Golly, he is just amazing to watch. It brings tears to my eyes just how amazing his musicality is when so many, many songs he's written have been life-changers for me. I am so proud to say I grew up listening to his music and still buy every new album he makes. Grateful that he would sit down and explain the secrets of his beautiful songs.

Seems similar to DADGAD. I just started getting into that tuning (Dsus4 is its really called) and I really like it. This song seems like it would be fun to play. Thanks for the tutotrial!

This is an amazing song, and a super helpful video... I could not figure out this wacky tuning to save my life... to save your time, it is C# G# C# F# G# D#

I figured out an alternative (simpler) way to play the "E" going into the "F#minor" (Actually D# going into F). Rather than muting the low "E" string, I'm holding it down at the second fret with my pinky, so that all my fingers are lined up nicely, 2-2-2-1-0-0, adding another string to the chord. What makes this simpler is, when it comes time to go to the "F#m", leading with the pinky for reference, I can just slide up two frets with all fingers, except the index which goes up only one fret, so that my fingers land at 4-4-4-2-0-0. It's easier for chumps like me, adds that extra string, and still sounds great.

I think you can still buy his special version of the 714. You just have to special order it. Go to the page on the Taylor website about the special model. It has all the info.

That was a special guitar Taylor built to honor Steve and the loss of his daughter. It's no longer made but you will see a used one from time to time.

You will have to google and hunt for "Taylor SCCSM". That is that unique product SKU for that guitar. I found a few sites that 'had it' and I've seen it listed 'used' a few times as well. reverb.com is a great site to check out. Good luck!

Wish the Steven Curtis Chapman signature Taylor was still made. :(

+Brian Bailey Yea, I don't see the floating around on the used market. Not surprising though: seems like a guitar one would want to keep if they like the Taylor sound.

When I lead it I play it out of G! and standard tuning! My brain hurts after watching this video lol
