- In this episode of BlacktipH, Josh goes snook fishing with Capt. Glyn Austin from Going Coastal Charters at Sebastian Inlet. After catching our bait (croakers, pinfish, and pigfish) we headed to the mouth of the inlet and started fishing. The snook bite was on fire, we hooked more than 30 fish in less than four hours! The majority of our fish we over-slot size. We were using live bait on circle hooks with a 1/3oz weight. Glyn caught the biggest snook of the day, 38.5 inches in total length. Several of the snook that we caught were over 20lbs.

Probably my favorite episode besides the topwater blacktips. Snook are by far my favorite salwater gamefish

Ha! Fished out of that ramp many times! I no longer fish the Mosquito Lagoon area. The lagoon is all but dead from pollution, etc. The water is now pea soup green. Such a damn shame. A once world class fishery destroyed from greed and bad, terrible management.

I live I Englewood wich is probably the best spot In Florida to catch snook about 3 years ago I hooked into a 29 pound snook and my size 3/0 hook looked like a pencil it was so straight

Can you please explain why that boat was fishing so close? I have seen close fishing on the west coast, but that was ridiculous.
It's because that's a very important spot and charters take advantage on it
because the snook stack up in huge balls generally on the ocean side in the deep channels cut by the current rushing in and out of the inlet. the fish will range some but generally stay in the deeper water right up at the inlet mouth.
I went deep sea fishing in Cabo Mexico and caught an eleven and a half foot marlin
never happened
on 9:25 a dolphin comes up in the back round you cant see it blow air and you can aslo see its fin come up

Imagine fishing a pier, and then some dudes pulls up in a boat and crosses your line 🤦♂️
To even fish for those breeding fish while those jewfish are sitting there is one of the worst things any catch and release fisherman can do. Knowing that your interrupting the breeding pods, adding stress to that population. Those hooked and or released tired fish are easy targets.
John Jarjoura yeah man...unfortunately feeding the sharks and groupies...alot of fisherman don't have conservation in mind.
