Two minutes into the video, Skye asks "where on Earth are we gonna land?“ And I'm like "well, ANYWHERE would be good, except that your target is Mars, not Earth, dodo!“ very entertaining, Skye. A hoot and a half!
Not sure if you've found this since starting the new series, but there has been a quality-of-life upgrade. Now, when building, hold down CTRL to see the dust boundaries of all the things. Now you don't have to count the tiles :)
I enjoy watching how other players start games because past a certain point it all starts to look similar. Sky doesn't pretend to be perfect...he makes mistakes...which makes me not feel so bad.
Skye, if your RC commander gets knocked out, you can still manually select a drone and command it to fix the command rover, so long as there's still one there that works and hasn't run out of power anyway.
Mate you have to love Firefly and Serenity, we just finished watching them last week. They get put on a couple of times a year. And Jayne is the xo pin the USS Nathon James in The Last Ship. Keep up this good work Skye.

Don't forget to forbid fuel from universal depots and store it separately, otherwise you can loose everything there if a Meteorite hits because it'll detonate the fuel.
You know you can select a drone, tell it to pick up an electronic and then tell it to go to the sensor tower (drone will drop off the electronic and return to base). Repeat for the metal and the drone delivering the metal will build the tower, then return to base. Also why would you think the wasp drones would fly on an asteroid? They need an atmosphere to be able to fly...
Well yeah, it does depend on the distances involved. Unlikely they could do the far corner, but the nearby ones they could do easily. They can make return trips surprisingly far from the drone hubs though, especially the wasp drones, when you are manually telling them what to do.
In his defence Skye didn't have a very efficient loadout to begin. I wpuld have brought another fuel refinery and definitely left the second explorer at home. After looking at the map, he should have picked one of the plateaus and built a tunnel to it then begin building a wind farm there. edit: to state, these are just my opinions, your mileage may vary.
@@SkyeStorme True however you need to research Explorer AI to get that bonus so having both there at the beginning is kind of a waste of cargo space. What I like to do is bring a second fuel refinery so I can get my rockets back quicker, then once I research the tech I bring in the second explorer and plop it down on one of the plateaus to be ready when I start scanning that area. Yes. Only Japan has flying drones and automatic metal (Not rare metals) extractor. Also research points for scannig sectors (after scanning sector you earn around 1000 research point). Also Japan will grant you with 15 drones after building 6 sensor towers. That is very satisfying on early game. At the same time other sponsors (countries) have other perks available only for them (like getting metals from waste rock in India or rare metals in Brazil, microexcavator in Russia (creating small amount of concrete from nowhere)).

How about him seeing the Biotech research as being busy while it's stuck at 1% and a bit later on 52% since he had no research :p

Just a quick heads up; you don't have to unload resources from the rc transport to build, the drones will take resources directly from the rc.

Wasp drones are like normal drones on asteroids. I’ve tried it myself.

i understand that more sensors speeds up the sector scanning, but why is it you build them all over the map right in the corners of sector blocks?

Skye you can now see the dust radius on all building as they added it as part of Update just hold ctrl to show effects ranges on all buildings
I know but you can't see the effective range of buildings :/

I think that In the new update if you hold ctrl in build mode, it shows the dust range of extractors.

2 explorers gives 200 science per day .. they are worth it just for that

How did you get the automatic metal and how do you get underground
Automated mining is a perk of Japan .. underground is accessed via entrances on the surface
