I’m a Malaysian married to an American man from the Long Island. We’re living in Malaysia. Too bad he’s too shy to have him recorded on video 🤭 anyway, everytime he sees a rider wearing jacket in reverse, he’d make the saaaaame comment EACH AND EVERY TIME, which is “only in Malaysia you get to see that!”
You wear the normal way, the jacket balloons up when the wind get underneath, this impedes the speed of the motorcyclist. Wearing it in reverse unzipped solves the problem.

Maybe it is time for Rachel to introduce to us Malaysians, cultural niche in America that we never know or seen on TV. It will be a great exposure.
Agreed..since day 1, all i know about American is what we were fed by movies and tv series. Media. Which i know, most of them, are not that accurate.
So please Rachel. Expose America to us. I'm sure it'll be amazing.
Intan الماس Actually America is a melting pot. There are so many different types of culture due to its diversity. So what applies to Rachel might not apply to another American. Somehow people from outside USA think America is predominantly white. It’s not accurate. If you live in Silicon Valley, whites are a minority. Indians are the majority.
Rachel here! I will try to think of things in America that aren't usually shown on TV. America is very big so everywhere is a bit different, so it'll have to probably be more of my personal experience. Maybe it's because Logesh has already lived here for 9 years, but very few things here surprise him, haha.

The reason why they wear reverse jacket is because it blocks he wind and rain as they ride. It's annoying when wind goes into your shirt. And because Malaysia has a lot of rain, it can come and go in like just a few minutes. Most motorcyclists would just cross the rain instead of taking shelter and that's the purpose of the reverse jacket. Since you're moving, it's unlikely that your back will get wet, so the jacket only resists rain where it hits, which is the front.
Nice fact
+ zipper faulty
+ easiest & fastest way to put on
+ dirt blocking to inside shirt
The jacket can also be called windbreakers. Wearing them just like that can 'break' the wind coming unto them. Hence the name windbreaker. 😂😂😂
Indeed! 👍

Actually in malaysia the hand does makes sense when you're crossing the road. Because Malaysians just DO NOT stop for pedestrians, it is our way of crossing when a car is coming towards us and the hand is our way of saying "thank you for letting us cross" or "please slow down because i am crossing" hahaha. Another other thing we do is lift our hand when we want to cut into a lane while driving, the signal doesn't work as well as a good lift of the hand haha
What I do is put up my hand AND stare the driver dead in the eye, most of the time they'll stop. Then we maintain eye contact until I cross the road. It works haha.
That reverse jacket is weird but brilliant! I remember riding motorcycle with my abah since i was a kid and feels weird why he wear like that.. the things is by doing that, i can easily hug him from behind and protect myself from hot wind@heat.. miss those days
Aww those sound like such precious memories!

Yesss😂
We M'sian's have almost all races of the world living together peacefully.
There's so many cultures of the world blend together making us much closer. Hand power is more of a tradition adapt by all and it's a sign of "Respect". 🙏
Yes! Love the beautiful blending of all the cultures!
There is this one thing that malaysian always do, we call the waiter as 'kak' 'bang' eventhough we don't know their age! I've work as a waiter before and someone in 20's just call me 'kak' eventho I'm about 15-17 at that time. that's just show that we respect each other regardless of age. Younger people are being respected too and I really love that.
Growing up, I too felt wearing jackets in reverse was a little weird. When I had my first bike, I wore the jacket properly. But then I realized:
1. Even if you wear the thinnest jacket, you'll sweat in the heat.
2. If you don't wear a jacket, you'll get dirt, dust and even insects on your shirt.
So the best way is to wear the jacket in reverse with the back exposed, so you'll have wind flow around your body, but minus the mess.
This is the best explanation. Now I understand why its worn like that. Thanks for explaining your point of view bro.
Well... for me I because to avoid my scarf covering my face
Or look like carrying a tortoise shell behind

The invisible man is actually very rare. Only happen occasionally to petty line cutter or doing petty outlaw stuff. We call that 'buat bodoh' as in pretend to be stupid

Wearing jacket in reverse without zipping has many benefits:
1) Protects arms from sunburn
2) Protects shirt/t-shirt from dust, smoke smell, insects, light rain
3) Quick to wear and remove as not zipped

The huge advantage for Rachel in this 'reaction video' is she has a Malaysian guy next to her to give a further explanation of what really happens in the video. Without the context explanation, Americans will find it hard to understand. So its a huge plus for this channel. Well done.. I suggest to show some famous tv commercial in Malaysia and see how Rachel react to it
No offense why would an everyday American want to now about Malaysian culture? In this case Rachel is married to a Malaysian guy. So she might be curious about Malaysian stuff. Also don’t forget, the videos are done to generate money. Do you for example try to learn the culture of Somalians? You won’t unless there is a need for it. Same thing applies to Americans.

The reverse jacket has its reasons. Among them was easy removal instead of lifting the arms, the wind resistance effect. Imagine 'air bag' when riding at high speed and last but not least, imagine insects such as a bee (God forbids 😂) got into your jacket.
The hand when crossing the road also means “ my hand is out, i know you see it and I’m not hesitant at all, I’m brave and I’m just going to cross so you stop” 😂 #takTakutMati

Of all the "only in Malaysia" things shown in the video, the reverse jacket is the only thing that I don't get though. I'm a mat motor myself; I've tried reverse jacket several times and decided it was uncomfortable. Maybe because I actually enjoy the windy ride. After all the wind helps drying the sweat.
Halfey Halphstein I think because it is faster and easier to wear it like that. You dont have to zip the zipper. Just put it on, and ride your bike. My opinion lah hahaha
@@wanfarhan8180 since I don't wear a motorcycle jacket I could start to ride even faster than people who have to put the jacket on first lol
It is faster to put it in an take it off too and usually they wear like that only when to take a ride. If they feel to wear it all the time it would be the opposite.
