face for however many hundreds of hours I've put into the ME games
in the third game he is stunning, hear him maleshep discuss his death and identity thei is true pain in his voice.
He was okay. But Hale blew it out the park for me. Same with Cyberpunk 2077. I think women in general are better at conveying feelings through their voices.
