Bill Hader is legit one of my favorite people ever. He too struggles with anxiety, and he is so inspirational. From snl til now, he never stops being funny, sincere, and bleeping relatable! I just love his essence so much!❤

Him being open about having anxiety and that it's okay to be vulnerable for sure is helping so many people to embrace and accept their anxiety, too. We love you, Bill Hader ❤
I am thankful Bill has been so open with anxiety. I wrestle with it every single minute of every day. Which is quite a feat in retail jobs. After that video I have been able to make giant strides in addressing personal issues and how to overcome them. I am very much like Bill, I watch movies and I am in my own world. Hearing him say all this has helped me a lot. Thank you, Bill. Even though I'm sure you'll never read this. I'm a hermit. I hang out comfortably in silence. I live with my girlfriend. But the anxiety is always something that is familiar and never leaves.
I think it’s so great that he’s talking about this and bringing awareness to the fact that anxiety doesn’t always present in the ways you might think. I don’t think I truly realized I had anxiety until I was about 20, even though I’ve had it my whole life. And I only learned this because I was a Psych major (and now have a master’s degree in clinical mental health counseling). I used to get such horrible stomach aches in the evenings or at night when I was 8 or 9 years old, and I wish my doctor/parents would have known to tell me it’s a symptom of anxiety, rather than saying “it’s all in your head” (which I took to mean that I was just imagining it). I also had a lot of nightmares as a kid and worried that I was going to fall deathly ill in the middle of the night and no one would be there to save me (or that no one would believe I was truly ill). Those were just my earliest signs that I can remember, aside from being labeled as “slow to warm up” to people/things.

Mental health does not get enough attention publicly but even when it does it seems as though anxiety is left out of it. This is something I've been struggling with since I was a child and now that I'm a parent affects my children significantly. People generally do not realize how debilitating this is in can be and a lot of time gets labeled as just lazy. That's awesome that he's bringing more awareness to this.

Anxiety is a real disorder and can most definitely manifest itself physically. I went to the ER twice with heart palpitations thinking I was going to die in my 20s. Never really knew I had anxiety before, never really understood the disorder. Multiple tests/cardiologist visits latter, my heart was fine, the issue was that I was having panic attacks, something Bill Hader had himself while on SNL. My anxiety started young. By 3rd grade I was tapping my thighs, by 4th grade I was projectile-vomiting whenever I got anxious. Now I have borderline personality disorder. Thanx Life!
I actually started therapy after hearing Bill Hader talk about his anxiety being like a kind of creature he has to look at with compassion, and after watching Neal Brennan's 3 Mics where he's so open about his abusive father and mental health issues.
