Off topic... Idea for asteroids: After their timers reach 0 and they are out of reach, send rescue missions for personnel and previously gathered resources. This could be a research tech.

I think the usage of exotic minerals is going to make most players steer away from building underground since it is cheaper and easier to live on the surface, especially since you already have a base on the surface so that you can launch the rockets to get to the asteroids.
I going to make a guess and say they replace the deep mineral deposits and they are now just underground so your are forced to go underground to keep the resources flowing. It's a guess anyway.
@@fatmanboozer1760 They would need to nerf/remove the mohole then. I NEVER run out of basic deposits before getting the tech for mohole. I actually consider the deep deposit techs useless because of this.

i was done the instant the rover passed the door and then it opened.. how hard would it be to fix that.. the dlc itself.. just paradox being paradox with an illusion of depth.

i hope beyond also has things that can be unlocked using underground. it would be nice if you progressed one using the other and vice versa. the 2 parts really should complement eachother rather than one preceding the other.

Fair point Chase; unfortunately, they said that the Elevator is the only lifeline to the surface.. So power, water and everything else must go through it. What bothers me and some other players is that the operation of the Elevator is not automatic, unlike the tunnels. So, yeah, it's very strange and doesn't make too much sense. 🤷🏼♂️
I wonder if this will give us a deeper look into the water sprites? I could see that as one of the wonders, like finding the original hive for example.
Personally, i disliked the need to mine asteroids in order to obtain exotic minerals so only then i can build a base underground.. I would love to be able to start the game underground or use the exotic minerals for something entirely different. 🤷🏼♂️
Yeah that also bugged me. Support structures don't exactly feel like a wild new thing that needs alien minerals. You would think you'd need them for advanced tech stuff

Will this be included in the first colony edition? I hate it when I buy the "worry free" all inclusive version of a game and then it turns out I still have to worry.
Will the expansion work with existing saves? Or will we need to start a new game for all the features to make it in? I can see how the tunnel entrances might accidentally clip existing buildings if implemented in an active safe file.
@@TitanChief10 Going on the basis of the last big update, Green Planet - I asked much the same thing then - you won't be able to use old saves just from the standpoint that the old save would not have the updated tech trees or buildings available. My guess would be that having to update EVERYBODY'S save game would be too much of a hassle.

i like this game alot nice it get's new content. But i wish we get a option for another option as the elevator is only manual its ok for the start but later it would be great for a options for automatic transfer not for all stuff but for ressoruces atleast

Who knows though maybe there’s a building upgrade for the elevator later on.
I imagine the lift works a bit like a depot and drones will feed resources in and out automatically but passengers might need to be sent manually.

Yeah, tunnels can connect power and life support grid. I can't see any reason why elevator can't.

Seems like a 'tech zero' level should be the starter, where you have to begin your colony underground before researching above ground stuff.
