These packing videos are driving me mad over the last few weeks - you'd die if you could see the mess that my case ends up in by the time I finally get it closed - I usually need to sit on top of it and say a prayer as I pull that zip around...!! :)
You have a similar packing strategy to me! I have a travel cupboard with all the travel bits in, a cruise wardrobe (fancy clothes) and seem to have expanded into our two spare bedrooms for pre-packing since my sons have flown the nest 😊 Hubby just asks when and where he needs to drive too to start the vacation!
Jill is a packing guru! We bought Level 8 luggage for our upcoming travel a month or so ago. Hardside is going to be an adjustment for us, but we’re excited to use it!
We thought that we would have a big adjustment changing to hard-side luggage. However, we were very happy with how well the luggage handled. They were definitely the easiest rolling luggage that we have ever had. We barely had to touch them as we walked throughout the airport. They other big bonus was that when we returned to Detroit airport it was pouring rain and we watched people with soft suitcases have wet material whereas our Level 8 cases are waterproof. Enjoy your upcoming trip. Let us know all about it.🧳
Thanks for posting this. Now I might try rolling my suit! Do you also roll Mr. Canuck’s dress shirts? Also, do you have any tips on the cruise ship laundry service? Thanks.
Hi Ron, yes I roll dress shirts starting at the collar. Regarding laundry services on board it really differs between cruise lines as been our experience. Holland America for example offers by the bag or a flat rate for as much laundry as you have throughout the cruise. Princess offer self-service laundry facilities that you can use and do own laundry for a small fee. We personally have had laundry done by the bag with Princess and we were very impressed with the service.
We have a link to that floaty in our Amazon affiliate page on our website. Use the link below to get to that page and then scroll down to find the floaty. cruisingcanucks.ca/amazon/
Hard to believe you guys share one suitcase. We use one for each of us plus a carry-on for each of us. I watch your videos and know you bring a lot of dresses. I give you a ton of credit for your packing skills.
what luggage will you use for sky princess 2nd sept lol .is jerry packing his huge hair brush . just a thought what am i going to say after 2nd sept lol
We are driving from New Mexico Texas border to Utah way up north. I agree on the packing. I miss my fur babies so much when we travel but they are in good hands We packed one suit case as well
We haven't looked for years now. We created our own at one time and since lost it. Packing can be so personal based on each persons style of travel and needs - maybe we'll have to create one!
I always put all our shoes in our carry on (weight does not matter) AC does not weigh the carry on luggage, some nice advice... my personal experience and humble opinion.
We have always done the same. However, now with some much camera gear in our carry on we are having to sometimes put some shoes in the checked luggage. 🧳
I pack in a carry-on & a over shoulder bag for a 7 day caribbean cruise. Did you check Emma Cruises for her video or Paul and Carol love to travel on Marella... did you have any problem booking with since your Canadian?
In the past we have always preferred soft cases however these new Level 8 suitcases really impressed us with how well we were able to handle them. When we landed on our return flight it was pouring rain. It was so nice knowing that our suitcases were waterproof.🧳
Up until now we've always just used the cheapest soft suitcases we could find and some would only last a few trips. We tried the Level8 suitcases this time (shown in the video) and were really impressed with durability, size and how easily they rolled through the airport.
How did you book Marella?? I've heard that it's almost impossible for non-Brits to book a Marella cruise because of their UK centric booking requirements. Maybe it's different for commonwealth countries?
It was definitely more of a challenge booking in comparison to all our other cruises. We are going to be putting out a video all about how someone from North America can book a Marella Cruise. 🛳
@@CruisingCanucks Wow! I mean, Emma of Emma Cruises says that it's affected her choice to use them. She's sailed with them in the past and enjoyed her cruises, but she's to the point in her channel where she doesn't want to go on a line most of her subscribers can't book. A workaround would be great.
We enjoy finding ways to enjoy this wonderful cruiseline and show people how much fun is to be had. Along with that experience comes a template for others to use if they choose to do the same.
On both flights for this cruise we walked right up to the luggage carousel and our bags came out in a few minutes. It was the fastest ever. We often gate-check our carry on as well just to be free of worrying about overhead bin space and squeezing it all into the plane.
We have scaled down and now we each take a carry-on but I re-purpose my clothes with a mix and match and do not wear dresses - maybe one for dressy night. Works for our non-fly tropical cruises. All that will change for next year’s med cruise. 😮
I don’t own 14 dresses! You always look great but fashion is not my thing at my age and as long as I don’t frighten the horses I’m ok. Have a good time on Marella.
Why do you feel the need to take 14 dresses for 7 days? We travel carryon only for 12 days on land and then a 15 day transatlantic, and an overnight in Miami! Why 2 hats?
One dress for the day and a more formal one for the evenings. Two hats doesn’t take up much more room than one. Also there’s no slacks, shirts or sweaters needed if the weather is tight for only dresses. It’s all personal preference and that’s the beauty of cruising, you can do it your own way. We’ve always liked dressing up on a cruise and like to have a different outfit for each day. That’s just an us thing.

LOL! Love it.
Thank you for all of the ideas!!! It’s very helpful 😀
You are so welcome! Glad you like them.
What a FuN video! I love packing for our cruises. Just part of the fun!
I totally agree! It really is.🧳

That is awesome! I’m glad to hear that I’m not the only one taking over my children’s empty closets!🧳
Really appreciate the packing tips Jill, thank you!
You are so welcome! Hope it was helpful.
Have a wonderful cruise....

HAL's unlimited laundry service is a reasonable price. We get our laundry done before disembarkation.
My fur baby gets all upset when I pull out my suitcase too🙃 Great job with packing. Bon voyage ⚓️
Thank you!! 😊They definitely are smart enough to figure out something is up.
What floating device do you bring? Thanks! Love your videos ❤

😎 thx 😜
I need more dresses! Lol! No, I truly mean it! Just don't say a thing to James!
Shh🤫 I won’t say a thing. ❤️
Oh… keep Mr. Canucks away from your suitcases 😂He is a riot 🙃
I agree. I will never let him try to pack!
@@CruisingCanucks😂of course I’m only kidding around 😊🙃😁
@@CruisingCanucksEnjoy your trip 🤗

Thanks Andrea. If we go on any cruise longer than 7 days then we pack and extra suitcase.🧳

His hairbrush does take up a lot of space.🧳

I totally agree! The worst part of travelling for me is leaving Bruno behind.
Thanks for sharing! Where have you found the best packing lists on the internet?

It was a challenge to book Marella due to us not being from the U.K. We will be making a video all about it in the days to come.😉
@@CruisingCanucks Thank so much, looking forward to it... I want to check them out, but being from the US it is a little challenging...
How do you like your new suitcases? And do you prefer the hard shell to the soft? I hope you have a safe and wonderful trip.

AWE …the PET
I’ll keep him for you
Does your large case fit under the cruise cabin bed?
It does! Watch for our Day 1 Embarkation video next week as we show how we fit all of the luggage under the bed.
Thanks for replying, I really love the look of this luggage 😀
Do you use packing cubes?
No , we have never used packing cubes. We have friends that say they like them but as of yet we have never given them a try. Maybe one we will.🧳
@@CruisingCanucks highly recommend. I use color coding for easy unpacking. 👍☺️
Would you recommend a brand of suitcase?
Up until now we've always just used the cheapest soft suitcases we could find and some would only last a few trips. We tried the Level8 suitcases this time (shown in the video) and were really impressed with durability, size and how easily they rolled through the airport.
Hello, Do you know if HAL allows a hair straightener onboard ?
Yes they do. Mrs. Canuck doesn’t go anywhere without hers! Lol.
Thanks!

I just did 9 days with a carry on. Can’t stand waiting for luggage or worrying about it.
