you know why streetlight meant the world to me from the start? i was so eager to share the best music my ears ever have been blessed to hear. i feel like anyone that doesnt listen to streetlight atleast once you are missing out on an entire chapter of life you dont even know exists within you. these songs capture the raw emotions of my soul and tug at my heart. i love streetlight manifesto.
He did something similar to this in SLC in November of 2012 with Streetlight, they were incredibly pissed because they got a venue change at the last minute and the stage in the smaller venue(where they played) was a death trap(Tomas' own words) so he said that they would play one more song and then turn around and we would close our eyes and they would count to ten and we would say "one more song" and then when they hit then they turned around and did the encore, it was hilariously awesome!!!!!
Thanks so much for uploading this. Most of the videos of Tomas on RUclips are just the music--which is absolutely amazing, don't get me wrong, but the banter is just as awesome. =D
@Whovian42 I'm glad you enjoyed! I kind of thought that people were going to complain that it wasn't even a full song, but I enjoy things like this so I thought others might too.
@Parlo123 I kinda had to work for it. I asked all the people who were working at the venue, but ended up talking to the merch guy for a while. He basically said that he was going to come out eventually, and told us the doors he would come out (there were only 2 of us there at that point.) He ended up coming out about an hour after the show ended, so I wouldn't quite say that he hung out, more like stopped by on his way out!
It's nice that he played it's a wonderful life by BOTAR but I wonder if BOTAR will come back to do 99 songs of revolution vol 2 or whatever. Is Bandits still around?
@Smedricksman24 Someone has an audio recording of the entire performance. I have it on my Tumblr that I listed in the description. Just thought I'd let you know in case you're interested!
@EatAJamBun Its definitely not a folksinger. see the headstock? slotted, unlike the folksinger. don't be confused by the white tap plate; those are used for classical/flamenco guitarists so they can tap with their nails on the guitar, and are cheap and easy to put on (as far as I know haha...)
Ah, that explains why they redid Keasbey and why Somewhere in the Between was kinda half assed. Hopefully they'll just do a live album to finish off the contract so that they can release some glorious unknown stuff
@saarrraaaahhhh Yeah and I read your tumblr post - really awesome post for someone who won't see him acoustic live (this is his "farewell tour" as you may know). It surprises me and doesn't surprise me at the same time that he's very antisocial. He doesn't seem antisocial at all when you see him onstage live (and definitely not in this video) but at the same time, the whole perfectionist/musician genius stereotype is antisocial.
On the offchance that you didn't figure this out during the past year (or for anyone else who comes along) the last song he sings is: The Big Sleep from the album Everything Goes Numb.
holy how the fuck does he do the finger picking for the big sleep? like somebody give me step by step instructions on how to make it sound ^^that^^^^ way.... thx
@skimaskhero well, I don't think that's entirely true.. In my eyes, point/counterpoint is as complex as many of the other songs he plays live.. I mean, Linoleum? I just think Tomas hates the song because of its popularity.
The guitar hes using is the same as Bradley Knowell's , and Kalnoky hates 1234 and point/counter point because in his eyes they are some of the most childish songs hes written and are far beneath the complexities of modern streetlight
He didn't want to play Linoleum, but they broke him down.
So I stood there and I held my breath cause I know that it wouldn’t be long
’til they broke me down
"they provide the paint! they provide the paint!"
a man of class

Thanks chuckles. Still true.
This kind of banter is why I want to go to see Toh Kay (and his guitar) as my first concert. Hope he comes to Houston eventually.
I love the way he communicates with the audience ahahha
No dislikes... The way every Toh Kay video should be.
Still goin strong
@@booploop9240 not anymore, some heathen disliked the video.
@@blackbird000 it's okay, RUclips fixed it

I wish I saw more of his solo stuff. He seems to be more comfortable with audience engagement here.

You can tell it's been a long tour when Tomas has facial hair.
If you have more, please upload it. This is great!
His hair is so long.
@Whovian42 I'm glad you enjoyed! I kind of thought that people were going to complain that it wasn't even a full song, but I enjoy things like this so I thought others might too.
He's TOMAS KALNOKY of Streetlight Manifesto. He can do whatever he damn well pleases.
no idea how happy this makes me :D Thanks for the upload :)
G'damn he inspires me

I wanna say "I love him", but that feels way too creepy. I do, however, have a bit of an unhealthy infatuation.
You´re creepy, with any sort of certainty
It's nice that he played it's a wonderful life by BOTAR but I wonder if BOTAR will come back to do 99 songs of revolution vol 2 or whatever. Is Bandits still around?
Well it turns out, the Toh kay acoustic trio is going to be working on the 2nd edition of 99sor. I'm so excited

@saarrraaaahhhh Where is the tumblr post of the entire performance?!
@saarrraaaahhhh Well thanks for this then! I certainly can't blame you for just enjoying the show.
What did the audience say that caused him to say "I have six other guys who would wholeheartedly disagree with you"?
i think he was talking about the rest of streetlight, and the audience must have said something like, "you're the best!"
could you please please re-upload that file share?
Ah, that explains why they redid Keasbey and why Somewhere in the Between was kinda half assed. Hopefully they'll just do a live album to finish off the contract so that they can release some glorious unknown stuff
i know this comment is ten years old but how is SITB half assed? really?
He said Point/Counterpoint is a what song? I couldn't identify what he says at 1:45
He says "Point/Counterpoint is an awful song." Tomas is known to hate it despite it being universally loved
***** lol Toh Kay WROTE point/counterpoint.
Ryan Sheehy he doesnt hate it he hates the acoustic version of it to be fair it isnt a good acoustic song
@@rythespyguy7718 he said it's an old song
hey does anyone know what guitar he's playing or is it a classical can someone please tell me
@FugitiveDoughnut Stand by me, old song, not by Kalnoky lol
@DrCool8 love how you worded that! hahaha =D
Anyone have sheet music or tabs for any of these songs?
I’ve watched this video like 20 times
still coming back and watching it
oh I saw botar too that was one of them
Does anyone know what that guy in the background said at 1:44?
Anyone know the chords to its a wonderful life? and/or what kind of guitar that is. Its really interesting.

What did the guy say when he replied I have 6 other guys who would disagree?
Does anybody know what the last song he played was? It's right on the tip of my tongue.
HEY I FOUND U ON A VIDEO UNINTENTIONALLY!!!
On the offchance that you didn't figure this out during the past year (or for anyone else who comes along) the last song he sings is: The Big Sleep from the album Everything Goes Numb.
He's a dedicated streetlight fan like me. He just couldn't remember the name

This would be 20 times funnier if I knew what the crowd was saying. If you remember or can translate, lemme know :)
It's definitely classical. I couldn't tell you a brand or model, but most classicals sound pretty similar if that's the sound you're looking for.
@skimaskhero well, I don't think that's entirely true.. In my eyes, point/counterpoint is as complex as many of the other songs he plays live.. I mean, Linoleum? I just think Tomas hates the song because of its popularity.
@RaisonStrain I put a new link in the description, that one should work!
@saarrraaaahhhh i think the link is broken

@FugitiveDoughnut Np mate :)
The Big Sleep :'D
@onderjonder92 Because they are trying to get done with their victory records contract
@RdSoxFan618 Ahhh I know =( He kind of did a lot of that, but it was still awesome, regardless.
Fuck why didn't he finish It's a Wonderful Life? Just let the crowd sing and then pickup the lyrics as they go along.
If he doesn't like covering songs because he had no part in writing them... THEN WHY THE HELL DID HE DO A COVER ALBUM!?!?!?!?!?!
Because they ment something
