You get great prices on produce, and it looks fresher, too. You should see some of the sad-looking stuff we get here in WA during the winter. Of course, I am also old enough to remember when you couldn’t get strawberries in February at any price. But holy moley, the prices on rice and oats! I think my head would pop off if I had to pay $7 for a box of rice. I usually get the store brand for about $3. Name brand is a dollar or two more. Just like any other savings challenge, I totally agree with bending the rules to make it work for you. You’ve come in so far under in some weeks I think it’s OK to buy some crackers. 🤑

Oh it definitely isn't fresher. The bell pepper I brought home started to mold 2 days after I bought it...uggg. I try to shop out of town whenever I can. I like supporting local businesses, but I am not paying that price for eggs! I know eggs are high everywhere...but hot damn! I will start watching my sale ads again and stocking up on some of the items I am low on. There really aren't too many. With Mr. SG307 traveling so much and not having teenagers at home anymore we just don't go through as much food...thank goodness! Haha! But it has been a learning curve for me for sure!!

@@SnowGardenerOh no, I’m sorry to hear about the bell pepper. Those are one of my favorite veggies (or are they a fruit?). At least the produce *looks* good. You should see some of the stuff on offer at the supermarkets here. Wilty, sorry looking lettuce and small, un-sweet citrus come to mind. But the spring growing season will soon be here! 🤩

Your prices there are definitely a lot higher than I pay for things. That being said, I understand it because it's the only store. I'm used to shopping at Walmart, Winco, and Costco.

I try to shop out of town whenever I can for this reason. Also, our produce is often not great...you can buy something and a day or 2 later it will be bad. I have really been trying to buy small amounts so I don't have the waste!

I do like seeing prices from all over. My sister and I compare prices with each other and we are 3000 mile apart. I appreciate you sharing the store prices and such!

I love comparing prices too! It is amazing how much they vary across the US and I love seeing grocery hauls from other countries too!!

My local Kroger store has eggs for $4.49/doz, $6.49/18 ct., $19.29/60 ct. But they had a coupon deal where you can get an 18 ct for $3.49. I grabbed one even though it wasn't on the list this week. We will def use it before they go bad, and i figure they will be more expensive next week.

That’s smart! I love finding deals, even if it’s not on my list! I know everyone's egg prices are crazy but this was out of control!! A coworker told me when he went on Friday the dozen was now $10.79...holy moly!!

Holy bonkers on those eggs for $50. I'm a bit worried about grocery prices sky rocketing and wondering if I need to start buying extra non-perishable items.

It’s good to have some non-perishables on hand! You’re smart to be thinking about it. I try not to buy out of fear but always have a well stocked pantry. I am lowering the amounts in my pantry due to being empty nesters and it feels so strange! We are looking into buying 1/2 a beef from a local rancher and I am so excited for that!!

Great haul. If I still drank them, I would have bought 4 or 5 of the Pepsis!🤣
Your prices seem about the same as ours on most things (southeast Mississippi). I haven't paid over $1.99 for bscb in over a year ( on sale). And most of the time chicken thighs and legs (bone in skin on) are on sale for $.99/pound, although those sales are getting scarce.
Your meals sound good and easy ... the best kind!
